Palin: Another "WTF" Obama Foreign Policy Moment

Via Facebook:

As Governor I fought the Obama Administration’s plans to cut funds for missile defense in Alaska. So imagine how appalled and surprised I was to read this article by former Clinton CIA Director James Woolsey, appropriately titled “Giving Away the Farm,” concerning President Obama’s latest bizarre actions relating to missile defense.

President Obama wants to give Russia our missile defense secrets because he believes that we can buy their friendship and cooperation with this taxpayer-funded gift. But giving military secrets and technologies to a rival or competitor like Russia is just plain dumb. You can’t buy off Russia. And giving them advanced military technology will not create stability. What happens if Russia gives this technology (or sells it!) to other countries like Iran or China? After all, as Woolsey points out, Russia helped Iran with its missile and nuclear programs. Or what happens if an even more hardline leader comes to power in the Kremlin?

We tried buying off the Kremlin with technologies in the 1970s. That policy was a component of “detente,” and the hope was that if we would share our technologies with them, they would become more peaceful. Things, of course, didn’t work out that way. The Kremlin took western technologies and embarked on a massive military building program. History teaches that peace comes from American military strength. And a central component of that has always been technological superiority. Why would President Obama even dream of giving this away?

Members of Congress saw how foolish President Obama’s gambit was, so they put a section in the defense appropriation bill that specifically forbids the federal government from spending money to share these technologies with the Kremlin. President Obama actually threatened to veto the defense appropriation bill over this section of the law! Fortunately, the House passed the bill with a veto-proof majority, a whopping 322 to 96. Attention now turns to the Senate.

Why is it that President Obama seems to work so hard to give things to our enemies, while at the same time asking friends and allies like Israel to make sacrifices?

During these tough economic times when we are facing massive deficits and a competitive global economy, does President Obama really want to give away technologies that the American taxpayer paid lots of money to develop? Giving away our missile defense secrets won’t make us safer. What it will do is create a situation where we are facing an arms race with ourselves. Russia gets access to our technologies, and we are forced to spend even more money because of the need to stay ahead. Does this make sense to you? Me neither. File this under “WTF.”

– Sarah Palin

Update: She added this reminder to her statement

*As many readers have pointed out “WTF” is for “Winning The Future,” President Obama’s re-election campaign slogan.

Seems to me, giving our defense secrets to the Russians should be grounds for impeachment.

Both, and I would apply that to wanting to give vital defense secrets to any foreign country except maybe our staunchest allies.  Even then I wouldn’t tell them any more than is absolutely necessary.

    • Anonymous

It didn’t stop Bill Clinton allowing our military secrets to go to China.  Democrats are so far off the reservation they think we will allow this.  So far we have.  What will we do?
Good for Sarah for bringing attention to this.  I hope she talks about it all of the time.  The brain dead among us should be aware–eventually.  Will it be too late?  IDK.

    • Anonymous

Not just impeachment, but people usually go to jail for giving our military secrets away.

Of course. Imagine if a DOD employee was caught doing the same thing. The Russians don’t need moles in the DOD when they have Dudley Dimwit in the WH.

And Sarah is supposedly the one who knows nothing about foreign policy!!! What do you say about this one, Dr. K????  O’s naivety regarding foreign affairs is,quite frankly, stunning. Actually now that I think about it, it’s quite understandable given his Marxist upbringing.  Listen all you RINO’s, Sarah is the WISE one regarding foreign policy.  I would trust her implicitly to do the right thing as POTUS, and the first thing is that she would not sell  America out! With Sarah  in the White House, America could feel much more secure. And not only feel much more secure, but in fact actually BE stronger and more secure.

How bout Mittens? My ears pinging the ground if there’s something, anything he can contribute to this discussion. I forgot he suppose to lay low now that his numbers are surging according to FOX headline news yesterday. it even surpassed da One’s rating. Imagine that!

I think I better take out this magnet- device my kids carry around to the beach, in search of lost or dropped coins- a treasure hunt of sorts. This gets them occupied and have fun.

Meantime I will have fun too while I wait for MB, TPAW and the others. On the same token, it will not be a surprise  the band of followers will copy her of course by making and adding comments  which  the networks will make sure whoever is their  preferred choice will surely be praised as the first to comment on the issue. Once again the governor according to ChuckK will need to study somemore. His assignment is on the way. Don’t know if the assigment will be an essay, matching, or, true or false type questions.

ChuckK demands clear, crisp, and pointed substantive knowledge about this issue since she is the first among the candidates to mention.;oops not first, Instead will say she had tthe nerve to talk about this very sensitive issue ( CK will refuse to say she wrote about this issue). I remember the governor had a Journalism degree while CK is a psychiatrist.

I don’t think he wants to ‘buy’ their friendship.  I think he just wants to plain destroy this country.

As bad as the Democrats are, the Republican Establishment is giving us NO reason to vote in more Republicans. The voters might not distinguish Teaparty Republicans from Establishment Republicans. Maybe it’s time Teaparty does form a third party to challenge the GOP directly. Otherwise we may end up with a President Palin and a Democrat controlled House and Senate, which would prevent her from accomplishing anything.

He also seems to be trying to destroy our military.   In addition to serving in dozens of areas all over the world, he now has them in 3 very active war zones(Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya)  they publicly acknowledge, and covert forces in Pakistan and Yemen.
IMO, He is spreading the military out so thin in an attempt to severely weaken them and the US.

Great piece. Now some history for our younger crowd. Just like Barack Obama, Ronald Reagan offered to share technology research for our future missile defense system with Mikhail Gorbachev of the Soviet Union. This was in 1986 during the Reykjavic Summit. I remember at the time thinking he had lost it. Absolutely insane idea, but Reagan was very idealistic about eliminating nukes. That’s a common misconception about Reagan. Yes he was a huge anti-Communist but he hated nukes, and SDI was his answer to eliminate them. Gorby insisted that any deal to reduce short and intermediate range missiles in Europe (our Pershing IIs, their SS 20s) would be contingent on Reagan ending SDI.  Reagan refused. Instead he offered to give SDI away to the USSR, thus rendering our own missiles as useless as theirs. Needless to say this was politically unpopular among the base. ("*&$# my *%$#, he said what?!")

But, when Gorby saw that we had all the money in the world and could spend whatever it took to get a functioning missile defense system, he knew the game was up. We did get the INF treaty in 87 and  the CFE treaty shortly thereafter, and the Cold War quickly ended over the next 4 years. Nonetheless, Reagan’s offer to share missile defense with the Soviets has to go down as one of the biggest missteps of his presidency, for just the reasons Sarah gives here.

And the difference between the current occupant of the WH and Reagan? Reagan did not try to undermine the country. IOW, this was one of maybe two or three mis-steps during 8 years.

This is par for the course for Comrade Obama who has a deep-seated hatred for anything and everything American.  Recall, it was Obama who, SINGLEHANDEDLY, got bin Laden.  We know this because Obama told us so.

Vets like me who have done classified work for practically their entire professional careers are WORRIED BIG TIME about what is being reported all to often, per this thread.  Our nation’s security is not on Obama’s radar as our enemies are his friends and vice-versa, and that’s a very serious situation, folks!
I, as a Vietnam Era Navy Veteran, have no intention whatsoever of thanking someone who is so shameless as to politicize the death of a terrorist as if he, alone, were responsible for same. The only "bounce" such people deserve is to be bounced out of office ASAP because they disgrace the office entrusted to them by "we the people."
Obama’s call for "unity" is hypocritical in the extreme as where was the unity on the part of the Democrats, who are now indistinguishable from communists in their willful trashing of The Constitution, when the Bush Administration was making every effort in defense of America to make this day possible since 9/11? There wasn’t even the hint of unity as Obama led the charge in attempting to stifle everything that President Bush and Vice-President Cheney were doing, which is a matter of the public record!
To brag about a "mother lode on intel" as the Obamunists are doing is unconscionable.
Being a former member of the Naval Security Group Command during the Vietnam War, I can tell you unequivocally that anyone who has worked with a security clearance knows that you don’t give away sensitive information like this, which is par for the course for the Obamunists who couldn’t care less, thereby telegraphing to the enemy that which could have been used against them to great effect!
This only goes to further prove that Obama is all about Obama, in "See what I DID," to heck with the consequences! Moreover, in the Navy for the Country that I served, such actions would be treasonable acts with the guilty parties summarily sent to Leavenworth!
Lest we forget, before anyone believes that Obama deserves thanks for anything, review the following links which clearly show that our military is NOT a priority for Obama who couldn’t care less!

I am of the view that it is essential that Governor Palin be part of the national discourse during the GOP primaries.

The question is where can she have the most significant effect; from without or from within. I have no reservation about Palin as our president. I do have concern that as a contender for that office her voice will be overshadowed by an endless assault by the left, drowning out substance.

Staying out of the compettion allows Palin to have a national voice through FOX and any appearances she makes on behalf of the candidate she ultimately supports. Certainly there is someone out there, that with Pain’s support. can ignite the imagination of America, and defeat Obama.

In my mind true supporters of Sarah Plain will stand solidly behind her no matter what she decides. And so it is and so it shall be.

    • Anonymous

Hardly. If she decides to run ( hint ) she will have no problem with getting her message out and she will decide who interviews her. She’ll do just fine.

    • puma_for_life

      You support the cheerleader role?

      • Anonymous

I support Sarah Palin to be in that place where she can be the most effective. There is too much at stake for any other approach. Attachment to an agenda or outcome is not the way to go in  my view.

If we trust Palin, then going with her vision should be easy.

        • Anonymous

If she were a cheerleader, she would have maybe 1% of the effectiveness she would have as a candidate and then as President.  For anyone to suggest otherwise is naive or dishonest.

          • Anonymous

The results she achieved in the 2010 Mid-Terms say otherwise.

            • Anonymous

Comparing midterm elections and a Presidential election is ridiculous. The dynamics are different on so many levels, it’s not even worth discussing.

            • Anonymous

Maybe but she didn’t have a choice about running for president at that time. So your response illustration lacks factual similarity.

              • Anonymous

True there was no office Palin was interested in seeking in 2010.

Nor is there this time. Palin has been clear that if a candidate emerges she can fully support, that is where she will go. A "fighter" is what she is looking for to go into battle for the Restoration of America and its values.

FOX has FEC regulations to comply with and they have not asked Palin to resign yet, nor given her a deadline for a decision like they did with other candidate/cmmentators. That is another indicatro that Palin is at least an undecided mode.

Based on the information I have read this is where things stand with Sarah Palin. Perhaps Iowa will show new directions.

                • pgroup

I promise you she has made her decision and it’s a go. Keeping that decision tentative and confidential is how she makes sure she never has to walk the cat back. It remains tentative because things happen in a family that could keep her from running (such as Todd or one of her kids getting seriously injured and requiring constant care).

But there is nobody who can dislodge the first black president except the first woman president and she knows it. Certainly no white male is going to do it regardless of how qualified he is.

Her decision remains confidential because she understands on a deep intimate level just how committed and loyal her "peeps" are. She does not want to hurt us or have us get any more worked up than we already are before she squeezes the trigger. This is a woman who knows how to sit and wait in a blind while we are mostly city dwellers accustomed to a fast paced environment.

                  Palin 2012. Powder is dry.

                  • ramorywebb

I promise you Palin will not run. If Palin has made her decision as you say then she is lying to America and that is a moral flaw I do not want in the next president.

                    That makes her powder wet.

                  • pgroup

I agree that if elected a President Palin would be good for America.

The recent events have been soley interupted by some that Palin is running, rather than simply take her at face value when she says she wants to bring focus to our history so we are aware what is at stake.

It is a very fluid enviroment right now so I guess we will see what doors open and which ones close.

At this point if she doesn’t run, her bully pulpit won’t be so bully anymore, and her influence will erode. I think she should run win, lose or draw. In the unlikely event that she doesn’t win, her influence remains strong, as there will be many I told ya so moments in the aftermath. For her, if she runs she wins at some level (as do we all). If she doesn’t we are all the worse off for it.

    • Anonymous

The idea that Sarah Palin can stay out of the competition and continue to have the strength in the national discourse that she currently enjoys is nonsense.  Much of the intense interest in her comes from the possibility that she may be the next President of the United States.  Take that away and you turn down the volume on her megaphone.

As a pundit and commentator, she will still have a voice but nothing like what she has now.  We have lots of pundits and commentators, they don’t have the level of attention she does.  Make no mistake, her potential for being President is a big part of her support, we do not all blog on conservatives for Rush, although he’s a long term influential voice.

I suspect that in like manner Governor Huckabee will find interest in his show fading as he is no longer in the game, of course that may be why he’s starting to hint that he might, under some circumstances get back in.  A potential future president attracts more interest than a pundit.

    Hi there My American Friends.

I’d like to take advantage of being one of the first posters her and make to you

I know that the publishers of c4p dont’t have a dirct contact with Sarah, however you have an acces with Rebeca Mansour, so I urge you to to contact her and convince her to persuade Sarah to abandon her plan to visit that tragic part of the world.

Below I want to present my argument why sarah MUST NOT go o Sudan.

I don’t have to tell you how importantto America is the election of sarah as her next President.

However, in exuberance about Sarah’s latest fortunes, you forget that her eventual election to the position of POTUS is also an affair of a global significance.

The jabbering heads like Krauthammer, Rove, Rollins, Rubin and many others with their desintegrating moralities and fading intellects will try to diminish, ridicule and belittle Sarah but the heas of the totalitarian regimes:  Putin, Hu Jin Tao, Ahmadinejad, Chavez and their minions are watching HER raise with an increasing unease.

They know that her ascendancy to the position of the President will mean a tectonic shift in the international political, economic and military relations".

It shal be a global "game changer"of truly epic proportions.

They know that it shall be a game in which as Sarah herself has said "We win, they loose".

At the present, the US is transfering almost a trilion dollars to her enemies, for oil, cheep crap from China and drugs.

With sarah ascendancy that trilion shall remain in America and that means that those regimes will start falling appart likie houses of cards.

For them it is amatter of life and death. So it is for you and by an extension for all of us.

For trilion dollars, those regimes will destroy the entire nations without blinking their eyes.

For that sum they shall, for sure, NOT HESITATE to murder sarah together with her entire family.

They have contingency plans to deal with her, that is more than certain, however, doing any harm for her or her family on the American soil would be counterproductive as it would enrage the Yanks, unite the majority of them and would result in the election of someone more militant than Sarah herself.

Her announced visit in Sudan provides them with an unique opportunity of destroying her once for all without bearing any consequence for such a crime.

in Sudan she will be totally exposed to an organised terrorist attack where even a company of marines wouldn’s be able to defend her.

The decision to travel there is noble, courageous but recless and I’m appaled that Franklin Graham asked her to accompany him in such a trip.

Graham is anoble humanitarian but he is also a political (sorry for a strong word) imbecille.

If you think that I’m paranoidal that I fantasise or try to play Sarah’s savior or attempt to impose myself somehow on her to gain a 15 minutes of fame on c4p, want you to ponder the fact that just only last year the Polsih President Lech Kaczynski together with the entire political and military leadership have died in air disaster near Smolensk in Belorussia (a vasal of Russia) and only complete morons still believe that it was an accident.

Lerch kaczynski was a most courageous of the European heads of states and the leader of the movement opposing the dominance of resurgent and increasingly totalitarian Russia.

Also in the recent years a huge deposits of shale oil, esily accessible have been discovered in Poland that would not only garantee Polan’d’s energy independance but would make that contry a energy exporter.

It stood directly in Russia’s way to become the sole provider of energy materials to the Europe and the leader of the mega oil and gas cartel of which Russia is fighting to become a leader.

If Putin and his cohort didn’t hesitate to incinerate the entire Polish leadership, do you really think that they will hesitate with murdering Sarah?

As I mentioned above, it is not only Russsia that is interested, FUNDAMENTALLY INTERESTED in Sarah not becoming the US President.

It is a matter of life and death for Ahmadinejad, Hu Jin tao, Chavez and many other monsters of their kind.

It shall be unforgivable if she goes there and something happens to her.

Do you think that Obama will bother with conducting any serious investigation and bringing the perpetrators to justice?

And even if he did that, so what? SARAH WILL BE NO MORE!

And you know as well as I do that she is IREPLACABLE.

Do something about that. Contact Rebeca Mansour, copy and paste my post, add your own observations and thoughts, sent to her and beg her to speak to Sarah.

    God Bless sarah palin!

    God Bless America!

True, Sarah is literally a Godsend!

Also, Jesus had said that "God helps those who help themselves".

That also means not incurring unnecessary risks.

Additionally,  I have to say that I see no purpose in this trip to the Sudan, frankly.

Also, had not Franklin Graham come out for someone else other than Sarah, lately?

This after she had given him a big boost by visiting him and giving him a helping hand in Haiti?

GW Bush wasted over $4 billion of American taxpayer’s money  on Africa – more precisely, money that we had borrowed from the Chinese, on which we are paying interest.

It is always so easy, and politicians are ever so adept at it, being charitable with other people’s money.

        As the saying goes:

        Charity begins at home.

In our case, that’s the good ole’ USA.

Africa is a rich continent, very fertile, plenty of land for everyone, lots of gold, diamonds, coal, oil, everything to provide for the needs of its people in abundance.

The only thing that is missing is  sound, honest, peaceful governance.

Stop the violence, end the corruption, practice democracy and hold and respect the outcome of free elections.

And that they have to learn for themselves.

It is time for us  to wash our hands of Africa, the Mideast and all these unstable regions, where we are not liked, not wanted in anycase, stop being the  Good Samaritan – haven’t we for long enough, all the untold billions we have given away?

Stop being the paymaster, and the policeman to all these countries, and put our own country, America, first!

Guys, we’re flat broke, in hock up to our geezers, and it is time for us to call a halt to all this nonsense  and start thinking of Number One!

        That’s us.

The Polish disaster was — at the very least — suspicious. And to trust the likes of Vladimir Putin is pure foolishness (and yes, I still cringe to think that Bush had him over at the ranch). Yet, given that the visit will in all likelihood be to the southern part of the country, soon to be independent, I rather doubt that the inimical powers you mention could operate there along the lines you suggest.

That said — I’ll breathe a sigh of relief once I hear that she’s flown clear of that region.

Amsterdam, they operate everywhere and along the lines I described. Just listen to or read any interview with any KGB or FSB defector.

One has remember that KGB is the most barbaric, genocidal terrorist organisation of all time.

It has blood of twenty milion people on its hands and its operative, Vasilij Blokhin was the most efficient murderer in history who has killed personally, by his own account, fifty thousand people.

The KGB has also conducted an assassination on the Pope John Paul II and nobody has been even brought to justice.

Appart from that, there is nothing sucpicious about the Smolensk disaster. It was a political murder of the XXI century. Simple as that.

And for the same reason, they will be interested in liquidating Sarah.

The only difference is that sarah is uncomparably more dangerous to the regimes I mentioned above than Lech Kaczynski was.

You take my warning too lightly and that makes me a bit dissapointed.

It is really that difficult to do something about that and contact RAM?

It is always better to be cautious than sorry…

No worries on the typos bogdan !!!  I see her freely moving about the USA and I worry about one of these nutjobs….  I hope she has a crack security team shadowing her everywhere.  That stupid comedian and his grassy knoll comment angers me big time….  No fallout whatsover for a direct threat. Yes I know he was just bloviating for laughs but there are many out there that would do it.  MLK …..dont forget. He was hated for being tranformational.

I’ll admit that they idea of Sarah going to Sudan makes me a bit nervous. But then again I don’t know anything about whatever security precautions are planned for the trip.

The Almighty is in control of her life. He will provide her with a Shield and the Armor of TRUTH will protect he her.

    • Hefmier

We don’t even know if she is going to the Sudan because of an invitation by Franklin Graham.

I am a believer in the Hebrew Bible and its history of the Hebrew people. Almighty God has always protected His people, the Hebrews.

Sarah is a Biblical Hebrew, whether she knows it or not. Everything she has ever done is consistent with my statement. So she is spiritually protected no matter what.

You, of course, are concerned with her physical protection. I share your concern and I see no value to the trip. What Graham can provide to those people can be provided by anyone – it does not need Sarah to succeed.

At the point in life where a person becomes an active servant of Almighty God, that person must forfeit all else in order to properly discharge God’s mission. Unless there is an aspect of saving America that is integral to going on this trip, I doubt that it is God’s will that she go. That assumes, of course, that she has been chosen by God for a mission. (see the Book of Jonah).

I can assure you that this site is monitored by Sarah’s close advisors and much advice they give her originates here. So your message has been received, both by the Sarah inner circle (which includes security guards) and by God himself.

We must have faith that those two forces working together, one in the physical and one in the spiritual, are more than sufficient to protect our next President.

God bless Sarah Palin and God bless you for caring enough to say what you said.

If Barack Hussein Obama were to give our nation’s military secrets to the Russians – or to any other nation, for that matter – then in that event  all patriotic Americans should descend en masse upon the  White House taking their weapons with them, they should enter and arrest said Barack Hussein Obama, immediately constitute a court of popular justice, and try him under a bill of High Treason, subject to the death penalty.

Ditto all members of his marxist administration that are party to such an act of treason.
