Governor Palin: ‘Three Cheers for Owen Groesser'; Video Updates

via Facebook:

Three cheers for Owen Groesser, an eighth grader with Down Syndrome who became an overnight social media star after he sunk two 3-pointers for his junior high basketball team in Rochester, Michigan. Thanks to his social media fans using the hashtag #GetOwenOnSportsCenter, he made it on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays.

This is such a beautiful reminder of what gifts from God these children really are. Too often they’re not given a chance because of fear — fear of the unknown, as any shocked parent feels–myself included–when hearing the diagnosis. But giving life a chance in these perceived less than ideal circumstances can turn out to be the greatest gift and blessing any family may ever know. Just give life a chance and see how beautiful it is. Today’s world needs more of this!

– Sarah Palin

Deuteronomy 30:19

Update by Adrienne Ross: Here’s what Deuteronomy 30:19 states:

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Here’s Owen in action:

Update II: Governor Palin has now tweeted and Facebooked the full video featuring Owen’s two three-pointers. Amazing and inspirational!

Here’ s a moving speech of Sarah at Vanderburg, IN in April, 2009.  This I consider as the best speech to understand who Sarah is:  a woman of deep faith and honesty, and in a poignant way shows an innocence about her …a pureness of her being.

Btw Youtube has videos of the other parts of the speech.

i think the best ticket for the gop will be sarah palin and rand paul.  both are not afraid to stand up to the dems and call it like they see it.  am going to push for this ticket.  no to christie, no to rubio both in the clutches of the gop bush/rino clan and a sure fired NO to jebbie.

How sweet. However, I wish she would spend more time developing a conservative grass roots movement/network, especially among young conservative women. John Boehner was correct when he said that Obama wants to destroy the Republican Party. However, he didn’t go far enough. Obama and the Democratic Party want to destroy all opposition. If the Dems regain the House in 2014 and again win the Presidency in 2016, the game is over. There will be no coming back, no matter how many Facebook messages or prayers Palin sends out. It’s high time she began building a nationwide organization. She is the only Republican who possesses the charisma, intelligence and wit to do it.

Well, my thought is she still has time to think about it up until the midterm election in November 2014. Hopefully, she has made her decision by then.

My brother-in-law has Down’s; he’ll turn 60 next month.  How wonderful to publicly applaud this young man, his school and his family.  We watched the ESPN interview — Scott Van Pelt conducted a great and very respectful interview.  Apparently Van Pelt did this after he was contacted by Robert Griffen III — enjoy life however it finds you!

Happened to see SC today as they showed the video and then interviewed Owen and his dad.  Wonderful story.

    Wonderful post by the Guv!

Thank you Gov. Palin.  I have a niece who is mildly retarded and she has the biggest, kindest heart of anyone I know.  Her biggest problem is not her mental limitations but that her parents have never sought training for her so she can be more independent, happy and part of society. (she is over 30 years old now).  I have done all I can to help her get those things but I was told since I have no legal guardianship, there is nothing more I can do.  Talking to the parents is like talking to a brick wall.  It’s sad.

Wonderful.  Sports can bring out the best in us.  For every Lance Armstrong, there are hundreds of Owen Groessers and their delighted fans.  And, of course, there is still the one and only Sarah Palin (with an assist from Adrienne) to remind us all.

Hurray for Sarah Palin, our future President.  The stipulations and restrictions Foxnews imposed on her were simply un-American.  By turning down the lucrative contract, Sarah has once again chosen integrity over greed, the American people over corporations, and America over the far left which Foxnews is rapidly a mouthpiece of.
