From time to time there are some exceptional conservative writers here who have a degree of understanding that is well beyond that of the usual political thinkers. For instance they don’t appear to be “excessively” religious but at the same time they know that God is in control. And most likely they realize that Sarah Palin’s allegiance to God is for real. That, I think, is the reason for their seemingly inside track on what is going on. NaLa comes to mind.
I keep thinking of the Governor’s comment that it is going to be an “unconventional” election process this time around. Also, I don’t believe that her entry into the Republican mud fight that we are seeing today could do her candidacy any good at all and certainly she was aware of that when she made her announcement that she would not be a candidate for the nomination. Consider the two different scenes for choosing a Republican candidate for the Presidency.
The current candidates are simply inviting the liberal media to help them chop one another up and in doing that they are allowing the same media to distract all of us from the Democratic mess which should be at the forefront of everything political during the next year. Imagine, we are exactly a year away from the election and Sarah would be what, the ninth Republican candidate in yet another of their endless debates.
No, it is better that she comes forward in some other fashion, after it is clear that there is a missing element, something really lacking, in all the rest. And that is exactly what is happening. Not one of the current eight has a lock on anything. Their support is so fractured and shifting that it is almost meaningless. No matter when she gets in or even if she waits for a draft, by the time of the convention the people there will realize that today’s crop of candidates is all campaigned out and the delegates will remember that there is no campaigner like Sarah Palin.
She is a better speaker than anyone since Ronald Reagan really was and Barack Obama was supposed to be and isn’t. She loves people and she can be trusted to say what she thinks and do what she says. Talk about cleaning up the mess. If they sincerely want to win, and by then they desperately will be in that state of mind, then they will look to Sarah Palin.
Take heart conservative people and keep it up. You are helping to move things in the right direction.
