    Good morning all.

Excellent article about Gov.Palin’s record of accomplishments.
    —————-

‘Who Is the Real Sarah Palin?’

    From the article:

    Executive Authority and Success

Palin was the first female and youngest governor to be elected in Alaska, which is tied for the second most powerful governorship in the United States, according to Thad Beyle, a political scientist at the University of North Carolina.
    ——

    Budgeting and Spending

Palin cut state spending between 2007 and 2010 by 9.5% while also reducing federal earmark requests by more than 80% during her tenure. She used her line-item veto to cut more than a quarter billion in superfluous spending in both 2007 and 2008. In 2009, she instituted a temporary hiring freeze, while at the same time reducing spending by more than 33% between FY2009 and FY2010.

In stark contrast to President Obama and other governors whose fiscal records are dogged by credit downgrades, Palin left Alaska with an improved credit rating during and following her tenure as governor. Standard & Poor’s raised Alaska’s credit rating from AA to AA+ in April 2008. Then in 2010, both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s upgraded Alaska to AAA for the first time in the state’s history due to policies enacted by Palin that made the state’s finances more than solvent.
    ——–

    Jobs

Under Palin’s leadership, Alaska was 2nd in job growth, and 3rd in the change in its unemployment rate, compared to the other states. Alaska also saw a record number of oil jobs in both 2008 and 2009, while natural resource and logging jobs increased 13.7% during Palin’s tenure.

In fact, Palin’s record on jobs compared to the country as a whole was stronger than the President’s and other prominent governors’ during their respective tenures
    ——-

    Business Growth

Alaska was an opportunity society under Palin. Alaska moved up from the 4th most business tax-friendly state to the 3rd most business tax-friendly state during her tenure.

Palin was a firm believer in tax cuts. In addition to lowering unemployment insurance tax rates, she cut business license fees in half, suspended the state motor fuel tax, and signed legislation, allowing Alaska-based businesses the same opportunities as out-of-state businesses. All of this was consistent with her record as Mayor of Wasilla, where she eliminated small business inventory taxes and cut property tax mill levies every year she was in office.
    ——-

    Energy

Energy issubeteutiful photoses are Palin’s forte, and her record proves it. In 2007, Governor Palin signed ACES—Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share—a net tax on oil profits that was passed in a bipartisan and transparent manner. ACES replaced the corruption-tainted oil tax plan of the previous administration, which was passed in secret and ultimately lead to the federal indictment of several Alaskan state officials and oil company personnel. Furthermore, ACES provided oil companies with incentives to develop. The progressivity of the tax meant producers were protected when oil prices were low, but the interest of the resource owners—the people of Alaska—were appropriately protected as well to achieve a fair return for their resource.

Most importantly, ACES led to jobs, increased development, and a huge surplus for Alaska.

Perhaps Palin’s biggest energy achievement was spearheading the creation of the Alaska natural gas pipeline. After five decades of unsuccessful attempts by Alaskan administrations to bring a gas pipeline project into existence, Palin and her team introduced the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) in March 2007. AGIA passed the Legislature by a vote of 57-1 in May of that year.

Unlike the behind-closed-doors cronyism of past administrations, Palin’s AGIA legislation was conducted out in the open and made use of a genuine free-market competitive bidding process. Palin’s AGIA placed not only Alaska, but also the nation, further on the path toward energy independence.

Palin played hardball with the big oil companies in her state. According to the Alaska state constitution, Alaskans are the resource owners in their state; and it was Palin’s duty as their CEO to get the best deal for Alaskans while at the same time partnering with these oil companies for the mutual benefit of all.
    ———-

    Ethics Reform and Transparency

Ethics reform was the hallmark of Palin’s governorship. She was swept into office on a reform message in a state with a serious corruption problem. Alaska at the time was undergoing a federal investigation that culminated in the indictment of various corrupt lawmakers. Palin had made a name for herself as an ethics crusader when she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservative Commission and blew the whistle on fellow commissioner and state GOP head Randy Ruedrich for doing party business on state time. This resulted in Ruedrich receiving a $12,000 fine—the largest civil fine for ethics in the state’s history. Alaskans respected the fact that Palin was not afraid of taking on the establishment of her own party.

As governor, Palin fought for and signed sweeping bipartisan ethics legislation, which restricted lobbyists, improved disclosure laws, and improved executive and legislative branch ethics laws. In the face of corruption, she continued to take on her own party when it was necessary. She also increased transparency by releasing her oil tax bill to her constituents 17 days prior to the special legislative session, opening up natural gas pipeline deals to all potential parties, putting the state checkbook online, and not allowing lobbyists in her office.
    ——–

    Education

Palin forward funded education to allow districts greater flexibility, supported increased vocational training and early education funding, opened up opportunity to Alaskan students to participate in regional medical schools, and increased overall funding for special needs education by 175% (before she herself became the mother of son with special needs). Believing that the best reform was close to home, Palin wisely also chose to monitor rather than participate in national standards for education.
    ——-

    Health Care

Palin introduced health care transparency legislation that established an Alaska health care information office to give consumers factual information on quality and cost to help them make better-informed health care decisions. Recognizing that health care must be market-and business driven, rather than restricted by government, Palin proposed repeal of Certificate of Need—a layer of bureaucracy that prevents medical facility development. She established the Alaska Health Strategies Planning Council, reduced Medicaid assessments by 83%, and expanded Alaska’s SeniorCare benefits program for low-income seniors.

"I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener." John 15:1

  • jerseymark

It looks like we are done with the “Teacher”, at least for now. We a re not done with the discussion
of Hell and those who will be consigned there. This passage comes from Mr. Lewis’s book, “The Problem of Pain”:

“It is objected that the ultimate loss of a single soul means the defeat of omnipotence. And so it
does. In creating being with free will, omnipotence from the outset submits to the possibility of such defeat. What you call defeat, I call miracle: for to make things which are not Itself, and thus to become, in a sense, capable of being resisted by Its own handiwork, is the most astonishing and unimaginable of all the feats we attribute to the Deity. I willingly believe that the damned are, in one sense, successful, rebels to the end; that the doors of hell are locked on the INSIDE. I do not mean that the ghosts may not wish to come out of hell, in the vague fashion wherein an envious man ‘wishes’ to be happy: but they certainly do not will even the first preliminary stages of that self-abandonment through which alone the soul can reach any good. They enjoy forever the horrible freedom they have demanded, and are therefore self-enslaved: just as the blessed,
forever submitting to obedience, become through all eternity more and more free.”

There is a great deal to discuss concerning this passage. One of the most revealing things I came to understand fairly recently which caused me to add a few paragraphs to the end of The Jesus Trap (jesustrap.com for free download) is the realization that since God knew from the beginning how everything would play out with what He set in motion with the Creation, and since He has the ability and power to modify what He was about to do in some fashion so as to modify the result, I had to conclude that what has transpired from the initial stages of the Paradise through the Fall, including Satan’s rebellion against His plan, the impact of the fall with Satan as “the god of this world”, the need for God to reintroduce Himself through a “peculiar people” in the process
of setting the stage for the Son to come and demonstrate God’s great love for us by dying in our place to open the way for God to again offer eternal life to men and women on the simple test of faith in Jesus and continuing through the Church Age as Sons and Daughters are born of the Spirit until such time as He achieves His goals for eternity – IS EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED FROM THE BEGINNING. Therefore, the fact that some, or even most, people would not accept the gift
offered them in Jesus, was known before it all started and as such, does not constitute a defeat at all. God set it all in motion knowing the results and it pleased Him then and pleases Him now. Since His Sons and Daughters are the only carryover into the New Heavens and New Earth of eternity, this result was His entire purpose for the Creation. The whole point was/is to give birth to many, many Sons and Daughters and show them just how much He loves them through God’s
death on the cross in our place in the process defeating Satan’s hold on mankind won in the Garden.

Next, I do believe that ultimately “the doors of hell are locked on the inside” for the reason expressed by Mr. Lewis. When unsaved man comes into the presence of God at the White Throne Judgment referred to in Revelation, they will choose to be apart from Him, just as such men will hide from Jesus’ presence at the Second Coming and ask the rocks to fall upon them. Deep down within them, even the most staunch atheist knows that there is God and they hate that fact as they simply refuse to submit to His authority. They know that it is His will that all men and women submit to His will and as an expression of their rebellion against Him and what they no doubt see as His tyranny, they seek to gain as many people as they can to join their rebellion thereby depriving God of their submission and worship. With this mindset, they will grudgingly bow the knee and confess that Jesus is Lord as they will have no choice at that point but they will not give up their rebellion and in final defiance to God, choose Hell. OF COURSE, A LIKELY ALTERNATIVE IS THAT THEY WILL RECOGNIZE THEIR GRAVE ERROR, REALIZE FULLY WHAT THEIR FOOLISHNESS HAS COST THEM AND WAIL AND GNASH THEIR TEETH AS THEY ARE SENT TO THE LAKE OF FIRE.

jersey, I have CS Lewis’s books also and I like reading your posts from his books and than you lay out just how mankind’s foolish attempts to dispute the Word of God is on going as we see it evan today and they choose to live their lives in defiance.
I think you would like this website:  http://www.founders.org/

To jersey: Chapter 39 is regarding:  "DEATH AND THE SOUL’S IMMORTALITY"

"WE proceed next to the consideration of the death of man, and other topics which are intimately connected with it. In the present chapter will be discussed death; the immortality of the soul; and the condition of the latter between the hour of death, and that of reunion with the body."

          ~
This chapter has explained so many questions I had on these topics jersey, and I have to tell you my spirit is revivied after reading this chapter. I hope it is the same for you. God Bless His Word.

Women will now be in front line combat and the military is suppose to choose what combat duty they will have.  What a joke.  Our leaders in the military have already given in to the Obama Administration.  I heard all over the radio yesterday talk about women who meet the standards should be allowed to fight on the front lines.  Women right now no not meet the standards. The standards for women are far less than the standards for men on PT tests.  A 120 lb women can not carry the same weight as a man.  She will be at a disadvantage on the battle field.  I guess Obama will fix it by making Cafe Standards for weapons.

    • M_Minnesota

This plus the politically correct "rules of engagement" our soldiders have when having the choice to fire upon an enemy. The  enemy almost has to be right on top of our soldiers.

      • cnswpassion

Our military is being decimated morally by our own government.  The Obama administration is stripping the moral beliefs of our male and female soldiers.  Our officers are under such scrutiny there is no freedom to speak the obvious truth.  I predict that many soldiers will get out of the military as soon as their enlistments are up.  Expect a Draft within the next 5 years.  Take a good look at your children and grandchildren, they will be forced to serve.  Some people think this would be good.  The all volunteer force has proven to be the best.  Our government does not care what is best.  The politicians just want their own way.  They do not listen to the people.

        • http://twitter.com/johnnorton7 john norton

Meanwhile Obama has ben replaceing our war Generals(4 recently, quietly) with his own pacifists, like he did in the dept of Justice, again premeditated, calculated and malicious because like his father hes anti-colonial…

    • GeraldGoff

works in isreal and other countries.  many of our female soldiers are already on the ‘front’ lines performing their duties with honor.  if they can do the job, let them.

Actually, I can’t read minds. All I have to go on is what is on the page.

Substituting abusive remarks for evidence is a personal attack. This type of attack usually happens when a person cannot support his or her position. Attacking the other is used as a distraction, in hopes that readers won’t see that the point is, in fact, valid.

My comment is true. Whether or not you like me does not change the accuracy of my observation.

LOL… I see U still hve your talking points dwn…

    • palmerguy

Couple of thoughts on this – if and when the draft is started up again what will the women who want to be housewifes and professionals etc. do when their number comes up, also the men in our culture are raised to protect women and they will jump in front of a bullet to protect a woman from harm, just like in life outside of the military.

      • http://twitter.com/johnnorton7 john norton

Obama and Panetta knew wht they were doing by throwing this monkey wrench into the gears… !!! and it was intentional, sooner they are called out for it the better…

  • CBDenver

Today the morning talk radio is focused on Panetta’s ruling that women will be allowed in combat.  What they are not talking about is Hillary’s Bengahzi testimony.   Was the announcement that women will be allowed in combat a distraction?

We need to realize that the mainstream media is public enemy number one.  The mainstream media is on par with the German media of the 1930′s.  What we get for news is socialist-progressive propaganda.  Conservatives need to develop an alternative to the mainstream media and make it our goal to marginalize the mainstream media.

People talk about the race card.  Yesterday you Saw Hillary Clinton play the woman card.  She cried at the right times and she feigned ignorance by not reading the cables that came from Benghazi.  Somehow this makes her look like a great Secretary of State in the eyes of the stupid.  I find it disgusting to see, so called powerful women, act like this. When women behave in this way, the bottom line is, it is manipulative.

And to see a woman tolerate her husband sleeping around while she knew about is also weak and pathetic. One of my students said she really admired Hillary. Heck no!!!

      • cnswpassion

Yes, Sarah is the example of a women who is a true leader.  She does not have to act like a man to do it, and she never plays the female manipulative game. I admire her immensely.  I speak of her and her accomplishments to a lot of people who have the wrong view of her.  I was able to change the mind of my 86 year old father-in-law.  He has come to admire her also.

        • jester2939

I love educating people about the Governor. The open-minded people come away with respect for her once they learn about her history of fighting corruption. I really think that corruption and crony capitalism is a message that many Americans will respond to, since it’s not limited to one political party. Sarah is the only national figure with any authority on this subject.

          • happymullah

And tell them to visit C4P and read Z100 posts.  That ought to debunk the MSM negative memes regarding Sarah.  VIVA SARAH !

      • barracuda43

Hi jester! Yesterday going to the office I switched radio station and got Mark Davis on 660 which I don’t care for him much. I stopped when I heard the discussion of 2016 Presidential race and Sarahs name came up. He is all in for Rubio who he states has all the four elements for president. He went on to add that Sarah has all the elements except communication which is her downfall. Nearly drove off the road trying to call him to take him on. Of course I couldn’t get in it was busy. He was talking to the guy from Daily Caller Matt who is promoting Rubio. I sure hope Sarah runs to prove all the doubters how wrong they are.

        • jester2939

What!?! Mark Davis is too full of himself! She’s an excellent communicator who can encapsulate an issue in a memorable phrase that gets people’s attention. What’s more, she actually MEANS what she says. Who cares about a silver-tongued politican who communicates a bunch of lies well. Too bad you didn’t get through.

I stopped listening to him a loooooong time ago. He talks over guests, and he’s been way off on Sarah for years. I was glad when he had to leave WBAP. Plus, it really gets on my nerves when he pronounces the "h’s" in words like: what, where, why, when.
