Yes, she actually said that. Via RCP, here’s the House Democrat leader comparing Obamacare to the Declaration of Independence, and explaining how it expands freedom because it frees people from that annoying necessity of working for a living.
In a speech to Campus Progress, where she received an award, Pelosi said the Affordable Care Act is “about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
“Central to all is the Affordable Care Act, which we think is about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi also said the health care legislation would allow young people to “be creative” and pursue dreams of painting, writing and dancing without having to be employed.
I still can’t believe this loon was once two heartbeats away from the presidency.
