On June 7 1966 A former actor named Ronald Reagan is elected governor of California Reagan’s tenure as the Golden State’s governor gave him credibility as a political leader, paving the way for his victory in the 1980 presidential election.

Not as a politician, but as an American, proud of his heritage, Mr. Reagan relates the events of this fateful period in our history with eloquence, integrity and dramatic impact. Speaking in the person of a colonist from Boston, Massachusetts, who is caught up in the turmoil of his time and has to leave home, loved ones and livelihood to endure the privations of war, Mr. Reagan makes the pages of history spring to life…

The creators of FREEDOM’S FINEST HOUR, Alec and Sam Thomas, have enhanced the excellent narration with a stirring musical background. The sounds of battle, the frivolity of the English at play in the then occupied capital of Philadelphia, the roll of the drums, the bitter wind whistling over the encampment at Valley Forge all serve to heighten the feeling that we are there as things are happening. It is a profoundly moving experience  to be a living participant in one’s own history…

With respect to the head to head between Republicans and Obama it should be noted that the Post poll included 31% Dems, 39% Independents and only 25% Republicans. If there are actually 30% Republicans who vote add 5% to Sarah and subtract 5% from Obama and it is 50-45.

The last 2 1/2 years have been like working to loosen a rust frozen nut from the exhaust manifold of a 40 year old well used pickup truck. The events of the last 10 days are the first barely perceptible signs of movement. Time now to really pour on the elbow grease. And a little more penetrating oil. We’re gonna rebuild this beast!

Amy Kremer, of Tea Party Express on FOX &
FRIENDS said that ALL OF THE Tea Party’s will support Romney if he
    gets the nomination.

This woman is delusional. The Tea Party is totally against crony capitalism and Romney is a crony capitalist to the nth degree.

It is important to draw a critical distinction between pro-business and pro-free market. Pro business is concerned with the health of large business and big financial houses, which is Romney. Being pro-free market means being concerned with the health of the capitalist system as a whole and its underlying principles of profit and loss, risk and reward, which is Sarah.

The Clinton administration started the bailouts of the Wall Street banks. Rubin was the biggest culprit. The banks, brokerage houses, and hedge funds have gotten used to taking large positions and when they don’t do their homework and guess wrong we the taxpayer bail them out. By doing so they make sure that the banks, hedge funds, and investment houses are not only protected but that they make a nice return on their investments. They can’t lose and we get stuck with the bill.

Wall Street is backing both Obama and Romney. In other words, they can’t lose and the charade will continue. The bubbles started during the Clinton administration because of government interference. If we don’t stop this “too big to fail” garbage we will continue to have bubbles which will eventually bring down the entire international financial system. The Wall Street freaks are addicts. The Tea Party realizes that we have to go “cold turkey” and stop the addiction.

Only Sarah will be a reformer and get us back to embracing free market principles.

It’s the “crony capitalism” stupid. It IS ruining the economy. There is NO difference between Dumb-Ø and Mittwit.

I don’t care if I am threatened with death. There is no way I will vote for this cretin Romney.

I saw this and thought to myself, its back to politics as usual.  The base holds its nose and votes for the next “electable” RINO, only to bring us loss or political disaster (as in the case of the Bush years).

I also thought the whole point of the Tea Party was differentiate itself from the GOP and to put the fear of you know what in the Bushies.

Plus, it was a horrible tactical move on this person’s part.  You just showed the RINOs your cards.  What incentive now do they have to play ball with us?  None whatsoever.  Maybe, I am missing something.

Edit: The question for me would be: is this person co-opted by Romney’s campaign?

The RINO’s weren’t going to “play ball” anyway until they lose and they too will fall into line behind Sarah as nothing matters more to them than winning.

You are more than welcome to vote for Romney but I refuse to support him and so will many more conservatives. We didn’t waste out time going to Tea Party events to elect RINO’s. The Tea Party was just as much a protest of RINO’s as Obama. That Supreme Court bogus argument does nothing for me. Mittwit will appoint the same kind of Øppressives who will destroy our constitution.

        • Anonymous

I agree. (At a very late stage prior to the general election, should it — heaven and all our efforts forfend — come down to such a “choice,” there will be time enough to consider the question again.)

At present, to say that we’d vote for MR under such a scenario would most likely embolden him and his boys to seize the nomination by any and all means, including the lowest. Why encourage them?

You may be right that Mitt may appoint very liberal attorneys for Supreme Court justices, but you could also be wrong.

But I think we would both agree that it is MORE LIKELY that Obama would appoint very liberal attorneys for Supreme Court justices.

If I can’t vote for Sarah in the general election, I sure as hell going to vote against Obama in a way that prevents him from getting a second term.

You can write in Sarah’s name in the general, but then don’t whine about Obama being re-elected or the decisions coming from “his” Supreme Court.

But what if she decides not to run?  Or what if she runs and loses in the primary?  Would you refuse to vote in the general election thereby ushering in another four years of destruction by Obama?  And suffer the results of a left-majority Supreme Court decisions for the next 20 to 30 years?  Not me.

Come on folks – get real. What would you expect or want her to say? The condition is IF HE GETS THE NOMINATION. If that happens, it will be Romney vs. Obama and I firmly believe that there is no contest, though grudgingly. Look at it this way – if Romney is it, don’t you think Sarah will support him and the point is if in the process, the Tea Party can dominate the lower ballot, Romney will be faced with a more conservative congress to keep him in line as well. Will the Tea Party vote for him in the primaries – I don’t think so.

jerseymark, I am sorry that I am so passionate about this but you see I have worked on Wall Street and in the financial markets all of my life. There are those of us that work on the street that are honest responsible Americans who have been TOTALLY fed up with the bad behavior of our cohorts since the Clinton administration.

Trust me, it is NO coincidence that Stephen Bannon who worked on “The Street” was motivated enough to put up $1 million dollars of his own money to set the record straight and stop the madness.

These bailouts of the “too big to fail” create a “moral hazard” in the fact that these banks and hedge funds have no incentive to monitor risk that they would ordinarily because they won’t go belly up. Romney will only condone the madness. He ran a hedge fund. These are his bosom buddies. Fannie and Freddie were hijacked by activists. The banks will continue to pay their protection money to them. Nothing will change and everything will continue unless we get a true reformer. Try giving up a $20 million dollar bonus, you can’t. You will lie, cheat, and steal to feed your addiction.

There will never be a better time to slay this beast than now with Saracuda.

Drudge headlines a new ABC/Washington Post poll which claims to show RomneyCare equalling or slightly ahead of Obama in a matchup.

This poll also claims  that “2/3 of voters” would not consider voting for Governor  Palin, while 60% do not consider her qualified to be president.

Any poll by these liberal media entities has to be considered to be rigged, and this one, unabashedly boosting RomneyCare, is very much in  that league.

What renders  this poll so palpably unbelievable, is that incredibly, it purports that, while Sarah Palin would lose to Obama by 17 percentage points, all the others, including Gingrich, Giuliani, and even Huntsman -  unknown to most voters  -   and  Bachmann – would fare considerably better than Governor Palin!

That Governor Palin still has much ground to cover – though far less than did Ronald Reagan even 6 months before the election in 1980 – that we all know.

But, unless we are all of us in the Palin camp a bunch of naive simpletons  living in a dream world, this is nothing more than part and parcel of the liberal media’s campaign to select for the Republican party that candidate – RomneyCare – that they would like their man, Obama, to face in November 2012.

Indeed, there can be no doubt that the timing of this poll, and the bad results for Palin that it claims to have discovered, was undeniably timed to counteract the widespread publicity, and the very positive public reception – and resulting popularity boost for Governor Palin – that the Nationwide Bus Tour has been generating.

In 2008, they maneuvered the GOP to select McCain – then trashed him as soon as he had been nominated, and launched the character assassination of Governor Sarah Palin that continues to this day.

Will the American voters, and especially Republican voters, permit the liberal media to select their candidate for them in 2012 as well?

    I would venture this prediction:

If Governor Sarah Palin is not the Republican candidate for president in 2012, enough conservatives -yours truly included – would simply not vote, and whoever else is selected will lose.

I for one would not feel any qualms about that, for the simple reason that any one of the likely alternatives would differ only slightly from Obama.

I know in my heart and in my mind, that only Governor Sarah Palin has it in her to save this nation from impending ruin.

Speaking for myself, for 2012, it’s Palin, or nobody else.

Check out Pollinsider’s take on this poll:

      Some key points:

Ever wonder what goes on inside people’s heads sometimes? In a poll question of the general public, when asked if they would ever consider voting for Sarah Palin, 64% say “They Would Definitely Not Vote” for Sarah Palin. I went to public schools so forgive my math, but that would then mean Palin could get no more than 36% of the vote. Well, the very next question: “Who would you vote for, Sarah Palin or Barack Obama” Sarah Palin gets…. 40%!

Not Paying Attention: Just 22% of voters are paying “close attention” to the White House race. This also falls into what I call the 80/20 rule of politics. This is also why I tend to discount most public opinion polling about Sarah Palin, as most people’s opinion of Palin is being formed at a time when they readily admit they are not paying attention to anything. And the same can be said for Mitt Romney. He has mostly been ignored and has not gotten “the media treatment” so why would people think he sucks?

Poll Sample: I cannot recalculate the poll numbers because they do not provide the party breakdown that PPP generously does. But, there is a noted Dem bias in the sample. Poll sample has 31% D, 25% R, and 39% I. With leaners it comes out 49% Lean Dem, 42% Lean Republican. In 2010 elections and according to Rasmussen Party surveys at worst the sample should be even, and usually about 35% D, 35% R, 30% I. I’d calculate that Obama’s numbers are far worse than what the following will suggest:

Romney 49%, Obama 46% – Like I said, I’d assume that Romney would be even higher if the polling sample was reworked to actually show the right % of D and R, but those numbers are not available. Romney is the only candidate that leads Obama in this poll. He also benefits from being the closest thing the GOP has to a Media Pet this cycle.

Obama 55%, Palin 40% – Like with Romney, this is probably much closer when you equalize the voting sample. Another thing to remember about polling is that the numbers are always less dramatic than they appear. A 15 point defecit does not mean you have to takeaway 15 points from your opponent to catch up. It means you have to take away 7 points. So, if you have 100 people, 55 say they will vote for Obama, 40 for Palin, she needs only take 7 Obama voters away to make it Obama 48%, Palin 47%. Given that only 35% of voters say they would probably vote for Obama, this leaves a pool of at least 20 voters to work with. Polls change quickly, and remember, 80% of thevoting  population is not even paying attention.

        Something else:

        The geographic selection.

Are the Republicans polled from moderate – mostly RINO – Northeastern states? – Or the more conservative Midwestern states?

That makes a big difference too, as it is not just a matter of having “Republicans” polled, it  also
        matters which Republicans.

There are clearly many ways to rig a poll to get the results that one desires.

One other thing:RomneyCare has definitely peaked – way, way too early!

He has only one way to go – which he will, when more is known about him – and that way is,…DOWN!

My concern plain and simple:  Should BO be reelected he will finish the transformation to a socialist nation if necessary by DECREE…

This is a fact and you better don’t doubt it…

2 Dem Lawmakers Move to Give More Abortion Rights to Service Women

Notice we talking about DEM lawmakers who have more than demonstrated that they have no problem ramming unjust laws against the founders intent in the Declaration of Independence fulfilled in The Constitution down the throats of Americans of faith and right reason who also have rights that are summarily trashed in the process.

Kind of hard to guarantee “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” when the first is absolutely necessary for the remaining two, let alone that we’re talking about unalienable (God-given) rights that the DEMS couldn’t care less about.

Memo to the DEMS:  Your rights stop when they conflict with those of the sane who care about a country fit to LIVE in for our children, grandchildren, and future generations of Americans fortunate enough to survive your diabolic abortuaries.

Where is a “right to baby killing,” let alone at taxpayer expense, in The Constitution?

Heck, even a HS student can see the folly in this argument as proven beyond a shadow of a doubt in the following link.

Romney will delay the destruction of the nation. Maybe only shortly. Maybe for a little while longer, a decade or two. But Palin can reverse the tide. We have the benefit of hindsight. We can see where the great Ronald Reagan failed as well as succeeded now. Romney won’t even understand what he’s looking for. RINOs are only a delay and the time is running out. We need to WIN, not pass the ball until the time runs off the clock.
