    Good morning all.

Excellent article about Gov.Palin’s record of accomplishments.

‘Who Is the Real Sarah Palin?’

    From the article:

    Executive Authority and Success

Palin was the first female and youngest governor to be elected in Alaska, which is tied for the second most powerful governorship in the United States, according to Thad Beyle, a political scientist at the University of North Carolina.

    Budgeting and Spending

Palin cut state spending between 2007 and 2010 by 9.5% while also reducing federal earmark requests by more than 80% during her tenure. She used her line-item veto to cut more than a quarter billion in superfluous spending in both 2007 and 2008. In 2009, she instituted a temporary hiring freeze, while at the same time reducing spending by more than 33% between FY2009 and FY2010.

In stark contrast to President Obama and other governors whose fiscal records are dogged by credit downgrades, Palin left Alaska with an improved credit rating during and following her tenure as governor.  Standard & Poor’s raised Alaska’s credit rating from AA to AA+ in April 2008. Then in 2010, both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s upgraded Alaska to AAA for the first time in the state’s history due to policies enacted by Palin that made the state’s finances more than solvent.

Under Palin’s leadership, Alaska was 2nd in job growth, and 3rd in the change in its unemployment rate, compared to the other states. Alaska also saw a record number of oil jobs in both 2008 and 2009, while natural resource and logging jobs increased 13.7% during Palin’s tenure.

In fact, Palin’s record on jobs compared to the country as a whole was stronger than the President’s and other prominent governors’ during their respective tenures

    Business Growth

Alaska was an opportunity society under Palin. Alaska moved up from the 4th most business tax-friendly state to the 3rd most business tax-friendly state during her tenure.

Palin was a firm believer in tax cuts. In addition to lowering unemployment insurance tax rates, she cut business license fees in half, suspended the state motor fuel tax, and signed legislation, allowing Alaska-based businesses the same opportunities as out-of-state businesses. All of this was consistent with her record as Mayor of Wasilla, where she eliminated small business inventory taxes and cut property tax mill levies every year she was in office.

Energy issues are Palin’s forte, and her record proves it. In 2007, Governor Palin signed ACES—Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share—a net tax on oil profits that was passed in a bipartisan and transparent manner. ACES replaced the corruption-tainted oil tax plan of the previous administration, which was passed in secret and ultimately lead to the federal indictment of several Alaskan state officials and oil company personnel. Furthermore, ACES provided oil companies with incentives to develop. The progressivity of the tax meant producers were protected when oil prices were low, but the interest of the resource owners—the people of Alaska—were appropriately protected as well to achieve a fair return for their resource.

Most importantly, ACES led to jobs, increased development, and a huge surplus for Alaska.

Perhaps Palin’s biggest energy achievement was spearheading the creation of the Alaska natural gas pipeline. After five decades of unsuccessful attempts by Alaskan administrations to bring a gas pipeline project into existence, Palin and her team introduced the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) in March 2007. AGIA passed the Legislature by a vote of 57-1 in May of that year.

Unlike the behind-closed-doors cronyism of past administrations, Palin’s AGIA legislation was conducted out in the open and made use of a genuine free-market competitive bidding process. Palin’s AGIA placed not only Alaska, but also the nation, further on the path toward energy independence.

Palin played hardball with the big oil companies in her state. According to the Alaska state constitution, Alaskans are the resource owners in their state; and it was Palin’s duty as their CEO to get the best deal for Alaskans while at the same time partnering with these oil companies for the mutual benefit of all.

    Ethics Reform and Transparency

Ethics reform was the hallmark of Palin’s governorship. She was swept into office on a reform message in a state with a serious corruption problem. Alaska at the time was undergoing a federal investigation that culminated in the indictment of various corrupt lawmakers. Palin had made a name for herself as an ethics crusader when she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservative Commission and blew the whistle on fellow commissioner and state GOP head Randy Ruedrich for doing party business on state time. This resulted in Ruedrich receiving a $12,000 fine—the largest civil fine for ethics in the state’s history. Alaskans respected the fact that Palin was not afraid of taking on the establishment of her own party.

As governor, Palin fought for and signed sweeping bipartisan ethics legislation, which restricted lobbyists, improved disclosure laws, and improved executive and legislative branch ethics laws. In the face of corruption, she continued to take on her own party when it was necessary. She also increased transparency by releasing her oil tax bill to her constituents 17 days prior to the special legislative session, opening up natural gas pipeline deals to all potential parties, putting the state checkbook online, and not allowing lobbyists in her office.

Palin forward funded education to allow districts greater flexibility, supported increased vocational training and early education funding, opened up opportunity to Alaskan students to participate in regional medical schools, and increased overall funding for special needs education by 175% (before she herself became the mother of son with special needs). Believing that the best reform was close to home, Palin wisely also chose to monitor rather than participate in national standards for education.

    Health Care

Palin introduced health care transparency legislation that established an Alaska health care information office to give consumers factual information on quality and cost to help them make better-informed health care decisions. Recognizing that health care must be market-and business-driven, rather than restricted by government, Palin proposed repeal of Certificate of Need—a layer of bureaucracy that prevents medical facility development. She established the Alaska Health Strategies Planning Council, reduced Medicaid assessments by 83%, and expanded Alaska’s SeniorCare benefits program for low-income seniors.

How the Palin emails backfired on the media.

‘Sarah Palin email witch hunt backfires – squeaky clean good governor!’

    From the article:

"The release of Sarah Palin’s emails backfires, as not only does she come off as squeaky clean, she looks like a very hard working governor by the looks of these communications. According to NPR, nothing of any concern was found among the thousands of Palin emails released."

‘American Way: Sarah Palin email frenzy backfires on her media antagonists’

    Form the article:

"The trove of more than 13,000 emails detailing almost every aspect of Sarah Palin’s governorship of Alaska, released late on Friday, paints a picture of her as an idealistic, conscientious, humorous and humane woman slightly bemused by the world of politics.

One can only assume that the Left-leaning editors who dispatched teams of reporters to remote Juneau, the Alaskan capital, to pore over the emails in the hope of digging up a scandal are now viewing the result as a rather poor return on their considerable investment.

If anything, Mrs Palin seems likely to emerge from the scrutiny of the 24,000 pages, contained in six boxes and weighing 275 pounds, with her reputation considerably enhanced. As a blogger at Powerline noted, the whole saga might come to be viewed as “an embarrassment for legacy media”.

‘Operation Backfire: E-Mails Prove Sarah Palin Was A Great Governor’

    From the article:

"Governor Palin conducted the business of her state in a transparent, bi-partisan, and responsible manner. She worked long, hard hours and treated everyone with respect. America is finding out that Palin is a smart, effective, fiscally responsible leader whose goal has always been to serve the people she represents.

She knows how to prioritize, delegate, and choose the most qualified and competent people to serve with her. America is learning that even in the face of death threats from crazed liberals, Gov. Palin just kept working and putting Alaska and Alaskans first."

‘The Sarah Palin email mania backfires on the media’

    From the article:

"As 13,000 emails of the former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, were released on Friday, the Liberal main-stream media scurried down to Juneau, Alaska to collect 24,000 pages of what they thought could be a damning story.

Dozens of major news publications released the 24,000 pages online to find something to smear the possible 2012 Republican contender, but their search came out dry.

Instead, what they found was a hard-at-work governor leading the great state of Alaska.

In detail, the emails display her down-to-earth tenure as governor and the policies she put in place while serving the 49th state."

CNN finding that Palin was hard-working governor

    The real Sarah Palin  (March,2012)

Emails reveal her to be an effective hands-on leader

    From the article:

The Sarah Palin who emerges from the email dump isn’t the partisan snowbilly of media caricature. She’s a tough-minded reformer who took on Big Oil and corrupt members of her own party and beat them.

Film shows Palin’s someone to admire

    From the article:

"And it’s exactly what most Americans expected 24,000 pages of personal and business emails to reveal about former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Obsessive news hounds scrounged through pages and pages, looking for damning information that could wipe the outspoken conservative from America’s political scene.

What they found, though not so widely publicized, was the inner workings of an efficient, informed and very involved governor that mounted an unprecedented 80 plus approval rating while in office. The people of Alaska loved her and appreciated her backbone and focus on making their state a better place."

Palin: the emails, the Paul Revere flap, and the foolish media

    From the article:

"Similarly, the mainstream media stands with egg dripping all over its face, yet again. Nothing in the emails contains the slightest hint that Palin was anything other than a hard-working Governor, a caring mother and wife, and an all-around good-natured human being…not exactly what the death squads of WaPo, the NYT, and other mainstream outlets had in mind.

This shockingly laughable scenario is in sharp contrast to the manner in which the media handled Barack Obama, whom it woefully failed to properly investigate in 2007-08. Where were all of the reporters who should have been camped outside the door of domestic terrorist William Ayers, who launched Obama’s political career from his living room?"

Rush on Palin’s emails: What a spectacular backfire!

    From the article:

"Rush started his show today noting what a spectacular backfire on the media it was that Sarah Palin withstood the media looking for dirt in every syllable of her 24,000 emails. He wonders who else could have withstood such an analysis.

Gov. Palin has been microscopically analyzed on an unprecedented level and she still comes up clean. I doubt anyone else could have withstood the intense scrutiny that she has undergone.

Politico: Emails Bolster the Message in ‘The Undefeated’  (June 11 2011)

      Form the article:

"It says something when even the Politico, not exactly known for their unbiased Palin coverage, is conceding that this surreal “colonoscopy” by the cartoonish mainstream media is backfiring.  And that’s exactly what it’s doing.  Much to the media’s chagrin, the emails show a serious and highly effective executive who was in full control of her administration. As Tim Crawford indicated yesterday, everyone should read the emails."

The Washington Post: Palin a “Definite Renegade” on Big Oil;Updated  ( June 12 2011)

        From the article:

"As the MSM and their readers continue to search through Governor Palin’s emails searching for non-existent bombshells, let me be one of the first to welcome the Washington Post to 2008.

As Ian mentioned earlier, the Washington Post recognized that Governor Palin’s emails showed that she budgeted frugally and was opposed to pork barrel spending. Now, the Washington Post recognizes that Governor Palin did not have a buddy-buddy relationship with Big Oil. Both of these supposedly new revelations are not new at all to Palin supporters who have followed her political rise after Senator McCain chose her as his VP nominee or even prior to that."

#Palinemails Show that the Center-Left Superintendent of the Anchorage School District Praised Palin for “Her Vision [and] Leadership”  (June 17 2011)

          From the article:

"If you don’t believe what we say about Governor Palin’s leadership, here’s what the center-left superintendent of the Anchorage School District said about Palin:

"Thank you so much for your vision, leadership, and support for our public schools this week. I cannot tell you how much all of us want to celebrate with you. The idea that we could actually plan ahead, really focus on student achievement, connecting with parents and families, and really digging into the serious issues of low graduation rates and high drop out rates excites me very much. We spend too much time trying to justify our collective needs, when we should be focused on teaching and learning.

You and your staff are to be commended for honoring the work of the Joint Funding Task Force and for honoring your commitments made during the election for early and forward funding."

About the  frivolous anti-Palin ethics complaints

There were many "ethics" complaints filed against Gov Palin. All complaints ,but two ,dismissed as lacking any merit. The other two were settlements where Governor Palin was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Under Alaskan law these are dealt with by the Alaskan Personnel Board, which body gives a final determination.

The members of the Personnel Board were appointed by Palin’s predecessor, Frank Murkowski–no friend of Palin.

To cut a long story short Gov.Palin was exonerated from blame in all cases without exception.

The two settlements where Gov.Palin was also cleared of any wrongdoing:

    1)  Governor Palin Reimburses the State for Kids’ Travel

There was no state law against the governor’s family traveling with her, and the personnel board found no wrongdoing on the part of the Sarah Palin
Because no guidance was provided in the law, the Palin administration followed historical precedent in travel decisions for the first family.
All of her travel expenses were originally approved by the Department of Administration!

The administration had decided to have the Attorney General establish a clearer set of guidelines that established a new “state interest” test for protocol travel and based on this set of new (!) guidelines Sarah Palin agreed to reimburse the state.
Sarah Palin has been exonerated of all wrongdoing (also) in this ethics act complaint. There was no finding of wrongdoing and there was no ethics violation.
The Alaska Personnel Board found no wrongdoing, but Sarah Palin agreed to reimburse the state.

    2)  The Legal Defense Fund Case.

Associated Press: "No Wrongdoing on Palin’s Part was Found" in Legal Defense Fund Case

No wrongdoing on Palin’s part was found. Investigator Timothy Petumenos said Palin acted in good faith and relied on a team of attorneys.

The only thing the team of attorneys did wrong was use the word “official” while trying to help pay for all the legal costs involved with a merciless, politically motivated, litigious campaign from Democrat operatives against Sarah Palin.

In essence, the investigator found that because of things such as the use of the word "Official" on the fund’s website, there is probable cause to believe that the fund itself could be in violation of Alaska ethics laws. However,  Sarah palin  did not do anything wrong since she acted on good faith on the advice of a team of lawyers who told her the fund was "unassailable" and in compliance with the law when it was formed.!

Under Alaskan law Gov.Palin had to cover her own legal fees.

Answering those lawsuits took up almost 100% of her time and the time of her staff, meaning she couldn’t govern. Those lawsuits were filed  to make it impossible for her to govern and to bankrupt her .

Since then (2010) Alaskan law has been changed which now covers the governor’s legal fees for such legal proceedings. That didn’t help Gov. Palin as she still had to pay the fees she accrued during that time.

    About troopergate.

The  the Bi-partisan Alaska Personnel Board , which is the final authority(!), ruled that Gov.Palin did not commit any ethics violation

I saw this, and I can’t help but wonder if they will tell a tale of a murderous TEA Party led by Julianne Moore.  An angry mob screaming racist slogans while the noble Democrats try to pass Obama-care, and Woody Harrelson with Ed Harris sighing about the genie that they unleashed.

And then poor Mitt Romney unable to overcome all of this hatred.

You see, the media really wants us to forget that George Bush melted down the economy, and they know that the TEA Party and Sarah Palin can be blamed for everything and anything.

I half expect the media to report that we would now be living in permanent bliss if it weren’t for the TEA Party.

Federal Court Tosses Illinois Ban on Concealed Carry, But Fight’s Not Over

Looks like some good news for a change as The Peoples Republic of Illinois takes a major hit!

U.S Condemns N. Korean Rocket Launch; Japan Calls for Urgent Security Council Meeting

Anyone expecting the sham communist presidency of the America-hating Comrade Obama to do anything over this other than applaud, in secret, the work of one of his like-minded dictators-in-arms, and encourage his friends in North Korea to quickly launch some more, has been living in an alternative universe the past four years!

Lieberman: We Don’t Want to Lose Our Freedom by Trying to Keep Terrorists from Crossing Border
Sen. Lieberman: Border Security ‘Better Than It’s Been Before’ — Against Hezbollah Threat

Yeah, and the tooth fairy exists, right Lieberman?

Poll: 21% of Small Business Owners Will Cut Their Workforce in 2013

What do you expect when this was the goal of Comrade Obama from the get-go in destroying the private sector by destroying THE ENGINE of the economy, small business, in order to populate an ever increasing government dole of dependent serfs upon a totalitarian state Leviathan for survival at the whim of an America-hating commie punk dictator!

Speaking as a Vietnam Era Navy veteran, REAL Americans are not about to sit by and watch Obama’s scorched-job policy succeed in wiping out the American dream for their children, grandchildren, and future generations having their unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness coming from Almighty God, which arrogant man can never take away.
Accordingly, we WILL RESIST the diabolic, morally bankrupt, unconstitutional, country-killing policies of Obama to his face wherever and whenever they rear their ugly heads on any level, local, state, and federal! We owe that to the fallen in all of America wars throughtout history to secure our aforementioned unalienable (God-given) rights, that their deaths are not rendered to have been in vain!

Obama Ends His ‘Engagement’ Policy With Syria by Recognizing the Opposition

Supporting the opposition for The Imam Obama is supporting the America-hating Christian persecuting Muslim Brotherhood, as has been more than evinced by the rotten fruits of Obama’s Arab Spring which has done nothing but foment more instability and violence in what was already the most volatile part of the world, supplying the chaos necessary for communists like Obama to survive!

Per recent reports, Obama and Hillary are funnelling weapons to these groups, which was the situation in Libya, a situation that got out of control resulting in the deaths of four Americans in harm’s way where the American dictum of "Leave no one behind" was replaced with "You’re on your own" providing little comfort to our military turned into cannon fodder by Obama’s rules of engagement that put a priority on the self-esteem of the radical jihadists to the point of unconscionably reading them their Miranda rights on the battlefield at the expense of the lives of our troops!

And if Americans don’t wake up, Obama is going to lead us into another world war putting our military at unnecessary risk in defense of the indefensible by supporting the aforementioned America-hating groups with the opposition not just coming from Syria, but from Syria’s allies Russia and China, Obama’s friends, who would be delighted to help him complete his willful destruction of an America that Obama is in the process of unilaterally disarming to fund his morally bankrupt unconstitutional Marxist Socialist agenda in the face of America’s enemies arming to the teeth!

Christianity Declines, Unbelief Rises, Islam Fastest-Growing Faith in England

Islam is patient. They, above all, understand the importance of reproducing for the survival of their nations worldwide, and the nations that they covet, in their goal of bringing the world under Shariah law. The West, by contrast, has no problem contracepting and aborting generations into oblivion. It basically comes down to simple numbers. Islam will outlast the West because the West has a death wish for its survival in choosing not to reproduce to the extent necessary for its survival, a reproduction that cannot be turned ON like a spigot!

Harkin: ‘Medicaid Supports Even Middle-Class Families’

Memo to lunatic Harkin:  The Middle-Class, which is economically dying due to the morally bankrupt policies of Obama, wouldn’t need Medicaid, nor would the increasing poor, due to Obama’s reign of class warfare terror whereby everyone will be equally poor as a result of having their jobs intentionally trashed by a tyrant needing dependent slaves to keep his politburo in power!

None of this is going to matter unless The Communist Party, alias The Democrats, has its spending reined in, given the skyrocketing debt which will easily reach 20 Trillion by 2016 at the rate we’re going in the face of unfunded entitlements of upwards of 100 Trillion, i.e., the inevitable monetary collapse is the REAL fiscal cliff that should be of paramount concern because of the irresponsible actions of those willfully trying to destroy America from within, READ THE OBAMUNISTS and their enablers regardless of their political stripes – a collapse that is in America’s not too distant future!

You can expect mr obam to send N. Korea a strongly worded letter any day now.

10 random thoughts on the presidential election, the NFL and current events:

    1) I was flat wrong in my prediction that President Obama would never get over 50% of the vote against Romney. And I was wrong in my 3rd party prediction that it would generate 3% of the vote (was 1.7% and similar to 2004 numbers). At no time did I believe Obama could attain over 50% of the popular vote given that 52%–55% of the voters favored the repeal of Obamacare. Perhaps it shows how schizophrenic voters are or how toxic Romney was.

    2) The blowout by the Patriots of the upstart Texans on Monday reminds me of how well Romney was touted as doing during the summer and general election campaign, only to realize that we had been fooled in believing Romney had magically transformed himself to the voters.

    3) I don’t quite understand the "bounty scandal in the NFL." The New Orleans Saints and some of their players are accused of deliberately setting out to injure players from the other team and getting paid for doing that. Let me get this straight. Defensive players are taught to attack the QB and put him on the ground in the most violent manner possible and they are paid a salary to do that. Couldn’t the bountys be considered a bonus for doing a good job? Were the players acting outside the NFL rules when they rushed QB’s? I don’t think that has ever been the issue.

    4) Mitt Romney reminds me of an employer who has bankrupted his company causing all employees to lose their jobs and growing more frustrated with their future lifestyle and environment while he remains ensconced in his multiple homes and cars and with Olympian detachment carrying on like his ineptitude was not a factor in losing the election and carrying no shame he blew a winnable election.

    5) Read that new starting quarterbacks like Jake Locker and Christian Ponder are being crticized for not performing like Andrew Luck, RGIII and Russell Wilson and not getting the time to develop as QB’s were given in the past. Folks, I would invite you to trace starting QB’s from the start of their career and I would guarantee you there is always going to be the exception to the rule but in at least 90% of the cases if a QB doesn’t show much in his first 20 games as a starter, he’s not about to set the world on fire in the future either.

    6) In the past two weeks the Chiefs and Cowboys pulled the upset after a tragedy "within their football family" supposedly motivated the players to raise their game. The question which is rarely posed–in the words of Don Draper to Peggy Olson in The Suitcase in Mad Men, "That’s what the money is for."

    7) Think about it, because the elections are held on the first Tuesday in November it is much too easy for conservatives to forget about politics as they become more involved with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years’ festivities. Instead conservatives need to look inwards for several months imho to why the election was lost. But as I fear most conservatives want to move on and bury their heads in the sand and remain stupid.

    8) Drew Brees is considered one of the greatest QB’s not only of this era but of all time. He is 6 feet tall. But scouts continue to beat the drum for the 6’4″ 225 pound QB prototype with the rocket arm when one of the most dynamic QB’s to play the game in years is drafted in the third round of the 2012 draft because he is 5’11″ tall who is only an inch shorter than Brees: Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. It is this type of thinking that keeps giving us flawed GOP presidential candidates who are all senior citizens.

    9) But with all the talk of great rookie QB’s, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers continue to be three of the greatest QB’s of all time. They all make the quarterback position look far too easy. Why does the GOP presidential primaries never attract politicians of this quality. Instead we are stuck with the Alex Smith types (gama manager), Mark Sanchez types (has his job because of his contract status and the preference of upper management), and Carson Palmer types (produces stats that belie the fact he is not getting the job done).

    10) And how can we forget about the Buffalo Bills, the ultimate exercise in futility who have been eliminated officially from the NFL playoffs for yet another season, this being 13 seaons in a row. If I were a Bills fans I woud never let up on why this has happened as I believe conservatives should nover let go of discussing why the GOP has only won the popular vote in only one presidential election in the past six.

The Bills are the laughingstock of the NFL while the GOP is the laughingstock among those who closely observe presidential politics. It’s really unbelievable how wrong both these organizations have been over the past decade or two. Even the law of averages should dictate that even a blind squirrel finds an acorn eventually. These two groups are even more blind than a blind squirrel.

    • palin45potus

Techno, I was trying to come up with a QB situation comparable to Tom Brady replacing Drew Bledsoe after Bledsoe’s injury, and the only one I can come up with is to go all the way back to a guy named George Shaw for Baltimore who was their starter but broke his leg in 1956, and was replaced by Johnny Unitas.

I can’t find another who has both the Hall-of-Fame credentials as well as the unlikely odds that Brady faced.  Even Joe Montana was a 3rd rounder, and Walsh was always planning on giving him the job if he could.

      Maybe Roger Staubach?

    • BrianusBerkleianus

      Thanks, Techno!

    • barracuda43

You might be wrong about the Jets also. If Pittsburg and Indianapolis lose Sunday which is likely and the Jets win they are in the playoff hunt big time. Thats a lot of rewriting.

    • TexS2012

From the time Romney said he was running for President and all thru and up to November 6th, I did not think he would be President. He never made a real connection to The People, if he did no one was talking about it.

Instead, Romney acted like a business executive that people couldn’t warm up to and didn’t get the chance. He came across to me as just a tired, dignified older man who wanted to be President, going through the motions to make it happen. I wonder, if in his hearts of hearts he really thought it would happen.

I have my doubts. Now that’s if over, what does he really have to offer to the American people and the country? If he doesn’t have anything to make a change in our country now, with all our problems what makes one think he would have accomplished anything as President.
The country doesn’t need any more RINO’s we need patriot leaders like a Sarah Palin.

    Yeah, I know, too early…..

    I wrote in Sarah.

The fact that you have to write her in tells you everything you need to know about Townhall.

  • palin45potus

What an appropriate picture that has been selected for today’s open thread.

Man, we need our #22 leading the charge again.

Anatomy of historical revisionism.  Lefties write history (or at least their version receives the largest amount of exposure due to their control of the media).  This is how it’s done:

    • Freempg

History it is said is written by the winners. Even when the liberals lose, our history is still written (and taught) by liberals. Or perhaps they’ve been winning all along.

    • Marc

History is now written by the (leftist) whiners.

  • 1776er

This one will have you rolling on the floor.

    Oh, those French!

They attack wealth and prosperity in France like rabid pit bulls then are shocked, shocked to witness an Oklahoma stampede out of that misbegotten socialist valhala by the most productive people in the whole country.  They are all moving to Belgium!

California is witnessing the same phenomenon.  Other Blue State evacuations to follow.

"These individuals are leaving "because they want to get even richer," he said. "We cannot fight poverty if those with the most, and sometimes with a lot, do not show solidarity and a bit of generosity," he added."

This has got to get on SNL.   Smile while we fleece you, you no good sniveling evil rich guys.  What? You don’t want to live in solidarity with us cheese eaters?  What’s wrong with you?
We cannot fight poverty unless the enemy sits still and lets us rob them blind and re-distribute everything they have worked for to people who didn’t –work that is.

"France’s prime minister has slammed wealthy citizens fleeing the country’s punitive tax on high incomes as greedy profiteers seeking to "become even richer".

Uh, duh! Mr. Prime Minister.  All "profiteers" everywhere seek to "become even richer".  It’s called Freedom and The Pursuit of Happiness.  It’s a God given right, buddy.  Know any "profiteers" that seek to become poorer in "solidarity" with their fellow Frenchmen?  No?  Didn’t think so.

I wonder how our own Marxist Hollywood cheese eaters are feeling about the likelihood that Obama and the Marxist Party are about to lower the boom as hard as they can on the Gerard Depardieus of Beverly Hills:  "Your accountant said whaaaaat?"

Will they flee to Bermuda like Michael Douglas and other Hollywood icons to live in a 0% income tax state?  Will that greedy rich "profiteer" film maker Michael Moore volunteer to become poorer in "solidarity" with his fellow Americans?  Or, will he, too, move to Belgium?

Whose side will they come down on?  A good guess:  socialism, like paying taxes, is only for the little people.  How much does a one way ticket to Belgium cost?

    • brightfuture12

You realize that in France the very wealthy ( 1 million euros per year ) are going to be taxed 75% ! In the States we are talking about 37%…

      • myfairlady

You realize that 37% is only the federal taxes, then you have state, city and county.  It adds up.

        • Don

Don’t forget the sales taxes and the VAT (Value added tax).

Just the opinion of a dumb ole (Natural Born Citizen)
          country boy.

        • brightfuture12

The same for France plus the Property Taxes and as Don said below the VAT so at the end it’s even more than 75%

      • 1776er

I’m surprised all those greedy rich Frenchmen don’t relocate to Communist China which takes it a lot easier on the Rich Capitalists than does Socialist France.

This link should open a few eyes about how close we are coming to being a Communist state here in the D.S.

For those of you contemplating the move here is the progressive marginal tax rates in China. The conversion from Remnibi to Dollars on an annualized income basis  (6.25 Yuan to the Dollar):

        Chinese Communist Income Tax Schedule
Marginal Tax Rate     Annual Taxable Income

Bush Tax Cut Marginal Rates (single filers)
Marginal Tax Rate     Annual Taxable Income

Reversion to Clinton Rates If Nothing Done (single filers)
Marginal Tax Rate     Annual Taxable Income

So, pick your poison.  Communist Chinese rates or Communist American rates.

The average salary in China in 2011 was 42,452 Yuan or $6,792 annually.  Puts the average worker squarely in the 10% tax bracket.  The average of all those low paid factory workers drags the average way down. No wonder we don’t manufacturer anything anymore.

However, there are 300 million middle class families in China today, and growing.

But for evil greedy rich in China it doesn’t look much more horrible than the D.S.  You still would prefer the 40% Federal Tax level  in the D.S. but start adding in state, local, sales tax, etc. etc. etc. and the comparison begins to blur considerably.

Pick your poison all you greedy evil rich 1%ers.  For the entrepreneurial type the still low wage Chinese labor force could leverage a pretty good living if you are in the manufacture for export business or the Hollywood entertainment business.

        • Min Max

You should check out Singapore’s tax rate. First $20,000 is tax free. Maximum tax rate of 20% for anything above $320,000. Plus no capital gains/death/estate tax.

    • Exgunman

There are not enuf waffles in Belgium for michael moore………………..

    • Min Max

And this comes as a shock to the liberals? /facepalm

They’re even more stupid than I first imagined. And how much do you think his fancy suit cost? Hmmm?

Not just stupid, but a hypocrite too!

  • Christopher H Fromme

This is from the Willow Run Tea party I got a long email about there part in Lansing: this is part
Had no more than nicely gotten home when I caught Gov Synder giving his press conference on TV after having signed the bill.  In 90 days, it will be law.  There will be some delays with existing contracts, but Freedom to Work is here! You can get a good account of things here: am reminded of the old saying, “When God closes a door, he opens a window.”  In November, we had, I fear, the death of our nation.  In December, we are having the rebirth of Michigan. The GOP has done many good things to bring jobs, business, and prosperity to MI.  Now, we must exhort them to go even further and repeal the Prevailing Wage Law.  This is the noxious bill that forces the government to pay union scale for any project they undertake whether or not they employ union workers.Thank God for Tuesday and thanks to all of you who participated, who wanted to but could not, and who were with us in spirit and prayer.  We have played our part in history.  We are far from done, but this is a monumental beginning.

    • 1776er

Stand back and watch the jobs begin to pour back into Michigan.   Gov Snyder is swinging that state around with the help of the TEA Party.  I just wish he would give Sarah Palin some of the credit.  She stood in the snow and backed him when there were pressure few who would.

The Marxists cannot let an example of the success of free enterprise and capitalism stand as an indictment of their failed socialist pipe dreams.  They will do everything to undermine freedom.  There will be blood.  I believe them.

    • smbren

Chris, are you a fellow Michigander? I am in Taylor, the home of my representative that stated "there will be blood" LOL

      • sarahsupporter

I am originally from Michigan as well and I know the Taylor area, my brother use to live there :)

      • Christopher H Fromme

No, i went to the event that Sarah spoke at in July sponsored by AFP & Willow Run.  Used to live in Toledo OH and have cousins that live near Adrian Mi  Been in Pittsburgh since 1976.  I get the updates which are good for networking by being a member of their site

      Thanks, Christopher!!

    Good Morning, Small Army!!

Please take a few minutes of your time today to call (or write) your representative to tell them you want them to abstain from RENEWING JOHN BOEHNER’s speakership.
All it takes is one phone call, or a letter I have provided in a link today.
Just 16 members of the Republican conference abstain from voting for Boehner as Speaker in January, and he will be one vote shy of the 218 necessary to re-elect him as Speaker.
Here are three great links with all the information:
For the phone number and names suggested to replace Boehner (most recent article).
For the list of Who was purged, by who, letter you can use, and direct link to AMA who is leading this project.
For a great Video to pump you up!
C’mon, let’s make this happen!  BOEHNER HAS TO GO!!  Remember, we’re small but potent.
Have a great day, as always.

    • Guest

"Boehner has to go" ????? That sounds like BHO.

  • smbren

We do have to pay attention now to the sharia compliant language law they are trying to push through in the lame duck.

  • smbren

My comment was meant for a reply to Chris, disqus put it where it wanted to. My above comment pertains to Michigan legislation coming up in the lame duck, not federal.

As I was reading the news the other day I saw a headline that said that Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii had been hospitalized, and it caused me to reflect a bit.

I probably have political views that are a bit apart from his, but I also realize that the number of veterans we have serving in Congress has probably reached an all-time low, and it’s unlikely to turn around anytime soon.  Different time and different manning requirements.

Imagine what Pearl Harbor Day must have been like for Inouye and his fellow Nisei, who had to know that life was about to take a turn for the worse.  They were hated by all, and soon were rounded up and sent with a few of their possessions to internment camps far from home.

Yet Inouye and his fellow Nisei made up a unit that performed heroically in Italy, and Inouye left an arm there.

Regardless of political leanings, I salute you Senator, and all who have answered the call of duty.

Late Edit: I wonder if some of these old-time Democrat politicians with their New-Deal type of politics look at what has happened to their party with bitterness?

    • Quiet_Righty

To your last question, probably not. I am certain that Inouye was quite comfortable with his permanent U.S. Senate seat, not being any kind of dissenting voice in the Democratic Party.

    • BrianusBerkleianus

      Thanks, 45, for this post!!

A Christmas Flash Mob. Well worth watching.

Just the opinion of a dumb ole (Natural Born Citizen)
    country boy.

    • Don

Maybe a Christmas flash mob should visit the schools, court houses and government offices to let the liberals know that it is a celebration of Christ’s birth and not a happy holliday.
