ABC interviews Dem Senator Menendez and forgets to ask him about the FBI’s ongoing investigation into his alleged dalliances with underage prostitutes

Can anyone conceive of a circumstance under which a sitting Republican Senator who’s currently being investigated by the FBI for allegedly doing the nasty with underage hookers wouldn’t be asked about said investigation on one of the big Sunday morning network talk shows? I can’t either. But if you’re Democrat, of course, it doesn’t even warrant a mention. Via Newsbusters:

On Friday it was revealed  that the FBI is investigating Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) for allegedly sleeping with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic.

Despite this, when Menendez was given a six-minute interview with Martha  Raddatz on ABC’s This Week Sunday, he was not asked one question about  the investigation or the allegations (commentary follows with full transcript at  end of post):

Raddatz began the interview asking Menendez about what Sen. John McCain  (R-Ariz.) had previously said on the program concerning immigration. She  followed this up by asking Menendez what he wanted to hear from the President  about this issue.

Next,  Raddatz asked Menendez about the controversy surrounding the attack on our  consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year – in particular, how he felt Secretary  of State Hillary Clinton did during her testimony before Congress last week.

The next subject Raddatz chose was whether Menendez felt Chuck Hagel would  be confirmed as Obama’s Secretary of Defense.

Raddatz concluded the interview by asking Menendez about the looming  senatorial race in New Jersey between incumbent Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D) and  Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D).

All vitally important issues, I’m sure (sarc.), but had this been a GOP politician, the entire interview would have been about binders full of underage hookers. Indeed ABC would have devoted the entire first half of the show to grilling the Senator, followed by a half hour of six or eight liberals and one token Republican sitting at the "roundtable" discussing how insensitive the Republican Party is to women. Readers may recall that it was Martha Raddatz who repeatedly allowed Slow Joe "Bidenopoulos" to bloviate over Paul Ryan’s answers at the VP debate. Now here she is carrying the Democrats’ water again. What a surprise.

To be fair, David Vitter doesn’t have to answer those questions either.

I suppose prosecutorial discretion in this case rests with the "rule of law" Attorney General, Eric Holder.  At least the FBI is doing its job, but it will be up to Holder to prosecute.

This situation cries out for more press coverage.  Those girls were, allegedly, underage.  Were they there voluntarily or are they victims of the notorious sex trade in underage working girls who were compelled into that life.

I detect an insider from the FBI blowing the whistle on this stinker before it gets entirely swept under the "rule of law" rug.  Normally, you would not hear of such an investigation until it was concluded and indictments handed down.  And you shouldn’t, unless the fix is already in, and you are a conscientious FBI investigator who will not stand by and watch justice turn a blind eye to sordid criminality.

A perfect example of Rand’s "aristocracy of pull," and of Sarah’s corrupt "permanent political class."

Bummer, and he had his whole "what difference does it make" dodge all ready, too!

In my younger days, with my family I vacationed in the Dominican Republic.  We’re talking 30 years ago.  I remember seeing European men with their "girlfriends" at the beach.  Think Pretty Woman but with Julia Roberts played by an underage girl with no better options.  And no happy ending.

    Disgusting.

Menendez is one of the slimiest people around, a Democrat Senator from NJ, though Christie, allegedly Repub, is trying to catch up with his stupid Obama butt-kissing.

You have to be kidding me?

Has the GOP said anything?  No?  Well, there you go.

The All Barack Channel is no different than the others.

    PRESStitutes.

Though Menendez slept with under-age girls, he tried to make up for it in typical liberal fashion by sleeping with elderly men.
