Politico Suggests that Rick Perry Won’t Run if Governor Palin Does/Open Thread

Here’s the news.

Rick Perry won’t run if Governor Palin does.

Roger Ailes claims that Governor Palin told him that she’d decide on a run this summer.

“For example, her chat with local patrons at a coffee shop in Pennsylvania and her inquiries to workers at a New Hampshire fishery were done without the phony air of forced conversation for the benefit of the press that typically pervades such political photo ops.”

Fox News has apologized for its error.

It’s good for the Governor that one of the people vouching for her in the Undefeated movie gained a whole lot of credibility today.

Althouse asks:

Is there anyone else in American public life who is treated like Sarah Palin? Here’s this historian, forced to say she wasn’t wrong — after all the Sarah-haters have mocked her — and he instinctively grasps for a way to knock her down again. If she got something right, it must just have been an accident.

    Sarah Palin will blow the rest of them out of the water. I think Michelle Bachmann did alot of harm to herself by hiring a hateful guy like Ed Rollins from CNN as a Campaign Manager, he has said some horrible things about Sarah Palin, he is a major insider and does not represent Tea Party Values.

        In regard to this article, McCain did not choose Sarah after a 15 minute interview. The 15 minute interview actually happend a few months BEFORE McCain’s Campaign contacted Sarah, and it took place in DC, not McCain’s Ranch in Sedona. The interview in Sedona was much longer than 15 minutes.
        Second Sarah’s appearances after the Tucson shootings was not “all about Sarah”. That Saturday morning of the shooting, she was minding her business back in Wasilla when she was forced into the spotlight by the left-wing pundits. He also calls Sarah’s “Blood Libel” comments as “incindiary”.

      She is betting that RomneyCare  will get the nomination, and ask her to be his VP, so that, he hopes, she will being in the Palinistas, the Tea Party, and the core conservative voters.

      She also figues that if RomneyCare loses to Obama – which he surely will – she will inherit the pole position – become the “Palin” for 2016.

      Bachmann is as foolishly illusional as she is unscrupulous and ungrateful.

    Perry and Sarah are very good friends for many years now so this might be true!  Otherwise, anybody believing that Sarah will be changing her campaign strategy because of MB or somebody else is going to be disappointed.  Sarah is a marathon runner and not a sprinter…

            Sorry, I was out for the evening.

            MB made a deal with Romney awhile back.  Long before Rollins was involved but there is no way she can risk that leaking to the press.  Rollins would not have taken the job if he thought she wasn’t in it to win it.  Campaigns are miserable when the candidate is just pretending and fundraising is even tougher. No campaign manager wants that on their record.  

            Now, Rollins most likely did not hear from MB that she is Romney’s stalking horse BUT he is a Bushie/Establishment crony and he may have been tasked with the job of making sure MB takes as much of Sarah’s vote as possible. So while they have the same goal, it is for different reasons and different payoffs.

            Wonder what Romney promised Michele?
