    Good morning all.

Excellent article about Gov.Palin’s record of accomplishments.

‘Who Is the Real Sarah Palin?’

    From the article:

    Executive Authority and Success

Palin was the first female and youngest governor to be elected in Alaska, which is tied for the second most powerful governorship in the United States, according to Thad Beyle, a political scientist at the University of North Carolina.

    Budgeting and Spending

Palin cut state spending between 2007 and 2010 by 9.5% while also reducing federal earmark requests by more than 80% during her tenure. She used her line-item veto to cut more than a quarter billion in superfluous spending in both 2007 and 2008. In 2009, she instituted a temporary hiring freeze, while at the same time reducing spending by more than 33% between FY2009 and FY2010.

In stark contrast to President Obama and other governors whose fiscal records are dogged by credit downgrades, Palin left Alaska with an improved credit rating during and following her tenure as governor. Standard & Poor’s raised Alaska’s credit rating from AA to AA+ in April 2008. Then in 2010, both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s upgraded Alaska to AAA for the first time in the state’s history due to policies enacted by Palin that made the state’s finances more than solvent.

Under Palin’s leadership, Alaska was 2nd in job growth, and 3rd in the change in its unemployment rate, compared to the other states. Alaska also saw a record number of oil jobs in both 2008 and 2009, while natural resource and logging jobs increased 13.7% during Palin’s tenure.

In fact, Palin’s record on jobs compared to the country as a whole was stronger than the President’s and other prominent governors’ during their respective tenures

    Business Growth

Alaska was an opportunity society under Palin. Alaska moved up from the 4th most business tax-friendly state to the 3rd most business tax-friendly state during her tenure.

Palin was a firm believer in tax cuts. In addition to lowering unemployment insurance tax rates, she cut business license fees in half, suspended the state motor fuel tax, and signed legislation, allowing Alaska-based businesses the same opportunities as out-of-state businesses. All of this was consistent with her record as Mayor of Wasilla, where she eliminated small business inventory taxes and cut property tax mill levies every year she was in office.

Energy issues are Palin’s forte, and her record proves it. In 2007, Governor Palin signed ACES—Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share—a net tax on oil profits that was passed in a bipartisan and transparent manner. ACES replaced the corruption-tainted oil tax plan of the previous administration, which was passed in secret and ultimately lead to the federal indictment of several Alaskan state officials and oil company personnel. Furthermore, ACES provided oil companies with incentives to develop. The progressivity of the tax meant producers were protected when oil prices were low, but the interest of the resource owners—the people of Alaska—were appropriately protected as well to achieve a fair return for their resource.

Most importantly, ACES led to jobs, increased development, and a huge surplus for Alaska.

Perhaps Palin’s biggest energy achievement was spearheading the creation of the Alaska natural gas pipeline. After five decades of unsuccessful attempts by Alaskan administrations to bring a gas pipeline project into existence, Palin and her team introduced the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) in March 2007. AGIA passed the Legislature by a vote of 57-1 in May of that year.

Unlike the behind-closed-doors cronyism of past administrations, Palin’s AGIA legislation was conducted out in the open and made use of a genuine free-market competitive bidding process. Palin’s AGIA placed not only Alaska, but also the nation, further on the path toward energy independence.

Palin played hardball with the big oil companies in her state. According to the Alaska state constitution, Alaskans are the resource owners in their state; and it was Palin’s duty as their CEO to get the best deal for Alaskans while at the same time partnering with these oil companies for the mutual benefit of all.

    Ethics Reform and Transparency

Ethics reform was the hallmark of Palin’s governorship. She was swept into office on a reform message in a state with a serious corruption problem. Alaska at the time was undergoing a federal investigation that culminated in the indictment of various corrupt lawmakers. Palin had made a name for herself as an ethics crusader when she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservative Commission and blew the whistle on fellow commissioner and state GOP head Randy Ruedrich for doing party business on state time. This resulted in Ruedrich receiving a $12,000 fine—the largest civil fine for ethics in the state’s history. Alaskans respected the fact that Palin was not afraid of taking on the establishment of her own party.

As governor, Palin fought for and signed sweeping bipartisan ethics legislation, which restricted lobbyists, improved disclosure laws, and improved executive and legislative branch ethics laws. In the face of corruption, she continued to take on her own party when it was necessary. She also increased transparency by releasing her oil tax bill to her constituents 17 days prior to the special legislative session, opening up natural gas pipeline deals to all potential parties, putting the state checkbook online, and not allowing lobbyists in her office.

Palin forward funded education to allow districts greater flexibility, supported increased vocational training and early education funding, opened up opportunity to Alaskan students to participate in regional medical schools, and increased overall funding for special needs education by 175% (before she herself became the mother of son with special needs). Believing that the best reform was close to home, Palin wisely also chose to monitor rather than participate in national standards for education.

    Health Care

Palin introduced health care transparency legislation that established an Alaska health care information office to give consumers factual information on quality and cost to help them make better-informed health care decisions. Recognizing that health care must be market-and business-driven, rather than restricted by government, Palin proposed repeal of Certificate of Need—a layer of bureaucracy that prevents medical facility development. She established the Alaska Health Strategies Planning Council, reduced Medicaid assessments by 83%, and expanded Alaska’s SeniorCare benefits program for low-income seniors.

Rush Limbaugh: GOP Consultants Get Rich ‘No Matter Who Wins Or Loses

    From the article:

"Rush Limbaugh last week blistered Republican establishment consultants like Mike Murphy and Steve Schmidt for getting "rich no matter who wins or loses" and enhancing their profiles with the mainstream media and the permanent political class by publicly denigrating conservatives.

Schmidt mismanaged the McCain 2008 presidential campaign by suspending McCain’s campaign during the financial crisis and then tried to rewrite history afterward in order to falsely blame everyone — especially Sarah Palin — for McCain’s loss, except himself."

Whom Do You Believe? HBO or Gallup?

      From the article:

"Gallup polls from the last presidential race prove that once Palin joined the ticket on Aug. 29, 2008, McCain’s ratings steadily climbed to a point where the Republican ticket even outshined Democratic Sen. Barack Obama.

In the two weeks before Palin joined the McCain ticket, the Arizona senator drifted in the low 40 percentile range, mostly around 41, 42 and 43 percent, while Obama held as much as an 8 point lead at about 49 and 50 percent. Four days after Palin joined the ticket, however, McCain’s numbers climbed to 45 percent and Obama’s sank to 47 percent, narrowing the gap significantly from eight points to two.

Between Sept. 4-6, McCain and Palin actually overshot the Obama ticket by 3 percent with the Republicans in the lead at 48 percent and the Democrats at only 45. McCain consistently held that lead until Sept. 15, and then the candidates balanced out with Obama enjoying a mere three-point lead, and no lead at all from Sept. 22-24, when the numbers were tied at 46 percent.

She’s the only reason they had a fighting chance up until the time McCain suspended his presidential campaign in late September.

      So what happened?

On Sept. 24, however, McCain shocked the country by saying that he was suspending his presidential campaign to help President George W. Bush and Congress solve the financial crisis. Although the former war hero turned senator did it for the good of the country, it was perceived as a brash, erratic act, and that’s exactly how Obama portrayed it.

Some were intrigued as to how McCain’s decision would play out in the polls, but once he suspended his campaign in late September he never recaptured the lead he enjoyed with the breaking news of recruiting Palin. It was downhill from there.

Schmidt Memos Prove ‘Game Change’ Author was Targeted to Save His “Reputation”

        From the article:

"So, now it has been proven that even before the 2008 election was over, Schmidt’s team of “CYA” artists were hard at work trying to save his reputation. It’s also known that they targeted Mark Halperin, the author of the book ‘Game Change,’ (which the HBO smear-u-drama is based) to do this.

By throwing Governor Palin to the wolves, making up vicious tall tales to people who wish they were true (Halperin), Schmidt and his team obviously thought that he could escape responsibility for the bad decisions that he made while running McCain’s campaign."

‘More ‘Game Change’ Fallout: ‘Staffers talk just to save their asses’

          From the article:

"Well, now we know who one of those bomb-throwing cowards is, Steve Schmidt, who HBO portrays as the calm, cool, reasonable hero of the film.

In real life, however, it’s no secret that he was the "super-genius" behind ("Schmidt pushed for going all in") the moment polls prove really lost the 2008 election; when Senator McCain foolishly decided to suspend his campaign and run back to DC to save the economy. "

‘Exclusive: Klenman on Sarah Palin and the Republican Establishment’

    From the article:

"After reading about Sarah Palin’s much better election night, as compared to the Republican Establishment™ in general, and Karl Rove in particular [her 75% success to Rove’s 1%] and the Palin inspired grass roots organization, American Grizzlies United’s equally impressive 66% endorsement success, Norman offered up some interesting thoughts:

This article advertently or inadvertently exposes the essential instinctive wisdom of Sarah Palin. Had Romney won, her advice to the party and to independent conservative voters and supporters would have been continuous, welcome, but low key. Sarah Palin speaking as a wise friend, a good pol with important ideas that would naturally be ignored by the Republicans in Power and by Congress.

But she stayed out of the fray this year for good reasons, her own, most kept to herself. But she watched, waited, and was a non-disruptive supporter on the side.

Now that the Republican house of cards has collapsed, leaving one monster vacancy of leadership in the great yawking maw in the middle of American politics, the field is open to her on her own terms… IF she wishes to re-enter the fray.

She did what most pols don’t do. Pols to get elected to use the old shibboleth of “playing to the middle“. That is, abandoning their obviously debatable but essential original programs and ideas, the positions that must be sold to the nation.

Sarah Palin never abandoned her views. She said Here they are, take ‘em or leave em. The Republicans including many who ought to have known better, backed away, and often were rude (as was the otherwise admirable Noonan) in doing so. As to the Republican establishment, they had no beliefs, and no real social program (their economic program was fine).

So now we shall see if Sarah Palin on her own chooses to return front and center for 2016 which is now wide open. No incumbent in the Dems. Mrs Clinton far too old and old fashioned. Not a real conservative with a program and some damn charisma anywhere in sight.

Enter Sarah Palin. Free now to tour the nation, gather supporters and funds, and to sell a new direction for her vast constituencies and a new program to break the restraining bounds of the old two party system. A program for the re-invigoration of America. A program to reframe and reform Congress.

They will be interesting times ahead for American voters.

Norman nails it at the end. The message of reform is a winner. As Stacy Drake points out here, voters in every single demographic, and in both political parties, as well as independents, not only have no faith in government, they see it as corrupt and in need of serious reform. They particularly want an end to crony capitalism, something Sarah Palin has been railing against for years, the Obama regime is up to their eye balls in, and the Romney campaign never really talked about. Cronyism is so prevalent in politics, neither party wants to talk about it, for obvious reasons.

If she chooses to run, Sarah Palin has a winning message, one she’s been perfecting since her earliest days as a member of the Wasilla city council, when she tangled with Nick Carney over an ordinance that would have given his waste management company a city wide monopoly.

Sarah Palin’s real world record of constantly and consistently fighting corruption, even within her own party, is one that will win people over, especially after four more years of Obama’s massive corruption, and the GOP essentially doing nothing about it.

People will want a serious change, and Sarah Palin represents that change."

I am back from vacation and a wonderful Thanksgiving with my in-laws. I played some of the best golf in my life shooting an 88 in 25-30 MPH winds in Brigantine, NJ the first day and I had four pars in a row for the first time in my life on the second day, all at 58 years young. I am back at work as well but them all can’t be peaches and cream.

If you can recall the last C.S. Lewis Reading, it was about our contribution to the Cosmic Shape through our prayers and actions, all of which went into the “mix” in fashioning reality as we know it. His last two sentences read,” My free act contributes to the cosmic shape. That contribution is made in eternity or ‘before all worlds'; but my consciousness of contributing reaches me at a particular point in the time-series.”

This next reading is also from “Miracles” and continues along the same tack:

“We must not picture destiny as a film unrolling for the most part on its own, but in which our prayers are sometimes allowed to insert additional items. On the contrary; what the film displays to us as it unrolls already contains the results of our prayers and of all our other acts. There is no
question WHETHER and event has happened because of your prayer. When the event you prayed for occurs your prayer has always contributed to it. When the opposite event occurs your prayer has never been ignored; it has been considered and refused, for your ultimate good and the good of the whole universe. (For example, because it is better for you and for everyone else in the long run that other people, including wicked ones, should exercise free will than that you should be protected from cruelty or treachery by turning the human race into automata.) But this is, and must remain, a matter of faith. You will, I think, only deceive yourself by trying to find special evidence for it in some cases more than in others.”

I appreciate the fact that this whole subject is very difficult as we see the interplay of Time and
Eternity from only one side and only have hints of what the whole picture looks like. Being conditioned to a cause and effect approach to reality where the cause necessarily has to be prior to the effect, it is very strange indeed to consider that from an eternal perspective, a cause could actually occur after the effect.

I think that the most important aspect of this reading is the reference to the refusal of what we pray for because the act of refusal by our Father establishes the fact that He listened to the prayer, considered it in the overall mix of our lives and those who would be impacted by the event if granted and concluded that it is best that our prayer be refused. This is a lot different than if we didn’t get what we prayed for because God did not hear our prayer. Now, I will state right here that God does not hear the prayers and pleas of everyone for there has to be a line of communication – namely the Holy Spirit. If a person is not a member of God’s Household, a Son or Daughter, he remains in rebellion against God, whether he knows it or not and only through his surrender to God in the acceptance of the Lordship of Jesus can his status be changed from rebel to Son as the Holy Spirit takes up residence within him thereby establishing his line of communication
with God. This is not to say that God does not act with regard to such a person’s life such as when He knows that a person will hear the Gospel at some point and respond, He will influence that person’s life to bring about that moment of surrender.

Scripture tells us at Romans 8:26-27 that “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of
God.” We also see in 1 John 5:14-15, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask,we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

As you can see, the true point is in praying in accordance with His will so then we KNOW He hears us and we KNOW He will grant what it is we ask for. Clearly, when we pray for anything that is contrary to His will, He will not grant the request, so the main point of prayer is on the receiving end of the communication, namely, listening to God, seeking to know what His will is in any given circumstance so that once we KNOW what His will is, we can then pray with faith joining with Him in bringing about the desired result. By and large, and I am no different, we spend
much more time talking to God than we do sitting still and listening to Him.

Now, one might say “what does it matter then since God’s will will be done anyway with or without my involvement in prayer”. This raises an interesting question to which I offer two responses. First, in view of God’s grant of free will to mankind, He is not able to override a person’s will as He is
not interested in robots. As such, He strives to obtain the agreement of men and women in the accomplishment of His will as a form of partnership or in Biblical terms, this is what Covenant is about. This issue is dealt with at length early on in The Jesus Trap ( Second, He is working on each of us as His Son or Daughter to conform us into the image of Jesus and as such, it is very important to Him that we learn from Him how He thinks, what He wants, who He is – In other words, He wants us to get to know Him intimately which means having us involved in what He is doing in our lives and in the world and this happens through prayer.

    • BHappy

Hi Everyone, I have been reading but not commenting much. As everyone else, I was so shocked by the election results, esp. locally. My candidate lost, which was a shame because he really cared about the district and the people. His constituent services were great.
I am replying to you JM because so many of us prayed and fasted about this election and yet felt that it was all for nothing. As believers we know that is not true, but it is hard to not wonder how to improve our prayer effort when such an important prayer which effects so many lives seems to be denied.
Right now, I am fighting Hate and trying to seek love. I am shopping locally for Christmas, keeping my charitable giving local and seeking peace and forgiveness for my bitterness. I choose peace. Everyday it is a battle to forgive and to love.
Love does not mean accepting bad behavior however. It does mean leading by example and staying the course of righteousness in our own lives, seeking holiness always, to the best of our ability.

While the Lord wants us to know Him and understand Him, sometimes He seems to make it more difficult. It is hard for us with our limited vision to know why it would be His will for Obama and the Left to remain in power in this country, but I do expect that with the passage of time, it will become more clear. I have speculated on what Obama’s reelection could mean from the perspective of God’s plan, being a preparation for Sarah’s ascendance  in 2016 and the demise of Progressivism on the one hand to simply the fact that there is little time left as the world races out of control and His plan for the end kicks into gear. For me, both are positive as the first gives us Sarah in four years and the second gives us Jesus.

The Buffalo Bills at 4-7 have been virtually eliminated from making the NFL playoffs. That makes it 12 years in a row.

The Bills remind so much of the GOP establishment and what I referred to yesterday as the futility exhibited in the GOP for be much too willing to settle for entrenched mediocrity and poor and unimaginative planners and strategists.

Here is how the futility has been entrenched:

    1) Refusal to accept the premise:

    2) Along with #1 a fanaticism towards uninspiring, tired, old leadership who refuse to change or to acknowledge that the world may have passed them by or that they are unwilling to embrace new ideas or new approaches.

    3) Totally clued out about evaluating talent and how to recruit and develop talent or even the importance of amassing the best talent.

    4) Like baseball managers playing the odds or percentages instead of "going with the hot hand" or with the player with the most upside potential. Or making a decision based on common sense.

    5) A hatred towards iconoclasm or going rogue. These folks would rather lose according to pursuing a status quo formula than going off the beaten path and giving yourself a better chance to win. Elitist presumptuousness is a disease which has no cure except for storming the barricades.

    6) Acceptance or resignation or tolerance of chronic losing by the rank and file and that nothing can change one’s fate.

    7) Losing becomes so entrenched that the folks in charge will never consider change because they fear change could bring better results and an accompanying LOSS OF FACE because of criticism of why didn’t you consider this alternative sooner?

This is why I believe Tim Tebow will never start with the NY Jets. Rex Ryan would rather lose his remaining games by staying with Mark Sanchez than admit Tebow could have saved the season.

The GOP would rather stay with mediocre performers like McCain and Romney than admit their formula for political success is full of holes.

    8) Hubris which does not permit losing teams from considering following or duplicating the blueprint of successful organizations. Our way is still the best way. On what basis?

    9) Lack of a Peter Finch moment in Network: "I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore."

It will be better next year. And next year becomes 12 years as is the case of the Buffalo Bills.

    10) Inferiority complex based on COLONIAL MENTALITY which makes one believe that the powers to be know what they are doing and ignorance of the Peter Principle.

Once you accept the Peter Principle you will never look at life the same way again.

  • RefudiateGOPe

    Good morning all.

I have written in the past that I think one of Governor Palin’s biggest attributes is having the quality of prescience.  Whether she’s discussing ObamaCare (death panels), Quantitative Easing (food
inflation), Egypt (ousting of Mubarek without knowing his replacement), the GOPe (ineptitude), political consultants (in it for the money), Energy Development (Drill, baby, drill), Obama’s Marxist ways (free stuff or free money), or a multitude of other issues, her ability to understand the future consequences of governmental actions, (and her willingness to talk about it) is, without a doubt, what makes her a unique politician.

For a dolt, she sure has an uncanny ability to analyze cause and effect of government policies and actions and then condense her opinion into an easy-to-understand explanation.  Whether she’s talking about domestic policies or foreign affairs, her words hold true.  Her Palin Doctrine, which she shared in her speech at the Colorado Christian University, is one of the most concise and comprehensive foreign affairs presentations made by anyone, including all those smart people who graduated from Harvard, Princeton, or Yale.

I think Sarah knows that the American people have been duped by the left, the GOPe, and the media, and I expect that when she comes out of her political hibernation, she certainly will be loaded for bear.  I have no idea what she’ll do or how she’ll do it, but I’m sure she’ll be getting a lot of attention while she’s doing it.  When it comes to the GOPe and the media, I think Sarah can borrow the words of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, when she tells them "their chickens have come home to roost".  These clowns in the GOPe and the media are going to see the true meaning of "Hell has no fury like a woman scorned", and it won’t be from just Sarah Palin, it will be from millions of other mothers who will be standing up and saying "I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore".

I stand with Sarah Palin, more today than yesterday, more tomorrow than today.

Up for a vote on Thursday is a Bill that would give Obama SWEEPING POWERS TO SEIZE PRIVATE LANDS in the name of "enviroment."  Pretty much any land with any water on it is going to be considered a wetland.

    Does anyone know about this?

    • $26225604

It has been lurking for some time. Really scarey stuff. Wont effect
most people since most people dont have water on their property so most
Americans wont give a damn. Im getting really sick of Americans who
arent paying attention and dont give a damn.

         Me too.

Egypt’s political foes dig in their heels

The big question is "What are REAL Americans going to do in the face of the diabolic evil that has our country by the jugular that is willfully seizing absolute power on a daily basis as a result of being enabled by an impotent indifferent GOPE leadership that couldn’t care less, an evil that is being exported to the world by a morally bankrupt leadership masquerading as American?"

The answer had better be, "We will resist this evil to its face for the sake of a country fit to live in for our children and grandchildren, a country deserving of God’s blessing, not His condemnation per the flouting of His Natural Law understandable from reason, exclusive of any divine revelation connotation, for the sake of the common good, per the founding documents which recognized that, without men of virtue as leaders with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, The Republic will not survive."

GOP Lawmakers Break Tax Pledge To Avert Looming Fiscal Crisis

I wouldn’t give a "tinker’s damn" for the sorry likes of Graham, McCain and their pathetic GOPE ilk, who have more than proved, by their political duplicity, that they can’t be trusted any farther than you can throw them!

    • hrandym

Throw them?  Now there’s an idea.  It doesn’t have to be to far, just out of sight.

  • Terry Malpass

Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, who said last week he’ll no longer abide by the pledge.
"I care more about my country than I do about a 20-year-old pledge," he said in a local interview.

Reckon he feels the say way about his 46 year old pledge to his wife?

Anyhow, Republicans are feeling safe to show their true colors, which is yellow.

    • SusanWo4p

Saxby Chambliss is a GOP puppet who is more concerned about pleasing his buddies in DC.

Right after November of 2008, Sarah came down to Georgia to campaign for him at the last minute in a "run-off" vote.  She helped to push him to a win.

How did he repay her?  He distanced himself from her once he got back to DC and called her Death Panel comments crazy.

He is not to be trusted.

      • carmtom13

To bad he never said she was right about death panels. Obamacare just has another name for it.

      • $26225604

He definitely used her. But we all know she is much wiser now.

    • hrandym

The GOPe shows itself.  Same old story: play the game.

Sen. Levin: Key to Avoiding Fiscal Cliff Is Whether GOP Will Abandon ‘Ideologically Rigid Position’ on Taxes

NO, the way to avoid the fiscal cliff is to stop Communists masquerading as Americans like Levin from spending money that we don’t have which is driving America into the fiscal ruin that the Obamunists, and their enablers, regardless of their political stripe, are you listening Boehner, intend for it!

THE key to avoiding the "fiscal cliff" is the exorcism of the Radical Left from positions of power!

    • 1776er

It’s interesting how the Republican Establishment has caved so quickly on taxes.  Boehner was telegraphing that move well in advance of the election.

I love this reference to "closing loopholes and deductions".  Who is the target here?  It’s not the  1%ers.  It’s not the 47%ers who don’t pay taxes.  It’s you and me Mr. and Mrs. Middle America.

Don’t tax you.  Don’t tax me.  Tax those Middle Americans behind the tree!

The Marxists and the RINOs have found common ground.  Screw Middle America and complete its destruction at no cost to themselves.

Don’t worry.  Your Tax Rates are safe.  Your taxes, however, are going up.  Romney suggested capping total deductions at $17,000.   You think the 1%ers worry about their itemized expenses?  $17,000, $50,000 or more?  You think the 47%ers worry about itemized expenses?  Who worries about itemized expenses?  You do.  I do.

Obama has said that there will be no fiscal cliff deal without inflicting tax rate increase revenge on the evil white oppressive class of entrepreneurs exploiting the masses in the racist U.S.A.  Punishment well earned.  So, he must deliver on that campaign pledge.  He will.  Makes no freakin’ economic sense at all.  But it is a pure matter of revenge.  So it will be.

There will be no spending cuts.  There will be talk of spending cuts.  Lots of talk.  But the Marxists in power have no intention of cutting spending.  The RINOs, since both the Bushes days, view spending cuts as talking points only during primary campaigns to quell the conservative hoi poloi cluttering up their political coalition.

The RINO Establishment no longer has the will to resist.

      • c4pfan

Thank you!  Finally someone telling the truth!  The GOP’s plans are the raise taxes, period!

        • 1776er

Leona Hemsley had your prototypical RINO attitude toward Middle America and taxes:

"Only the little people pay taxes."

If you don’t know who the patsy in the game is, you are the patsy.

Middle America is being drained by taxes already.  There’s the direct kind brought to you on Form 1040 and various other State and local taxing entities.

Then there’s indirect kind that kills you slowly over time like the sappy husband being slowly poisoned over time with arsenic in his morning coffee by his smiling, doting, and  loving wife.  These would include currency debasement by your friendly smiling central bankers.  It would also include the tax you pay to your friendly smiling foreign oil producers.  Then there’s always the  friendly smiling Chinese trinket hawkers and game boy salesmen.

All in all, the nation that was triggered to Revolution by a ha’ penny tax on tea is the most taxed nation on Earth.

We were once a Freedom loving people.  Now we love other things in America.  We love consumption.  We love our indulgences.  We love security.  We love taxing the guy down the street to pay for it all.

yep trying to dump mortgage tax deduction and deductions for charitable giving

  • $26225604

in terms of sarah running in 2016, i always assumed she would make a grand reentrance to large rallies and have mega donors all lined up etc.. but last night it occurred to me that she doesnt need to do that. all she needs to do is submit the paperwork to run , and hit the road. start working it. there is no other way to see how it will play out.

is that how she wants to spend the next 3 years of her life? i dont know. piper will be a full blown teenager, and trig probably doesnt travel well. I’m having a hard time seeing how she could pull that off. right now she sets her own schedule and can pretty much do what she pleases

    • wodiej

good observation.  I trust her faith in God to take her down the path He wants her to go.  I leave it in God’s hands.

    • GeraldGoff

sarah has a well adjusted extended family.  trig and piper would be just fine while she ran for office.

How come nobody ever posts the same type of comments about males who run for office?

      • $26225604

Because Moms are different than Dads. They just are. I didnt say she couldnt do it, I question whether she wants to do it. And then I said I dont know. I know that traveling with a special needs kid is tough. And I know being away from your 4 year old for weeks at a time is also tough.

        • carmtom13

Perhaps that is why she and Todd bought that house in AZ so if she decides to run she would not be that far away from her little one. AZ is a lot closer than Wasilla.
Has anyone herd if she has signed on with Fox again? Pretty sure the Governors contract is up in January.

          • $26225604

That was the thought in 2011

        • GeraldGoff

my wife was deployed when our son was 2 months old.  she did n’t see him again until he was 8 months old.  She missed everything…first solid food…first attempts to walk.

If sarah still has political asperations, her extended family can more than take care of her (and Todd’s ) children while she is traveling/campaigning.

[on reflection, i think some may have questioned santorum running for office while having a sick child at home…so maybe it isn’t just the females who get asked the family questions]

          • barracuda43

Tell your wife we thank her for her service to America!

          • $26225604

True, women going into the service take that chance. Your 2 month old will not remember any of that.  A teenager is a very different thing.  My husband has deployed twice, and the kids don’t remember it. they were years old not months old.  Adults make conscience choices, kids don’t. Of course someone will "take care" of her kids. That is really not my point at all.

    • smbren

My take is that Piper didn’t like the trial bus tour all that well. It was the impression I got anyway from videos.I hope she does run, but I spent 3 years convinced she would, so I will wait for her move whatever that is.

      • $26225604

I want her to run, and that is why I play devil’s advocate sometimes. I remind myself all the reasons why she might not so I dont get disappointed.  I actually think Piper is a bigger concern than Trig. The VP thing was 75 days of intense travel. A presidential run is years of "having a job" away from home.

        • smbren

           I certainly hope she does.

  • Christopher H Fromme

Graham: Obama’s worst enemy and best friend on Sunday’s thread several peep’s mentioned the RINO Senator from SC that in one breath trashs Obama on Libya and then talks bi-partisan immigration reform.

White House Warns Tax Hike Threat Could Hurt Retailers

Many small businesses falling into Obama’s $250K pseudo-class warfare construct of the rich, small business which is the engine of the economy that Obama couldn’t care less about, are staring at their extinction with the untold loss of jobs adding to the millions that Obama has already INTENTIONALLY caused in favor of his all-encompassing dependent government dole whereby his serfs can be better controlled, which is the goal of all good communists!

Wake up, America! The Obamunists caused this problem with their only solution being to "Do what they say or else," as they continue in their willful destruction of a free America from within with no help on the horizon from a sorry group of Obama GOPE enablers in Congress who couldn’t care less!

For a tyrannical anti-American government to warn of the threat of tax hikes, which they can’t cause soon enough by their draconian unconstitutional dictates and legislation crying out for prosecution to the full extent of the law, is the ultimate in hypocrisy!

    • c4pfan

He’d blame Republicans for it anyway.

      • smbren

Yep, and get away with it.

        • smbren

He will blame them if the mortgage interest goes away too. Too bad they can’t take the time to present the facts to the people.
