Palin has been already cleared of wrongdoing, but that hasn’t stopped hack politicians from keeping up the attack. You may remember Hollis French who basically guaranteed that the findings of the legislative probe would lead to an “October surprise” for Palin and the McCain campaign. Well, the only “surprise” was that when she was cleared of any wrongdoing, it failed to make national news (I’m shocked!)

But it looks as if Hollis French might be starting to get the hint.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Sen. Hollis French is polling his constituents about the so-called Troopergate saga, and whether lawmakers should drop the issue or look into it more.

“It’s running 2-to-1 in favor of letting it go,” French said. “Most think it’s over, it’s done. With the election over let’s move on.”

While many seem to have tired of Troopergate, French says the ignored subpoenas may continue to be an issue in Juneau.

“There have been some discussions about the vagueness of how you enforce our subpoenas,” French said. “It’s not very well articulated on how a person challenges if you disagree with it, so there may be some action on those two aspects to try and flush it out a little bit.”
