Palin’s trip has been characterized by some in the media as a chaotic mess, but having a visible breakfast with Ayotte is wicked smart. Palin and her team are skillful at mixing in a little "old" politics with their emphasis on the "new."

I wrote this on Nov 22, 2010 on the 10 benefits of "being late out of the box" in declaring for President:

    1) Waiting for others to declare so you know who your opposition is and so you can plan to engage them

Sarah Palin calls it getting the lay of the land.

    2) To be absolutely sure you have ducks in a row and that you run a tight ship

The Left is watching for one glaring error in terms of her preparation to run for President so they can lodge complaints with the FEC and make Palin’s life a living hell.

    3) So you can do your own polling and focus groups to get the true lay of the land

I was off-base here but the notorious Frank Bailey did suggest Palin was obsessed by polls.

    4) So you can "prepare the way" through a series of interviews, publicity etc.

I didn’t think of a nationwide bus tour.

    5) To make sure your momentum from the book tour and Alaskan travelogue series is genuine and not short-lived

Every politician probably wonders in a fleeting moment if "the magic" has disappeared.

    6) To rest up from the midterm experience

Why exhaust yourself in the first quarter when you have to bring your best effort and performance in the third and fourth quarters!

    7) To take more time to plan, strategize, and map out the trail to the GOP nomination

Quite obvious if you wait to declare.

    8) To wait for football season is over so people will be paying attention

Mitt Romney even alluded to this in waiting to the spring to declare. Sarah Palin also decided to wait until her children were on summer vacation

    9) To have time to set up operations in Iowa, NH and SC

    Organize4Palin was not yet born.

    10) To have time to cultivate important endorsements

Palin met with Kelly Ayotte in NH, her most significant endorsement there. She plans to meet with Gov Terry Branstad in Iowa and Gov Nikki Haley in SC.

I knew for sure Palin was running after she endorsed Branstad in the 11th hour before the Iowa gubernatorial primaries–that had nothing to do with 2010 and everything to do with 2012.

In the same vein 10 cons on being "late out of the box":

      1) Being accused of procrastination, dithering or not being decisive–not presidential qualities

I am quite astonished the media hasn’t used this against Palin.

      2) Other candidates could steal the spotlight

The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

      3) Momentum could be gone by waiting too long

The bus tour will take care of that

      4) More time for the MSM to pound "the celebrity meme" and that you are NOT a serious player

      True, but is it working?

      5) Risk of losing potential support (proselytization) but was co-opted by someone else

Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann have bled some support from Palin but it is not as big a problem that I first envisioned.

      6) Top operatives may be "taken" by candidates who entered early

Many of the top operatives taken would not be of any interest to Palin.

      7) Not being prepared for the first debate at the Reagan Library or not entering the debate and risk the accusation she has insulted Nancy Reagan

Sarah attended a charity function for wounded soldiers on the same day.

      8) Being attacked by your opponents while you are on the sidelines

Instead her opponents are trying to ignore the "800 pound gorilla in the room."

      9) Jokes about "when is God going to tell her to commit"

I wonder why they have not been forthcoming-scared of offending religious voters

      10) Less time to gain gravitas and political legitimacy while being in the arena

Sarah Palin has a 96% recognition rating according to Gallup. The bus tour will increase her gravitas and political legitimacy

Liberal vs Conservative: A Spiritual Battle

    By Lloyd Marcus

    Without
beating around the bush, I believe the battle being fought in America
    today goes beyond politics; right vs. left.  It is a spiritual battle;
    good vs evil.

    "For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places."  Ephesians 6:12

The mindset of the American left is a spirit of Antichrist which is man making himself God.

    Before
writing me off as a Bible nut, please hear me out.  Understanding this
reality will explain much of the left’s behavior.  Because they believe
man is God, in their insane arrogance, the left think they can fix
everything; legislate equal outcomes and even save or destroy the
    planet.

    Make
no mistake about it folks, we are in a spiritual battle.  Ask yourself.
Specifically, what about Sarah Palin inspires such visceral hatred from
the left?  The word is "wholesome."

    For
the most part, Palin promotes love for God, family and country.  She is
passionately determined to thwart Obama’s plan to "fundamentally
    transformed America."

Read the Rest here it’s Excellent

    I wrote this on Nov 21, 2010:

    Three presidential traits:

    1) Never sounded like an elitist or pretentious

    2) Associate with a wide variety of people and never feel uncomfortable or out of place

    3) Always a person of principle, intelligence in public

You would think I was referring to Sarah Palin but actually I was writing about Ronald Reagan after seeing him in the movie She’s Working Her Way Through College.

Perhaps Reagan and Palin do have much more in common than I first thought.

I went to "The Undefeated" FB page and liked it. Then I read the comments on the wall, and un-Liked it. I see mostly haters there. This is the second time I did this. Last time it looked like "The Undefeated" was Liking a comment linking to a compilation of anti-Palin bits, but I didn’t follow the link so I’m not sure. I’ll pass.

blackbird, that’s why the libs fear her. They KNOW the positive impact Sarah made on the 2008 race. The LSM, also know, but will never tell the public.

Andrea, that’s a great point. Romneycare/Obama are the same big government guys. The latest establishment GOP meme is, Romney is better than Obama. really, their both for universal health care, Global warming, bailing everyone out etc.. no difference to me!
