Danny de Gracia wrote an excellent article for Washington Times Communities stating that “the left only hates her because she’s right.” Indeed:
Forget the fact that America is running trillions of dollars in the red, that our consulates are under attack or that insurgents infiltrated and destroyed an entire squadronof Marine jets along with its most senior pilot in Afghanistan.
Never mind that inflation is causing prices to skyrocket and gutting small businesses or that the average American has almost no savings. What is the most important thing on the mind of the Left right now?
Sarah Palin’s status updates on Facebook.
Early Wednesday morning, the former Alaska governor called out President Barack Obama on her fan page over the developing new revelations of the attack on our Benghazi embassy.[...]
Palin’s rebuke was directed at the fact that most Americans saw a serious lapse of judgment and apparent deception by the Obama Administration over what happened to our people in Libya. America has yet to hear an explanation for why, on the anniversary of the most awful terrorist attack on U.S. soil, our consulates were attacked in an obvious asymmetric warfare strike.
But rather than coming to grips with the inconvenient truth of Palin’s words and putting media pressure on the Obama Administration to answer, the leftist media instead chose to focus on a single phrase in Palin’s status update: that “President Obama’s shuck and jive shtick with these Benghazi lies must end.”
Leftists went out of their way to research the etymology and historical usage of “shuck and jive” but yet they never did due diligence to find out just what happened in Libya (or Afghanistan, for that matter, where insurgents destroyed or severely damaged eight Marine AV-8B Harriers).
Here’s a thought: instead of looking up trivial insults and their history, why doesn’t the left go and research some War College white papers, harvest some data from past military campaigns, or read up on ancient military foundational texts to see why Obama’s worldview and defense model are repeating the pattern of empire implosion?
I’ll tell you why: because the left has a pattern of selectively avoiding intellectual discourse and choosing to resort to the use of ridicule and hyperbole to respond to criticism.
Whatever the issue may be, whatever the policy matter is, no amount of philosophy, calculus equations or finite pedantry and attention to scholastic detail could ever bring the left to introspect and think critically. Instead, they will comb anything a person who opposes them says or writes and look for trivial statements with which they can use to incite angry mobs to drown out reason with idiotic memes.
If I could post the entire article, I would. It’s very good. Please go here to read the entire piece.
