Roger Ailes Runs Away From His Outrageous Comments About Governor Palin

“When I hired most of the Republican contributors, none of them had any immediate prospects of becoming President —I wasn’t referring to any of their long-term prospects, including Governor Palin. I hired all of them because they made for good television at the time. Sarah Palin is young and nobody can predict the future.”

No concession, just a statement of fact.

  • HerneTheHunter

I understand why the Guv’ is still at FauxNews. She signed a contract, She has a responsibility to fulfill it. Personally I want her to see it to the finish. But once that is done, I want her out of there pronto.

    • ProudAmerican247

That’s probably why she’s on the FAUXnetwork so much lately…

Fulfill her contract early, and get the H out of there!!!

I can’t wait for her to be DONE with them so I don’t have to tune in when she’s scheduled to appear.

      Hurry Sarah!!

      PALIN 2012

what is the term of the contract?

    • Quiet_Righty

Maybe you’d like her to join Current TV?

    • Patriot41

I am puzzled as to why you would want Sarah to quit on the highest rated news channel in television?  As I understand it, she majored in journalism while in college and does very well with her major.  By being on FOX news, she is getting top exposure in the nation, while getting paid for it.  Thus far, she has handled her exposure very well and confirmed what we know about her in that she is an intelligent individual and not the dunce the media tried to portray her as.

    • Guest

Get real! The woman is being paid to do a job. She’s got a family to help support, and Fox’s money is better than MSNBCs, etc. why should she give up a lucrative gig out of some misguided idea of newsy purity? She’s a big girl and she punched back against Roger Ailes. The result, he climbed down from his previous statements. Get real, people.

    • colint

28 Likes. I don’t agree. As long as an interview is live and editing is not allowed without her approval she would gain or WIN on any SERIOUS show on any network. She could go on a show even with Perky and win as long as serious political issues are discussed. She to have diverse audiences not just audieces of supporters.

Maybe he saw the handwriting on the wall

    (Daniel 5:25-28.)

    • Pete Petretich

5:5 Suddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The king watched the hand as it wrote…

5:25 “This is the inscription that was written:

26 “Here is what these words mean:
Mene[a]: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
27 Tekel[b]: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
28 Peres[c]: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”

      Well done, sir. Well done.

  • friskyness

I want her to buy her own station!

    • Sarah4Prez

Oprah may have a network for sale soon. :)

  • Mary Beth House

Sorry, Rog but we can actually go back to your quote and see for ourselves what you said:

“Sarah Palin had no chance to be President.”

Not…"I don’t see Sarah Palin becoming President in the immediate future" but "Sarah Palin had no chance."

Please stop taking us for fools.  We’re not as stupid or gullible as you seem to believe we are.

  • ResearchIsImperative

    I say:  BS, R. Ailes!!!!!!

  • virginiagentleman1

My, My, My! Old Roger the dodger steps in it again! Walking his statement back? Not hardly! He’s just engaging in damage control. Rumor has it that the Fox switchboard lit up like a Christmas tree after his earlier remarks and most of the calls were negative towards Ailes.
It seems that corporate bigwigs absolutely hate it when the switchboard is backed up with negative calls!  Well DANG!!  Who knew!  LMAO!!
Was big daddy Murdock looking over Ailes shoulder?

I didn’t know that there were so many C4Pers!  I know it was all of YOU!!

    • palintologist

It’s not Rupert in charge any longer.  Word was he put Junior Murdouck in charge of FOX.  Junior is a confirmed "greenie" and is said to have made Dad see the light.  He also admits to taking the station mega left.

  • WEL2

    “CAN’T MISS:
Sarah Palin & Eric Bolling Special ‘Paying At the Pump’ TONIGHT at 10pm ET!”
at Fox Nation.  Please support Governor
Palin there.  At least “Fire It Up.”

    • alien4palin

I will be watching and cheering them on. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.

  • Ann Virginia

Aisles is a GOPes Romney’s Tool. He sounded like a an old man who’s about to lost his mojo.  One reason I haven’t watch Fox News for quite awhile.

  • Betsey_Ross

"nobody can predict the future."  Really?  This doesn’t sound like much of a concession to me.  Roger forgot to keep his mouth shut.  Did he mean for this little tidbit to be leaked?  Apparently Newt is not happy with him either.  The Fox/Newt dust-up made Yahoo’s Headline News this morning.  The obvious meme is that Fox is in the tank for Romney.  Maybe old Roger is feeling the heat for that, too.  What ever it is, it cheers me up to have him squirm.  Oh, a little advice, Roger.  STFU!

    • friskyness

He should take the same advice for himself that he gave Sarah during the Gifford tragedy in Arizona, when he told her not to fight back, just shut up.  Will Roger, just shut up!

    • patnatasha

he should be seen and not heard.

      • Leroy Whitby

I used to default to FOX. Not anymore.

  • MarkRNY

Can’t see Roger doing much running of any kind–and Sarah can outrun the hell out of him anyway!

Btw, if I recall, Murdoch flew to Alaska to meet with Sarah before she joined–Murdoch "hired" her!

Hey Roger–you can’t run and you can’t hide!

     What a joke…….up yours Ailes!!…

  • Pete Petretich

That’s the way the GOPe operates. They throw their cash around and then think they can bully conservative citizens into following their corrupt priorities.

    • HotMike

That’s because we never had anyone (except Reagan) fighting for us – until now.

      • Live

Reagan was a liberal big spender. He was a big talker just like obama. They both never did the "Walk the Walk."

        • HotMike

          • Live

so you agree he was a big spender….

        • Yankee4Palin

Oh really, Reagan was my Governor and President.
I worked in his Gov. campaign.

I see from your earlier posts you are a Ron Paul lemming, Mr. Pork
Ron Paul who is supported by the Radical Left Code Pinkos to Neo Nazi Storm Front.

          • Live

8 years in office and not 1 single year of a balance budget.

            • Mary Beth House

And who manages the purse strings?  Oh yes.  That would be Congress.  And who was in control of both houses?

Oh yes…that would be the Liberal Democrats.

              • Live

he signed the budgets for 8 straight years. stop with the excuses. he had no spine to stand up to the overspending.

                • Leroy Whitby

Note all the negatives for Reagan. Reduced spending. This is pre-election, non-lame-duck, stuff. The economy boomed due to his spending restraint. I’m growing irritated and suspicious of the abuse of Reagan by people who allegedly are for Paul, or for Romney.

          Is you real name LEVI?

          • LuvGuvSP

  • HotMike

Ailes you are pathetic to attack someone of her stature. Absolutely pathetic. You’ve lost me as a viewer for your attack on Sarah. YOU should be defending her!!

  • HotMike

I just have to say one thing. I have never seen anyone as powerful as this woman.  I’m lost for words

    • ProudAmerican247

"I have never seen anyone as powerful as this woman."

She has earned it…the old-fashioned way.

The concession is even more pathetic -she’s young or in other words she’s an idiot now but she can still learn!

Whatever the reason this is highly unprofessional and demeaning to Sarah!

I suspect that Sarah isn’t falling in line with the elite friends…

  • Jean_A

Gov. Palin has come along way.

She has learned not to smack back when somebody says something you don’t like.  In the pass she has smacked back at people like Rove, Politico, and of course a light smack at Mrs. Bush.

Gov. Palin gave the right answer to Mr. Ailes and in turn Mr. Ailes conceded.

I respect this woman like know other.

    • Billy Vmax

I respect this woman like no other person, save my 2 sons.

  • wiskeyjack

Ailes has never been anything but a hack for the Bushes.  They go way back and all have always seen Sarah Palin as a threat.  This is not the first time Ailes has sniped at her.  Ailes hired the Governor because she was ratings gold.  But never seemed to be bothered with the double standard by which she was treated by so many losers at Fox.  Look for him and other rinos to cheap shot her in future if they feel threatened by her, especially if she chooses to run for the POTUS.

    • HotMike

Never once did Ailes come out publicly when the media was trashing while she was a Fox contributor. Never once!!

    • John_Frank

Ailes has never been anything but a hack for the Bushes.

Nope. Ailes started out working with Richard Nixon. He handled the media for Ronald Reagan’s re-election.

After Reagan, he worked with George H.W. Bush on his election in 1988.

Here is an interview that he gave in 1988 when he was at the top of his game as a political media consultant:

He left the business and joined FOX News around 1990.
