This happened yesterday, but it’s post-worthy nevertheless. It seems Marxist Obama supporter Harry Belafonte really has no tolerance for that messy democracy stuff, and wishes Obama could simply jail his political opposition as they do in Cuba or North Korea, presumably model forms of government for the has-been singer. Naturally the MSNBC host interviewing Belafonte, the race-baiting Al "not so" Sharpton, doesn’t disagree, via Joe Newby:
On Wednesday, singer Harry Belafonte offered some friendly advice for Barack Obama while speaking with MSNBC’s Al Sharpton. In his view, the president should rule like a third world dictator and throw the GOP in jail for opposing him.
“That there should be this lingering infestation of really corrupt people who sit trying to dismantle the wishes of the people, the mandate that has been given to Barack Obama, and I don’t know what more they want. The only thing left for Barack Obama to do is to work like a third world dictator and just put all these guys in jail,” he said.
Even worse than Belafonte’s statement is Sharpton’s reaction. At the end of the video, right after Belafonte’s advice, the MSNBC host can be heard laughing. Apparently, Sharpton thinks the suggestion to imprison Republicans is a good one.
Can you imagine the fallout if a George W. Bush supporter had suggested on Fox News that that the president jail Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi when they opposed his troop surge in 2007? One thing to note, though: If we keep traveling down Obama’s road to bankruptcy, we’ll eventually become a third world banana republic and the Harry Belafonte’s of the world may well get their wish.
