Gov. Palin on Obama 2007 racist speech: dishonest, divisive; Updated: Mark Levin’s comments added

Via Facebook:

Many of you have seen the 2007 speech in which then-Senator Obama suggested that because of racism the federal government didn’t waive the Stafford Act to assist New Orleans after Katrina. What you may not know is that 10 days before Senator Obama gave this speech, the federal government did in fact waive the Stafford Act for New Orleans. And to add insult to injury, Barack Obama was one of 14 senators who actually voted against the bill that included the provision to give supplemental emergency assistance to New Orleans. In other words, he was being dishonest and divisive, which is behavior we’ve sadly seen far too often from him in the last four years.

Here is the video of Barack Obama’s speech to a predominately Black audience in Hampton Roads, Virginia in 2007. Watch it. I’ve never heard him affect an accent like this before. Since he grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia, I wonder where it comes from.

Update by Doug: (h/t Mary Beth House) Today on his radio show, Mark Levin mentioned Obama’s race-baiting demagoguery to which Governor Palin referred above. Click the image below to listen.  It’s vintage.

This is the real bombshell we were looking for and not the speech itself.  Leave it up to the Cuda to find it.

    • shivabeach

Its already being laughed off by the media. This speech was covered way back when it occurred. It seems no one thought it was bad then. There is no bombshell here

      • http://www.motivationtruth.com Adrienne Ross

But the media didn’t show the most damning parts back in 2007, so most people had no idea. Also, most people didn’t know that Obama voted against releasing the funds, then basically called the government racist for not releasing the funds (which they released 10 days prior)! Unreal!

        • shivabeach

The media showed the entire speech. There is nothing damming in it.

          • http://www.motivationtruth.com Adrienne Ross

So you saw the whole speech. That’s interesting. You’re one of the few. And the fact that he voted against releasing funds that he complains "racist" people didn’t want to release is a trip. If you’ve seen the speech in which he condemns people for something he’s guilty of, you know it’s deplorable and hypocritical. If you don’t think so, then…well, you might be missing the point.

            • wodiej

I think this person is missing more than a point!

No, they didn’t. The speech the media showed prior to the Daily Caller’s report was heavily sanitized.

Did you miss the following from Palin’s statement…"

"What you may not know is that 10 days before Senator Obama gave this speech, the federal government did in fact waive the Stafford Act for New Orleans. And to add insult to injury, Barack Obama was one of 14 senators who actually voted against the bill that included the provision to give supplemental emergency assistance to New Orleans. In other words, he was being dishonest and divisive, which is behavior we’ve sadly seen far too often from him in the last four years.""

No, the media did not cover the whole speech.  They covered Obama’s prepared remarks.  He ad-libbed most of the speech.  The damning parts were those he said off-the-cuff.  The media ignored those parts and just reported on the prepared remarks that were sent to them before the actual speech.

Are you one of the roaming Obama apologists who wanders around conservative sites trying to defend that dolt Obama? Seems this is first time here for you and I find it interesting that you defend a race baiting speech by your leader.

            • shivabeach

I very seldom peruse conservative sites. I came here because of the tweet that I read and posted below this thread. Although I have seen racism here in the past on Palins behalf, I find that the remarks on this speech are hilarious. Fox News covered the 2007 speech and thought it was of no consequence. Now its a huge thing. You guys need to stop believing lies.

#1) You’re deceived, and 2) You’ve not seen any "racism" here that was condoned, and NONE "on Palin’s behalf." This brings me back to my first point: you’re deceived.

                • shivabeach

Over the past couple years I have seen racism here. BTW, CNN showed that speech in 2007 in its entirety. Brit Hume covered it for Fox.

                  Not me that’s deceived.

                  • Jean_A

Have you seen it in the WH?

        • shivabeach

Back into the cage please….  the turds you are dropping around here stink.

        • shivabeach

Wrong. CNN showed the entire speech live and Brit Hume covered it for Fox.  SO you and your 24 friends are in error.

The media is the laugh.  You can’t come here and call black white or day, night and get anyone to believe you.

via John Nolte…Breitbart..Top Ten Reasons 2007 Obama Video Matters in 2012…

"Even before the Daily Caller released the video last night of President Obama’s 2007 speech before a majority black audience in Virginia, our corrupt media was already declaring it "old news."  Time’s Mark Halperin had a full-blown meltdown & BuzzFeed Politics’ Ben Smith declared the story over and dead hours before anyone read it.

Once the Daily Caller story did hit, and it became clear that Tucker Carlson had found never-before-seen video of Obama in a way voters have never seen him, none of that mattered.  The desperate narrative to protect Obama had already been set and, as though the rest of us were insane, the corrupt media doubled down in its efforts to tell those of use who had never seen this video that we had…."

        • colliemum

On that same post you linked to, Nolte points out (point #7) that the "Christian" Obama did not know the words to The Lord’s Prayer.

Let me repeat: Obama says he’s a Christian – but does not know the words to The Lord’s Prayer.
He went to Jeremiah Wright’s ‘Church’ for many years – but does not know the words to the Lord’s Prayer.

Please do tell all your friends who might still think Obama is a nice man …

  • RebinTexas

I shared Gov Palin’s FB post on my wall……..and, learned a couple key things I did not know before. Plus, it’s always nice – cause I know Sarah is always "spot on" with details and specifics. Go get em Sarah……….we’re with you….every step of the way….hopefully to the WH one day.
