Obama Surrogates at New York Times and Washington Post Recruiting Palin-Haters to Dig for Dirt on Governor Palin; Updated: Sign Up to Help the MSM Read the Palin E-mails

New York Times: Help Us Investigate the Sarah Palin E-Mail Records

On Friday, the State of Alaska will release more than 24,000 of Sarah Palin’s e-mails covering much of her tenure as governor of Alaska. Times reporters will be in Juneau, the state capital, to begin the process of reviewing the e-mails, which we will be posting on nytimes.com starting on Friday afternoon E.D.T.

We’re asking readers to help us identify interesting and newsworthy e-mails, people and events that we may want to highlight. Interested users can fill out a simple form to describe the nature of the e-mail, and provide a name and e-mail address so we’ll know who should get the credit. Join us here on Friday afternoon and into the weekend to participate.

Washington Post: Help Anayze the Palin E-mails

Over 24,000 e-mail messages to and from former Alaska governor Sarah Palin during her tenure as Alaska’s governor will be released Friday. That’s a lot of e-mail for us to review so we’re looking for some help from Fix readers to analyze, contextualize, and research those e-mails right alongside Post reporters over the days following the release.

We are limiting this to just 100 spots for people who will work collaboratively in small teams to surface the most important information from the e-mails. Participants can join from anywhere with a computer and an Internet connection. Read more about how it will work.

Update: Stacy has a great idea:

ATTENTION PALINISTAS: If you have the time, volunteer at WaPo and at the NYTimes to go thru the Gov’s emails. You be the eyes not the haters

Update II: Via Josh Painter:

Wouldn’t it be interesting if some enterprising Palinista volunteered to go undercover and submitted applications to play in the Post’s pool of Palin plunderers? If you’ve always wanted to be a double agent, or if you would just like to bring a little bit of fairness andc balance to WaPo’s witch hunt fishing expedition, just follow the links.

Update III by Stacy: To get involved in this process, go here to volunteer for the New York Times, and here for Washington Post. ADN has also announced that they will be seeking help from the public to go through these messages, and will release details later today, so heads up.

There will be nothing in these emails for anyone to fear. However, that will not stop unscrupulous individuals from spinning them out of context in an effort to hurt the governor. She needs you guys to be the eyes looking over these, and not people who are determined to destroy her. Please get involved if you can.

That is remarkable.  They are not even trying to hide the fact that this is a witch hunt and their sole purpose in this exercise is to smear her and do whatever they can to make her look bad.  I guess you can say that at least they are being honest about their agenda now, whereas in the past they lied about it.

What’s next? All the text messages sent by A. Weiner? I think Not.

I’ll be happy to work for free for the NYTimes, WaPO, even Mother Jones if I get to read through all of Obama’s emails, Rahm Emanuel’s emails, Kathleen Sebelius, Janet Napolitano’s, and especially Eric Holder’s emails.

Wow. A stoop to a whole new low. Don’t the liberals at the Old York Times get paid to do what their asking non journalists to do.  Wow, I really wish these “journalists” would’ve been as concerned with going over the 2,000 page Obamacare bill than 25,000 of her emails.  I certainly hope they share their findings.  Like DeNiro said when he was playing Capone in the Untouchables “YOU GOT NUTTING!”-Mr.L

See what happens when you report propaganda. Their readership has plummeted, they are going broke, have laid off reporters and can’t afford to hire anyone, so they have to get the public to do their job for nothing since Dumb-Ø didn’t nationalize them yet. Hey, how’s that hope and change workin’ out for ya?

      • MaMcGriz

        You nailed it.

This is a desperate act of combined payback and exploitation by weakened members a dying breed.

Correct on the volunteer.  Show your qualifications.  I E-Mailed Jedediah Bila asking her to sign up.  Heck E-Mail Andrew Breitbart (Can they say he is not qualified at such things).  Heck write Mark Levin and tell him to sign up.  He is a constitutional Scholar.   We need to flood them with Palinistas and when none are picked throw it at them.

i like the comment to sign up.

First need to review The manual that leftists use before they call Rush (the seminar callers)so i can pass by the volunteer screener.

Follow Becks approach –ridicule and deflect the nonsense back
Follow Palin approach –great idea, lets also investigate the others what lsm is not doing.

And by the way, when are we going to investigate those 25000 emails send by leakers to the NYT and all interaction between Soros frontgroups and union mobsters with Obama?

But first i need to send a thank you note to the new york slimes and wp for reminding us on what we also can do.

Palins emails will be boring compared with Pelosi’s, reids and all other corrupt politicians emails that also has to be make public.

    I submitted the following application:

    *****************************************************
I am a Democrat who is a Palin supporter, who has also had experience writing for several news publications (e.g., San Diego Union Tribune) and am an occasional analyst for Fox Business News.

I would be delighted to help, as it is obvious to me the coverage by the elite media of Sarah Palin has been lacking in the rudiments of basic journalism: sticking to who, what, where, when, why and how.

Allow me to assist you in scouring the many emails, which will surely include such enlightening details as childcare arrangements, request for office supplies, and committee schedules that are surely going to offer meaningful insights that will improve life for Americans everywhere.  I think you will be truly living up to your 1st Amendment responsibilities in this endeavor!

I am a little concerned if I fail to participate that you will utilize professional reporters to look through the emails.  That means they won’t be able to cover such essential topics as the 61 Trillion in unfunded mandates hanging over our economy, the increasingly poor job news and the fact people have longer periods of unemployment in the Obama economy, continued involvement of the US in Libya and potential US actions in Yemen, and other key topics that your editors seem to rate secondary to uncovering some vast Palin scandal.  Therefore, I view helping you as my patriotic duty.

    ***********************************************
I suspect I won’t make the cut.  However, I think it sets the proper tone.

      Leslie,

I want to commend you for your obvious independence of thought if you are truly a Democrat who likes Sarah and can see through the media propaganda.

I know how bad it is in California, especially LA and San Fran.  I guess SD still has a loyal contingency of Patriots.

Please keep plugging away.  And good luck in this endeavor.  She needs honest helpers here.

      Thanks!

      • http://twitter.com/Mutnodjmet Leslie Eastman

Thanks for your kind words!  I think it’s is no longer DEM vs REP, it is “Country Class” vs “Ruling Class”.  I am hoping to persuade other Democrats of this, and have made good strides in doing so — which is why I remain a registered Democrat.

Nice comment, Leslie. Spread the word in San Diego, girl. I think there might be quite a few closet Palin fans. One of my dear friends is a Sarah fan in Carlsbad … She is a former liberal like me. We both were SHOCKED to discover we had converted to the Tea Party. Ha ha.

Meanwhile, the WaPo and NYT are looking for volunteers to help carry the boxes of 0bama emails, medical records, education records, etc. to the incinerater.  Naturally, they will have to be blindfolded first so as to not even catch a glimpse of the contents.

Unbelievable!  This feels like a hoax.
This is 3rd column in red on Drudge but I’d put it in headlines with the siren. Seriously, this is a big step over the line for the 4th estate.Who has this ever been done to? I expect the media to act lowly but I have to admit that this suprises me.

OK , time to sign up as a NYT “researcher”.

It is common practice to do an open records request on politicians emails. Most of them have had this happen at one time or another. The only difference here, and why its making news is because the state of Alaska has gone to court trying to keep the emails from the public. So naturally people are assuming there is something in them that is damaging, otherwise why would Alaska go to so much trouble to keep them. Add the fact that in this day and age that they also refuse to release them in electronic copies but only in paper copers, costing a bit over $700 bucks a pop. There is a company that is going to scan them in and create a searchable database for free, like they did with the last set of emails. I will definately wait for that. But you can gaurantee that with all the drama surrounding the release this will be the top story for awhile.

    • Anonymous

No body went to court to stop any emails you clown.

Citizens use FOIA for specific releases about specific subjects or bills.

This was a fishing expedition request demanding ALL emails.

      That is unreasonable.

It required state employees to spend 1000s of hours redacting confidential state information.

It is an abuse of FOIA and what FOIA stands for.

      But you knew that.

      You’re not at all independent.

      Stop hiding.

      how about Senator Obama’s?

Open record means public records.  These are Palin’s personal emails.  Big difference.

If anybody has the time, please sign up to go through these emails. There is nothing in these emails, but that won’t stop the leftist press from trying to spin hit-pieces out of them. This is a witch-hunt, plain and simple. You guys be the eyes for the governor.

    • Karl Rogue

Sarah should have her own people go through these, so she doesn’t get ambushed with an email she hasn’t seen in years if ever.

Her attorney already has gone through these e-mails and there is nothing there…there….
or Palin or her attorney would have it out front and Palin wouldn’t be investing all this time and money traveling around the country, buying a house, etc.

Does anyone know how to let Trump know about this???  He could have a field day with this crap.

Also…This will really help Palin…all she has to do or her staff is say….NOW YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF WHY I HAD TO RESIGN MY POSITION….THIS IS THE KIND OF CRAP I HAD TO PUT UP WITH AND SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO DEFEND MYSELF…

        • Karl Rogue

Her attorney already has gone through these e-mails

If that is so, then why does this post say
“She needs you guys to be the eyes looking over these, and not people who
are determined to destroy her. Please get involved if you can.”

If Sarah’s people have already been through the emails and know whats there, whats the point of asking us to go through them for her?

And if she hasn’t gone through them already, she should have someone do it for her rather than ask people to pitch in for the WAPO.

If you are going to get involved w WAPO, the only mission can be to slow them down and mislead them.  Which is ultimately pointless.

          • Anonymous

I have no idea why they are saying that.  And, I don’t know why anyone would sign up to go through these e-mails.  What would you do with anything you found out???  I read earlier some place where her attorney went through the e-mails…and all the e-mails were heavly blacked out and made little sense.  This is a witch hunt.  Like I said earlier….why would she be doing all this other stuff if she was concerned???

          • lanahi

Sarah hasn’t asked anyone to go through them for WAPO or anyone else, idiot!

I really think this is to Palin’s advantage…..it is a great example of why she had to resign for her State’s sake as well as her and her family’s sake.  Palin is not stupid…she would not put her family through all this and buy a 2 million dollar house, etc. and know that she was going to be caught with her hand in the cookie jar.   Sure the MSM is going to make a big deal out of an ant hill…but so what…

I completely forgot about those insane US magazine covers. Those two covers side-by-side woke up a whole lot of people that had previously ignored the blatant one-sided press coverage between Obama and Palin.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. That image led to many thousands reevaluating their perception of the media.
