Guest submission by: James Spencer
My name is James Spencer and I am a final year History and Politics student at the University of Nottingham, England. As part of the final examination process for politics I was asked to write a 12,000 word essay on a topic of my choosing. Being an avid follower of American politics and a keen Thatcherite-Conservative here in the UK, my natural first choice was to write my thesis on Sarah Palin. After doing some initial research, I found that a lot of the academic articles written about her had a distinct lefist bias, moreover the Articles I found in many current affairs journals were even worse! This, I thought, had to change!
After much planning and consideration I decided to analyse the Palin/Feminism debate, arguing that Sarah Palin represents the very essence of a modern feminist. Although a card carrying member of the Conservative Party, I tried by best to make this essay as fair and balanced as possible. Please find attached a copy of the thesis, I hope it is of interest to you and your readers. Let me know what you think.
