Exceeding expectations among critics on both sides of the aisle, Mitt Romney appears to have trounced President Obama in the first of four debates for this general election season.
Minutes after the debate ended, many mainstream outlets released their own non-scientific polls. Discussion forums and numbers unanimously grant this as an impressive win for the former Massachusetts Governor.
YAHOO!’s poll with 95,000+ participants so far has Romney winning the debate among 58% of respondents.
Insider Advantage conducted a poll right after the debate, 52% believed Romney won to 45% who said the president won.
Over at CNBC out of almost 38,000 voters, Romney 62%, Obama 29%
Huffington Post‘s in-house polling gave it to Romney as well.
Perhaps the most impressive for Romney, CNN has him winning with an astounding 67% to Obama getting 25% of the vote.
Sixty-seven percent of registered voters who watched the debate said GOP nominee Mitt Romney won the debate, while 25% said President Barack Obama came out as the winner, according to a CNN/ORC International Poll released late Wednesday night. For the survey, 430 adult Americans were interviewed by telephone after the end of the debate. The poll does not and cannot reflect the views of all Americans. It only represents the views of people who watched the event.
The poll has a sampling error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
There are dozens more polls out there which say the same thing. In fact, I am having a hard time finding one which says the opposite. This was a clear win for Governor Romney. He gave clear answers and refreshingly held the president accountable for the massive debt we have accumulated as a result of his horrible policies.
This also serves as a much needed boost for Romney’s momentum and to the hope of Americans ready to fire Barack Obama and to put our country back on the right track.
