Hannity: I’d Vote for Palin in a Heartbeat/Thursday Open Thread

Mr. L: Palin, David, Goliath, and the five stones.

Here’s the Rita Crosby interview with Bannon that was linked the other day.

Bannon’s Blogger’s Briefing in You Tube form. Pass the You Tube link around.

And this is hilarious. A caller won’t vote for Palin because she had a TV show.

Drill, baby….

Who will leave first, Weiner or Rollins?

Three Dem Fleebagers to face recall elections.

I rode down to Madison with the Republican who turned Democrat to be a spoiler in a Wisconsin recall election.

Geeze, I really really wish Sarah would call into the BAM show today.  Just a little tease, you don’t have to announce today.

Sarah, if you’re reading this, please call BAM today – the call would go viral.  Give us a sign.

    Wouldn’t that be awesome !

      who is BAM?

The Bob and Mark radio show in Anchorage, AK.  Palin had told them if she announces they’d be the first to know.

    Good Morning Palin Patriots,

There has been an uptick of trolls infecting our site and I fear it is only going to get worse.  Let’s all try to adopt the IGNORE and FLAG philosophy.  Do not engage or answer these people. Just FLAG them.  This is a PRO PALIN site.

And mods, do your job.  Those of us who come here, do so because it is the one place where we can support Sarah without the constant hate filled bashing of her.  Let this be a Soros, LSM, looney left, establishment , free zone when it comes to those posting.

New statistics and figures were published today concerning the Greek economy, and it’s looking pretty bad. This is a story that bears watching, especially given that the US is one of that country’s main creditors — John Frank drew attention to this here yesterday.

That caller on the talk radio show….bet he makes moonshine in his backyard.  BJ’s ok, but not a show about your state.  Can’t fix stupid.

Hannity is about the only Fox show I watch anymore unless Gov. Palin is on.  I like The Willis Report on Fox Business and that’s about it.

    Mara Liasson, again on the Bret Baier All Star panel lied to the viewers saying Romneycare was good at creating jobs. He in fact was horrendous;

    http://www.alternet.org/teaparty/151180/romney%27s_failing_grade_as_governor%3A_massachusetts_ranked_47th_in_job_growth_while_he_was_governor/

What Romney leaves out of his stump speech, however, is just how bad his state’s job creation statistics were during his four years as governor. Different job creation studies rank Massachusetts in the bottom four states during Romney’s administration. A study by the independent think tank MassINC ranked the state 49th in job creation from 2001-2007, ahead of only Michigan. And according to the U.S. Department of Labor, Massachusetts ranked 47th, ahead of only Michigan, Ohio, and Louisiana. Michigan and Ohio, both located in the Rust Belt, faced heavy job losses due to the flight of manufacturing jobs from the Midwest. Louisiana, meanwhile, lost hundreds of thousands of jobs in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
During Romney’s period as governor, Massachusetts’ job growth was just 0.9 percent, well behind other high-wage, high-skill economies in New York (2.7), California (4.7), and North Carolina (7.6). The national average, meanwhile, was better than 5 percent.
Andrew Sum, an economist at Northeastern University, researched Romney’s job record and found that Massachusetts lagged on virtually every economic indicator during his time in office, as he told Reuters in 2008:

“As a strict labor market economist looking at the record, Massachusetts did very poorly during the Romney years“, he said. “On every measure you’ve got, the state was a substantial under-performer.”

As Pat Garofalo notes, Romney’s record in the private sector is equally unimpressive.

Mara Liasson and others lie about Romneycare creating jobs, in fact, his incompetance kills jobs. Look at his record!

Kind of says a lot about his loyalties, doesn’t it?

Edit: I think it runs a lot deeper than misogyny … its class bigotry. I finally identified it when speaking to various RINO-type friends. Its more that she talks funny to them, and really went to 5 schools, and speaks in phrases etc. … they are more comfortable with the patrician sounding Romney.

Sounds like Romney is holding his nose while speaking. They are into that … not the “you betcha” stuff. That’s my take anyway.

Yesterday I wrote that if the ordinary barbarians and Palinistas could do one thing only and well over the course of the GOP primary campaign it would be to impress with the strongest advocacy on whoever you engage, assuming he or she is a potential GOP primary voter, whether it be family, friends, neighbors, club associates, acquaintances, work colleagues or anybody you see on a regular basis as part of your life routine, that the GOP presidential primary race is now and will be a two person showdown between Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin and that only one of those two candidates has any chance of walking away with the nomination next year.

I will now say when you adopt such an intractable personal attitude or such a firm political position, you will most likely encounter tremendous resistance to this idea from many quarters, as any inventor or creative genius in the past would in meeting with stiff resistance from authorities when he or she proposed a new or improved method of approaching a subject, wanted to being clarity or rectitude to an issue, or improve the efficiency of what now was being performed inefficiently or not with the utmost efficiency.

Simply, nobody likes to be forced or feel forced to change due to changing circumstances. It is always much easier to procrastinate, rationalize, or hold out false hope like a child begging his or her dead parent to open his or her eyes one more time.

Let me offer you 5 possible reactions you might receive from those you engage:

    1) They will tell you your logic is flawed, that it is still too early in the primary season to make that type of judgment or that the polls are meaningless at this point.

Answer: The decision of Mike Huckabee to bow out of the race changed the lay of land fundamentally. Except for Mitt Romney bowing out there is nobody currently in the field who has the potential to make that type of splash or impact again in this election cycle. In other words, taking Sarah Palin out of the equation for the time being, the dynamic of the race is pretty well set: Mitt Romney leading the rest of the field by double digits and the second-tier candidates jockeying among themselves who will finish second to Romney. Under these circumstances, Romney is certain to be the nominee. How do you feel about that? If they say great, then there is nothing more to be said. If they suggest one of the second tier candidates can move up, refer them to the pollinsider.com piece posted yesterday on why Palin is the only candidate capable of “derailing Romney” because they simply do the not have the wherewithal to compete financially or the ground game to compete with Romney who has spent the last 2+ years getting his ducks in a row. Being behind Romney by 15 points is just too much of a deficit for any of them to overcome.

    2) As I mentioned yesterday someone who has brand loyalty to a product or service is very difficult to sell or convert. And in politics, a committed supporter to a candidate and especially a supporter who has donated to the candidate will be hard to convert on one meeting and you will most likely be rebuffed.

Answer:  I would suggest that you plant the seed and then get back to the person at a later date to see how they perceive the race then or you never know one day several months later the light might go one and you will either get a phone call or a text message that he or she now wants to talk about becoming a Palinista. That is why it is important to sow the seeds regardless if you are initially successful or not.

    3) Sarah Palin is NOT running or is NOT a viable candidate

Answer; Again go back to your original premise. Do you want Romney to be the GOP nominee in 2012?  If they say no, then explain to them why Sarah Palin is the only alternative. Here is where you have to have the polling data at your disposal, why Sarah Palin is the only alternative to Romney and explain the tea leaves to why you are sure she is running.

As to how viable a candidate she is, one good point to mention is that nobody else in the field is as viable as she is to oppose Romney: fundraising ability, organization (O4P), grassroots support and ability to grow exponentially and having all her ducks in a row,

    4) I like another conservative candidate

Answer: Explain the stalking horse-concept and vote splitting and that if you vote for Romney (door #1) or vote for another conservative besides Palin (door #2) you will still get Romney. And the only way to ensure you do not get Romney as the nominee is you must vote Palin. It is a Hobson’s choice for those who oppose Romney.

Yes many people you talk to in these stark terms will get upset at you for saying it and might even accuse you of being presumptuous but there is an old saying no risk, no reward.

Accept the fact you will not get through to everyone but if you make the proper argument on conservative vote splitting and stalking-horses and show how it would cause Romney to come up the middle and prevail, I do believe some folks will eventually have to agree your logic is sound although they are fighting it as well, wanting to hold out hope Bachmann, Cain or Santorum will catch on.

Of course you know they won’t and I would suggest that you say to the person, when you realize they don’t have any chance of beating Romney to give you a call or think seriously about entering Palin’s tent.

    5) I don’t like Palin; I think she is damaged goods

Answer: Always go back to the question: Do you want Romney to get the nomination?

Because if you don’t, you only have one choice and one choice only. You must vote for Sarah Palin despite the fact you have misgivings or reservations about her. Vote any other way and Mitt Romney wins the nomination.

Again people will fight you on this and say it isn’t fair that the nomination has come down to this proposition.

Tell them life isn’t fair and just because you are a Palinista, it doesn’t change the facts. It is what it is!  Sure Palin is not your favorite conservative and you might think she is “damaged goods” but hey you don’t have to vote for her until 2012–you will have a fair opportunity to see her in action–it’s not like you’re buying a pig in a poke. And guarantee to them they will feel better about their decision to reluctantly support Palin once she has gone through the rigors of a campaign and after watching her on stage engaging her competitors in debates.

Believe me I know many people will offer great resistance to your supposition when you first propose it. But regardless, if you can make the point over and over again that the GOP presidential race is now a two-person showdown between Romney and Palin, I do believe you will hit paydirt more often than you will not especially if the person you are talking to loathes Romney or Romneycare and understands with Romney at the helm in 2012 it is most likely a 3rd party will arise or like in 2008 with McCain millions of conservatives will stay home rather than vote for the ticket.

      Techno:

What if the answer is: “I want Romney b/c he’s electable and not as damaged by the media.  I know he has faults, but I will reluctantly support him over Palin.”

However, these Romney supporters claim they will vote for Palin in the general.

It’s like if you visit someone to try to sell them life insurance and already have some. Sure they could always use more, but once they start to put a wall up, simply retreat and get out.

There are plenty of fish in the sea who don’t own any life insurance.

By the same token, there are plenty of people who can’t stand Romney or oppose Romney as the GOP nominee.

Find those people and spend your time with them and with them make your argument why he or she must vote for Palin.

ATTENTION Euthanasia advocates: There is NO basic human right to die because rights without duties are no rights at all, and what God has given, man can NEVER take away, which is a seminal truth recognized by Gov. Palin in her commentary at this link.

Sarah Palin Opposes Health Care Bill Over Abortion, Euthanasia Components
    http://www.lifenews.com/2009/08/07/nat-5336/

Palin said she worries the health care bill will be paid for on the backs of the elderly and disabled, who could be pushed into euthanasia and assisted suicide via rationing of medical treatment.

“And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course,” she said.”And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course,” she said.

Palin pulled no punches in going after President Barack Obama and his administration — perhaps one reason she stepped down as governor.Palin pulled no punches in going after President Barack Obama and his administration — perhaps one reason she stepped down as governor.

“The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s ‘death panel’ so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society’ whether they are worthy of health care,” Palin says. “Such a system is downright evil.”

Accordingly, a response is in order to the following letter that appeared in PRAVDA Central PA today.
    http://www.centredaily.com/2011/06/09/2765358/yourletters.html

Laws deny us a basic human right

People complain about the government having too much power. People complain about our country becoming socialist. But why are these same people OK with the fact that our government prohibits people in severe pain from the choice of death?

If there is one basic right that any person in the world should have, it is the right to die. When someone has leukemia or ALS or any other painful and debilitating disease, the government should allow them to not have to suffer anymore. How do they know what that person is feeling? How do they know the pain and suffering they go through every day? How do they know if their life is worth living anymore? They don’t.

I understand that euthanasia is a touchy subject. It goes hand and hand with suicide, and I am by no means advocating suicide; but I believe that every person has the right to live or die. It’s that simple.

When states make euthanasia illegal, they are robbing suffering citizens of this basic human right.

    Olivia Jones Boalsburg

    See the following in response.

The Obsession With Rights Talk Forgets That Rights Without Duties Are No Rights At All
    http://www.personal.psu.edu/glm7/m095.htm

Many questions arise pertaining to the application of physician-assisted suicide. In particular, “How do we strike a rational balance among all considerations and ensure approximate ‘equal justice under the law,’”? Typically, advocates admit to “not having answers to these questions” but go on to offer some interesting “suggestions”.

One such suggestion that I’ve observed deserves examination. “In the absence of a power of attorney the patient-doctor relationship should be the main focus on terminal decisions. If, however, medical personnel refuse to follow patients’ wishes … they should be subject to legal liability.”

What do you do when someone in a fit of despair is heard to say, “I don’t want to live any longer”, and horror of horrors, a family member, neighbor, or “friendly” doctor just happens to take this literally? Is this carte blanche for the plug to be pulled on this individual’s life when at some future date he finds himself incapacitated in a hospital? If so, the Hippocratic oath has become the “hypocritic” oath and no medical professional could ever be trusted which is the consequence of subjecting same to “legal liabilities” for keeping patients alive. Legal liabilities for keeping patients alive, is this what advocates call a “rational balance”? If something sounds wrong, more often than not, it is. The confusion is a primary example why there are no strictly legalistic answers to these questions.

According to a Dutch Commission report, 11,800 patients were euthanized in 1990 through active measures, most often by administering lethal drugs, and 5,941 of these were performed without the patient’s consent. Only 400 patients opted for assisted suicide. An additional 13,506 patients were denied “nonfutile medical treatment with intention to terminate life,” a practice the Dutch call “euthanasia by omission” because it denies lifesaving treatment. The great majority of these cases, 64%, involved persons who had given no prior consent to such a fate.

A Dutch physician, Richard Fenigsen, in the Journal of ISSUES AND LAW AND MEDICINE states, “Euthanasia is not just changing medicine; it is replacing medicine. This suppression of traditional medical thinking, medical working habits, and the medical way of reacting to events has an impact on both the emergency care and the long term care of patients,” he writes.

Fenigsen describes several case studies. In one teaching hospital, anesthetists stopped providing anesthesia for cardiac surgery involving Down’s syndrome patients. In other cases, hospitals and doctors refused to apply simple, lifesaving measures to patients whose lives they determined were “unlivable.”

In one case, a physician did not administer insulin to a 6-year old, mildly retarded boy who developed juvenile diabetes, thereby causing his death. In another, a doctor persuaded an elderly woman to stop taking medicine needed to treat an enlarged heart because she was living a “limited life” – she depended on several medications, needed help cleaning her house, and could walk only a few blocks at a time.

In all, 65% of Dutch doctors believe that physicians may propose active euthanasia to patients who do not ask for it themselves, according to Dutch surveys.

A study recently published in the British medical journal Lancet involved patients who expressed a desire to end their own lives — the sort of patients who would be most likely to seek a physician’s help in committing suicide. Doctors at the Dana-Farber cancer institute found that 80 percent of such individuals were suffering primarily from clinical depression, rather than from unendurable pain. With the help of modern pain-killing medication, most terminal cancer patients can be spared from extreme suffering, the researchers point out.

Since clinical depression can be treated successfully through the use of medication and counseling, the Lancet report suggests that four out of five potential candidates for physician-assisted suicide may change their minds with appropriate medical diagnosis and treatment.

More to the point, if 80 percent of the people who opt for suicide are clinically depressed, it follows that an overwhelming majority of such individuals are not able to make clear and logical decisions. Thus, prudent lawmakers should protect these vulnerable patients from the potential consequences of a decision they might make under the influence of an emotional disturbance.

The movement to make assisting suicides legal was made virtually inevitable by the Supreme Court’s creation of a right to abortion with abortion being nothing more than pre-natal euthanasia and euthanasia being post-natal abortion.

Since we have made it legal to destroy human lives for the convenience of others via abortion, what’s to stop us from terminating dear ole Mom and Dad when they become inconvenient? After all, isn’t inconvenience, situated on the extreme ends of the bell curve of life, defined by those currently in power! Minus a moral compass rooted in recognizing universal truths, the answer is nothing.

As Judge Robert Bork has pointed out in SLOUCHING TOWARDS GOMORRAH, “It is ironic that our supposed ‘freedom’ to choose death has made it far easier for others to choose our death as the autonomy is often theirs, not ours.”

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2010/07/26/usa-workplace-jobs-idUSN2622998620100726

North Dakota and Alaska have added the most jobs, while Nevada, California and Florida have lost the most, in the last five years, according to research released on Monday.

The study of U.S. employment trends found 40 states had fewer jobs in May 2010 than they did five years earlier, according to Portfolio.com, a business news site that published the research of private-sector employment conducted by American City Business Journals.

In first place, North Dakota added 21,300 jobs, and Alaska followed by adding 10,100 jobs from 2005 to 2010, it said.

No, and I don’t think she is going to fire him.  It really says a lot about a candidate who resorts to gutter tactics before they even become an official candidate.  Bachmann is just demonstrating that she is no different than any of the inside the beltway types.  It’s obvious that Dick Morris is working for her as well, which even says more about her character, and none of it is good.

Who cares if she fires Rollins?  The damage is done.  Not like I’m going to have a great opinion of and/or vote for Michelle Bachman just because she fires Rollins.  And frankly, keeping Rollins around to make more gaffes is even better.

Lastly, Bachman had no say in his hiring. It was the GOP establishment/Romney. Therefore she has no say in his firing.

When The Undefeated comes out … I plan on taking every RINO and Independent I know to see the movie with me.  Those who show interest of course, and want to open their minds a little.  I will not waste my money on hardened Leftists who think Trig had another mother.

I will pay for it, and later buy them beers to discuss it.  This will be my contribution to change the hearts and minds of those hardened by the media attacks.

Plus, who can say no to a free night out?

Now he doesn’t want the 2nd ammendment, gun rights, he wants state by state and he was for Wall Street bailout.

    Not good!

I am as unorthodox as anyone on C4P but I am a strong proponent in the verity of The Peter Principle.

I just don’t believe a person without any experience in government (or the military) can aspire to the highest job in the land, with voters thinking he is totally competent or conversant with the issues and how to handle the job.

In sporting terms, just because one is a great QB doesn’t mean that person will make a great owner of a football team.

        Great post, techno!

A great college QB does not mean they will be a great Pro QB.

Full disclosure – I was a contractor working at an IBM plant in late 80s. The initials, IBM stood for Itty Bitty Managers as they had so much middle management it was dragging the whole company down. IBM did suffer from the Peter Principle for years. Now we have a president that fits this principle to a “T.”

I agree; so why is no one questioning his foreign p olicy experience?

          Because he is Black.

Oh, I must be stupid as that makes perfect sense. (joke)

           He’s working on it:

Cain: I’m working real hard on understanding heads of state, on
other countries around the world, being able to pronounce their names
properly. Being able to have their proper title when I talk about them
in that context. Yes, that is an area that I have not focused on because
when I was doing my radio show, foreign affairs didn’t come up that
often in terms of what my listeners wanted.

They wanted me to talk about the economy, creating jobs; we
talked a lot about immigration. We talked a lot about how do we how do
we reform entitlement spending and Medicare. So I’m very conversant on
those because I have had to interact with my listeners for five years
when I was on the radio. So when it comes to other nations, friend or
foe, I have a lot of homework to do, but I’m in the process of doing
that homework to get up to speed.

So,  his version of “getting schooled”, as CK would say, is to learn how to pronounce their names, which then will make him a candidate with ‘gravitas” and definitely, no questions asked, qualified to be president.

In the meantime, Gov. Palin goes to Israel, India, Haiti, Germany, and soon England and Sudan, but she is not properly “schooled” and is not to be taken seriously.

            Sounds about right.

    From the article -

In April 2009, just a few months before Palin resigned her Governorship, she gave a speech, in which she seemed to be warming up to some GW solutions:

“Many believe that in order to mitigate these long term and systematic changes it will require a national and global effort to decrease the release of human produced greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. However, simply waiting for low carbon emitting renewable capacity to be large enough will mean that it will be too late to meet the mitigation goals for reducing CO2 that will be required under most credible climate change models, including the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) modeled scenarios”
    ————

The author didn’t interpret these statements correctly. Her point was that these attempts to curtail emissions are futile to “reducing global warming” even by the emission-curtailers own standards since they couldn’t even meet their own model requirements. Show me where she then goes on to say that we should enact cap and trade. It’s not there.

The committee she put together as Governor was to study climate change and to address any affects it would have on Alaska. Climate does change. Ask Greenland. The idea that man contributes to it she adopted because she was VP.

      Thanks, Kelsey!!

You can go even further. She says “many believe” not I believe. Her judgment on the issue is that it is impossible to meet the standards required by the models in the time frame needed to prevent the “disaster” predicted by the models.

So true! and we all know that McCain was wrong on so many things!  I still don’t see how
he got the nomination. I only voted for him because of Sarah – hoping that she would take
over the Presidency in a few months.
