Chuck Heath Slams Joe McGinniss and Random House For Publishing What McGinniss Admitted Were Lies in His E-mail/Open Thread

Breitbart’s website has Chuck’s statement:

The McGinniss book is filled with one lie after another. The final straw for me was when I learned that he used me as a source for his lies about my sister and brother-in-law’s marriage. He included in his book comments falsely attributed to me by one of his unnamed sources. Neither McGinniss nor Crown/Random House reached out to me to verify, or even comment on, this alleged hearsay from an unnamed source. They just ran with it, and as a consequence, the tabloids picked it up and used it to fuel false rumors about my sister getting a divorce. All of this is a total lie, and I’m sick of seeing my sister, her family, and our extended family being trashed by smear-merchants like Joe McGinniss and his publisher.

Bristol Palin

Big cheers at the slightest suggestion that @sarahpalinusa MIGHT join the race.

Random House is foolishly trying to save face rather than admit to an error in judgment.

What else is going on today?

Let Chuck do it so Sarah can do other important things.

  • lorenzini

Very well said……on a side note….I was first to post…..Jasmine nearly got it….on a side side note Levi is peddling his book. I think Sarah was waiting for these rags to be released and letting the hoopla die down before announcing

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QD2LDVA2DQZ4P2M3BRDZLUOU4M Vicki

I think C4P cares a lot more about these books than Sarah Palin does.

      • militantfeather

Really? The books not only attack Sarah about everything – a mother, a wife, a person – they also very nastily attack all her family, including her children. Its disgusting.

You think mama grizzly’s reaction would be just to smile and say fine, we’ll go hibernate, or something? Given she has said family should be off-limits?

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QD2LDVA2DQZ4P2M3BRDZLUOU4M Vicki

no. I don’t think she has to smile about it. But she certainly can choose to ignore it. This stuff will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS happen. There is no point wasting good energy on it. She has way bigger fish to fry that this twit.
Would you rather she work on policy statements, speeches, op eds, or would you rather she respond to this twit?

          • militantfeather

You didn’t say she should ignore it … I agree with that.

You implied she doesn’t care about the books, ie, unaffected by them.

Saw this in a comment from a link above:

Dear Liberal Hack Journalists and Liberal Democrats:

        If you
think a story about a politician fornicating with anything up to and
including a dead farm animal is going to change our vote come November
6, 2012 – your delusional. This time it’s personal, its not business
anymore, we want a political liberal bloodbath. We want you liberals run
out of Washington on a high speed rail that the taxpayers paid for at
light speed, then we want to blow up the tracks so you’s can’t come back
        – ever. In fact, if we could reroute that train to the bridge to
nowhere and drop the bridge, we would.

        Thus, print your lies,
repeat your falsehoods, personally attack our pundits, it doesn’t matter
anymore – you’ve made this personal and we’re pissed, and you will
politically pay a dear price for your crimes against the citizens of
this country. We are confident that we can get this new crop of
representatives to serve our interest, the American citizens interests,
and not your pinko-commie interest. We know we’ve got work to do, but it
is you, and your asinine laws, regulation, and taxes, that are stopping
it from happening, and you hacks in the left wing media sticking us
with this will not matter in the least.

        I  _____pronounce
you guilty, and on November 6, 2012 I will be voting straight
Republican, sentence to be carried out in January 2013.

        Respectfully,

        • Laddie_Blah_Blah

Well put. They have made it personal, and will reap what they have sown.

  • 4rcane

Imho Palin should not respond to Mcginnis, but let others in her family to respond to it

    • http://twitter.com/Super_Sachiko Jasmine Clark

      that’s a good idea too.

    • blueniner

You know if she went on Judge Jeanines show she would ask her about the McGinnis book, she has always asked about social stuff like Kathy Griffin, which later got on all the web sites.

    • LesDupont

Does Bristol want to own a publishing company??

      • jeaneeinabottle

I hope someone goes after these people, when?  Gov Palin HAS TO BECOME PRESIDENT, SHE WILL ALWAYS BE PROTECTED, FOREVER by the secret service.  I can’t wait!

    • militantfeather

Absolutely, no response other than a general denial. Not even show she is bothered by it at all, just maybe point out the vile smears have also targeted her family, people would easily appreciate the vileness in that.

  • Sarah4Prez

God I hope someone in the Palin clan will sue McGinnis and own Random House!  I’d like to see McGinnis broken financially and living in a box under the 16th street overpass!  Reap what you sew!

    • nkthgreek

Why pollute a perfectly good overpass?

  • stlouisix

Obama has no authority to do this.  But, of course, since when did der Fuhrer Obama care one whit about the Constitutional bounds of his authority?

What is going unreported here is what Obama demands in return, i.e., complete federal control over the schools!

    See the following link.

Rubio: ‘No Child Left Behind’ waivers are illegal
    http://dailycaller.com/2011/09/15/rubio-education-department%E2%80%99s-conditional-%E2%80%98no-child-left-behind%E2%80%99-waivers-are-illegal-undermine-separation-of-powers/

Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio wrote to Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan on Tuesday, criticizing an Obama administration plan to grant No Child Left Behind waivers to states that adopt national standards backed by the administration.

“I am concerned,” Rubio’s letter says, “that the administration’s requirements for granting a waiver from NCLB would entail states having to adopt a federally-approved ‘college and career ready’ curriculum: either the national Common Core standards, or another federally-approved equivalent.” According to Rubio, the practice of granting conditional waivers is “detrimental to our country’s shared goal of educational success for every student.” And, he claims, it’s also against federal law.

“We acknowledge that NCLB allows the Secretary to grant waivers for existing provisions under the law,” Rubio wrote, “but nowhere does the law authorize waivers in exchange for the adoption of administration-preferred policies.”

Instead of the executive branch influencing state policy through waivers, Rubio insists, the Obama administration should respect the constitutional separation of powers and work with Congress: “This initiative is an overstep of authority that undermines exiting law, and violates the constitutional separation of powers. The responsibility for legislating lies with Congress.”

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in awhile in that it appears that what Rubio said was accurately reported.   And if that source isn’t good enough for you, there are a heck of lot more, Weaver! Kind of like the Associated Depressed recently fact checking Obama’s class warfare lies on what’s left of the Middle Class paying more taxes than the wealthy!

Also, it’s really hard for me not to hate the Left.  I mean, I literally hate them and I know that’s not what Sarah wants, but I can’t help it.  I want them to suffer big time!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QD2LDVA2DQZ4P2M3BRDZLUOU4M Vicki

I don’t think Gov Palin would be comfortable with people wanting to behave like "what Sarah wants."
      She’s a fellow human being.
That Bill Maher guy is the one who really gets me boiling. But I tell you, the best thing is just don’t click on that stuff. If it makes you that mad, just stay away from it.
It seems to me one of the problems with a site like this is it gets people ginned up about stuff that goes right past the public at large but drives people here nuts. I’ll get really busy with things and then log on and find people going off the reservation about something I hadn’t even heard about.
I think this book for one. There is SO much going on right now with the economy, the republican contest, Israel, the European markets, the only people that are tuning into that book are the people that already hated her.

      • militantfeather

The general public doesn’t care what we here at C4p or Bretbart do, either. But we have to ensure that a general narrative that is propogated has some blowback, and discourage others from doing it, that is, consequences. McGinniss is a perfect example of consequences biting you in the azz.

  • ADRoberts

Soneone needs to get Sarah’s attention.  She is starting to lose momentum.  It is time.

‘I don’t know how long Breitbart has been working on this e-mail business, but I suspect Gov. Palin was aware of it and that is one of the reasons she has been waiting.  I’m also thinking that Brannon stated one time he had a big surprise waiting.  The e-mails got one shoe (high heel) to drop and  she may be waiting to drop the other one.  Sometimes I wish her team wasn’t so tight lipped, but actually I’m really glad they are.

    • puma_for_life

She’s starting to lose momentum? It has only begun…

    • Eagles8

She’s right to wait it out until next week (hopefully she keeps true to her word and announces this calendar month).  Right now, conservative primary voters are busy figuring out what a dope Perry is, and to quote Napoleon, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."

    • rightConcept

      I wouldnt bet on that…!

  • luvoftheword

I hope if Christie gets in that we Palin supporters don’t take that as a cue to start with personal attacks about his weight and etc. Living in New Jersey i like what he’s done and doing. However Palin is my choice and i "LOVE" what she did in Alaska and nothing will change that. Just because Christie may enter we don’t need to go down the liberal road of attacking this man’s physical features. Just like any other candidate we take issue on the issues, character and experience.

Also some don’t like the tone he took during hurricane Irene. I really didn’t pay that much attention to it until i saw an article about it. Then i said ‘yeah he could have been a lot more tactiful in his instructions about vacating the beach.’ I say the more candidates that get in the better. It highlights Governor Palin’s record against their own. I also hope that Christie isn’t getting in to try to stop Palin. If he is he’ll fade just as the others are. And even if he’s getting in for any other reason Sarah’s light will outshine any and all comers. I know that Ann Couter is doing Michael Jackson spins and James Brown splits over Christie’s potential entrance.

I remember when Christie said that Sarah "needs more "unscripted" moments."

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/146383-pro-palin-host-goes-after-gov-christie

Maybe Governor Christie should have used a script when he admonished Shore residents to "Get The Hell Off of the Beach."

However a quote from Sarah on a C4P article says:

"He (Christie) has no choice but to cut budgets because he’s broke, his state is broke. What
courage really is is, in the face of having a surplus, when you have an opportunity to spend spend spend other people’s money, that you still choose to rein in government, to let the private sector soar. That’s real courage. And, by the way, that’s what i did here [in Alaska]."

He lacks the self control to be an effective president. I think that is reflected in his weight, a lack of self control. But if it were confined to his weight, I would consider his candidacy. However, he shows that he can’t control his mouth in regards to what he chooses to say as well as what he chooses to put in it.

      • puma_for_life

You do better than I do Jasmine. I try not to be repulsed by his weight. Or heart sickened by it. I’m not sure the exact emotion. I find it similar to someone who smokes so much they can’t speak without coughing up a lung or someone who drinks so much they can’t hold their hand still

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QD2LDVA2DQZ4P2M3BRDZLUOU4M Vicki

Please, no offense to those of you who struggle with weight issues. I just think as a culture we don’t recognize and appreciate that it destroys a person physically the same way other addictions do, but we tend to just brush it off. People that weigh as much as Christie have pretty bad odd of making it to retirement age.

    • http://www.solitudebooks.com/ Dan C

I never mention anything physical about him. He is a liberal on the issues, and we need a conservative reformer in the White House. Obviously, he does not fit the bill. Simple.

Just a thought–for the brand, spankin new Open Thread!–

Since Sarah’s said MANY times that she wants to check out the field before she makes her decision, and IF she has info that someone else (or elses) are getting in, or considering getting in (as she seems convinced), why wouldn’t she be "breaking her word" as some say about her not announcing in Sept (if she doesn’t) if she doesn’t wait till they’re in?? Think she only mentioned Sept as a hypothetical once. She’s mentioned checking out the field a hundred times!

She knows there’s no one out there, but this is how she’s positioned herself–brilliantly imo! Let them play Chicken with her! The Cuda doesn’t blink!

So far her waiting= (among other things)–MB and the Village People on the verge of being cooked, Perry dropping like a rock, Mitten even more damaged then his inherently damaged self, the debate changed to Crony Capitalism (which is her wheelhouse) and an apparent surge for her–all from the sidelines!

Downside? (and my heart does go out to organizers)–it can be hell on organizers–but short term hell! When she’s in they’ll be gathering supporters in by the boat load like Alaska salmon! Why is it assumed that the hypothetical "support" she’ll lose is gone for good?? They’ll be predisposed to switching back in a heartbeat!

I’ve always thought that in her case the last shall be first. Without her in these are just scrimages! She’s there at every event and every debate already–like oxygen! She’s just "There"! Not a bad position from this cheerleader’s perspective.

If your friend calls and says, "i’m thinking about building a deck on the back of my house, will you help me?" And you say Sure, absolutely. Well, I’ll call you next Saturday and let you know. But he doesn’t call next Saturday, either to say he’s building the deck come on over, or he’s not building the deck so go have fun doing some thing else.
      Would you be ticked off?
I, for one, would be ticked off. Either she says let’s build the deck or let’s not. Or at the very least calls to say I’m not sure I can build a deck but I’ll let you know for certain NEXT Saturday. I won’t put you off again. Any of those would be acceptable.
      Nothing is not acceptable.

      • juju341

LMAO….You compare keeping an appt. to building a deck to Sarah making the biggest decsion of her life that affects her and her family for  9 years and costs milliions of dollars and the help of millions of people.    I know you were joking that is why I did the laugh at the beginning of my post…no one could believe you are serious.  But, on the off chance you are….sorry!!!

      • MarkRNY

Not if my friend said "I have to straighten out some building code stuff that came up and the lumber isn’t quite ready. Can we make it next weekend? This deck will raise all our property values btw". I’d say "No problem friend. Take your time".

      • fb274

It does not take quite as much money to build a deck as it does to fund a national campaign.  Funds have been stated a couple of times by Gov. Palin…………she said one time she does not like to ask for money for herself (campaigning) and another had indicated how expensive the campaigns can be.  The longer she waits, the more the other competitors have disbursed.  Huntsman and Romney have personal funds they could use if so desired, the rest not so much.  Ed Rollins most recent comment was that at the rate Bachmann is spending as opposed to what is received will only carry her through the Iowa Caucus.   The others have not been able to garner large buckets of donations.  Perry is raising some larger sums, but his mouth moving before the brain thinks will hamper him.  A shorter campaign period for the Gov., the less funds will have to be used.  Sarah knows, IMO, the deadlines in each and every state and requirements for same.  Trust her!

      • excopconservative

You can’t expect an answer to a question to take into account all of the variables in an election, such as late entries and changing leaders.  As I remember, she said that she would have to begin the process in August and September.  I’m sure she has begun the process.

    • militantfeather

The "tease" meme circulating immediately goes into "breaking promises" or "indecisive".

The first is bad enough, the second two will get major traction especially amongst bloggers and activists looking to support someone. They will move on.

It is not fatal, but the advantages of waiting will start to outweigh the disadvantages. And at some point, you have to call bluffs. Christie is a bluff.

      • MarkRNY

But they’re memes as you say. She can’t change her plans to accomodate memes.

No one can seriously think she’s "indecisive" and the "tease" meme (which IS sexist btw) disappears as soon as she announces.

As to "breaking her word", she never gave her word. Her exact words have been posted here. She used the end of Sept as a hypothetical.

Waiting to see the field WAS an oft repeated promise though.

        • militantfeather

Why wait two or so more weeks though?

For Christie? It is a mistake. Read the WSJ aricle, and you’ll see its all boilerplate political punditory talk. Two weeks? Yeah, that is what pundits say when they want to circulate a false rumor and want that rumor to last two weeks without being accountable for the fact it is BS. A potential candidate doesn’t say come back in "two weeks".

The article was a complete joke.

It is too bad she never made it there the (UK) she probably would have won them over, if they like Kate Middleton, they would love Sarah, plus Sarah has English/Irish roots.

      Yep  looks like a  Setup………….

      Way to go C.

I would not be surprised if the producers of the show told him about the scene they were filming. The producers of these shows do not care about the subjects (i.e. Bristol  Palin). They know ratings come from drama of raw human emotions. That’s why you hear the voice "What was that Bristol?" as Bristol is walking out. That is the producer just trying to get her to react emotionally. But she didn’t! She handled it with amazing grace and poise.

    • Conmo5

Now that right there is very interesting! This guy is disgusting …. poor little levi. Exactly how low did he go to make "friends" in cali??????

      • celestiallady

I would say pretty low. It doesn’t surprise me there is a connection.

      • wpmwindsong

Levi spelled in Pig Latin is evil.

  • gilamonster8

http://touch.lockerz.com/s/31753803 anyone want to bet he found out Bristol would be there and went for that reason? Anyone want to bet he needed beer balls before he got the courage?

    • c4pfan

Perhaps.  I just know that I love that Bristol isn’t afraid.  She wasn’t lying when she said she wasn’t.  Then again, going on DWTS and dealing with what I read in her book is something on to itself!  The woman is one tough cookie!

      • LuvGuvSP

And what I noticed the most during that disgusting encounter is how she continued to refer to him as "sir".
