Please, Make It Stop!

Many of my friends have been posting a video clip of Alex Jones on Piers Morgan telling the British liberal elitist that "1776 will commence again" if the government tries to take our guns.  They all think it’s great, but they forget who he is.

Jones is a 9/11 truther, a bona fide member of the tin-foil hat brigade who was interviewed along with several other truthers for a History Channel special on 9/11 conspiracy theories – toward the end of the special, he compared himself to Galileo, saying, "I’m saying the world is round, I’m saying that 9/11 is an inside job, I’m showing the official story is a fraud, a flat Earth theory, and I know I’m going to be vindicated."  Later, outside the Denver Mint (near the 2008 Democratic Convention was taking place), Jones went on a screaming rant during which he chased Michelle Malkin around the crowd, calling her "evil" and "a monster".  In an interview after that incident he claimed that he was set up, that his voice was normal, he was being polite and just asking a question – but that Malkin’s "people" created the video as disinformation.

In short, Alex Jones is a couple of french fries short of a Happy Meal.

I can’t stand the guy.  He’s an embarrassment to the conservative cause.  Completely aside from fudging the fact that 1776 actually wasn’t the start of the American Revolution (it had been cooking for years prior to the outbreak of the actual war, with the Tea Party occurring in 1773 – yes, I really am that cheeky), Jones did exactly what Piers invited him on the show to do: have a complete meltdown.

Jones fudges a few points in his long-winded growling and howling session.  He states that out of 11,000 supposed gun deaths in America in 2012 (a figure that can’t be backed up since statistics won’t be available until next year), 74% were gang-related – that is false, and he never says where he gets his ridiculous statistics.  The most recent statistics available from the FBI show that in 2011, 12,664 homicides occurred.  Of that number, right around 68% were committed with firearms – 8,583 exactly.  About 53% of all homicides occurred during the commission of another crime (burglary, robbery, auto theft, rape, etc.).  According to the statistics, only about 673 homicides in 2011 were inter-gang in nature – that’s about .5% of all homicides.  Oops.

Rather than calmly countering Piers’ questions about gun murders in the US as opposed to the UK (something that’s easy to do if you simply compare violent crime rates as a whole), Jones just calls him "a Hatchet Man of the New World Order" and then tells him to set up a boxing ring.  Jones is a one-man wrecking crew; Piers knew what he was doing when he invited him, and Jones played right into it.  He beautifully made the Limey’s point that those of us who support the Second Amendment are all drooling mouth-breathers who don’t know how to have an intelligent conversation.

He is the pathetic caricature that President Obama paints all conservatives as.  Sadly, the media is only to happy to give him airtime because of it.

Not quite two years ago, however, Ted Nugent went on Piers Morgan’s show and very articulately took him out to the woodshed on gun control.  It’s so beautiful it almost brought a tear to my eye.  You aren’t going to see Nuge or John Lott on Piers right now…he’s too busy building the aforementioned narrative.

    lOl about the Happy Meal!!

Hooray for Ted, Two thumbs down for Alex Jones ~  a nutcase off his meds. Best description of his meltdown I’ve read:

"He spews tenuously-linked tidbits of stories, strung together like a flow of lava from an erupting volcano, and it makes Jones seem unbound and disorganized like a library shelf full of books suddenly deprived of their bindings, but that is also the nature of many of his conspiracy theories." Mark America. :) !!

Anyone who goes into enemy territory to defend the 2nd Amendment should be applauded.

While Jones’ style or other views might not be consistent with those of others, it’s sad to see folks here rip on him when frankly, Sarah Palin was nowhere to be found on the issue.

Piers Morgan surely would have hosted Sarah if she was willing to step up to the plate.  She wasn’t.  Alex Jones accepted the challenge.  And for that – his willingness to defend the 2nd Amendment as best he could – he gets torn apart here? At least Alex Jones stepped up and gave it his best shot.

Can anyone explain Sarah Palin’s complete absence on the issue?

      • The Ranger

Sorry…I disagree.  Governor Palin has, many times in the past, spoken up about our Second Amendment rights.  I’m sure she has her reasons for not being more public on this issue right now.  As for Jones, having a lunatic ranting and raving does us no good.  If that’s what we’re willing to accept then we’re no better than the far left.

        • Huina

Because she is thinking about running in 2016 so we need to cut her some slacks. When she is elected as the President of US, then she will protect us from thugs FBI to take our guns away. She will allows ever man, woman and child to own as much as assault weapons that  we want, but not now. She needs to win first.

  • lorenzini

    Amen…Jones is a nut.

  • fb274

Jones was no bother to me—don’t watch CNN or Piers.

    • bucky321

but he sure took it to piers

  • Dan C

    Well said.

  • Gary

Alex is also convinced the Bilderburgers dine on infants.  Yet he is a source of information, if you are careful, about the growth of goverment threats against our citizens.   He interviews some sharp people but he does most of the talking and all of the ranting.

  • ZH100

    Excellent read . Thank you.

  • cbenoistd

Couldn’t you call him Morgan instead?

    • The Ranger

I do have a reason for calling him Piers…it’s not nice, though, so I don’t post that reason here.  ;-)

      • lanahi

Piers said he would leave the US if gun control is not passed.  Hope we can give him a farewell toast.

He did expose the Bohemian Grove and confronted David Gergen.

    • mark1955

Also, as someone who thinks even though Alex might be paranoid, doesn’t mean they are not out to get him, This is from Doug Hagmann of ‘Canada Free Press’ who has a contact called "DHS Insider" : This would go a long way to explaining Alex’s seeming paranoi and performance the other night. This is what he was going through from the time he left the airport in texas, where TSA and police harrased him on his way to New York to the Piers Morgan interview and while he was in New York City. I am not throwing Alex under the bus,or getting thrown off the beaten path by letting the issue become about his demeanor instead of the more important Abolishing of our God Given Second Ammendment Rights so we can be enslaved and then Murdered.

Also it seems more than a little suspicious to me that people seem more than eager to jump on the Alex "Is Crazy" meme, than focusing on Firearms Bans.

By the way,he’s 100% Right about the "New World Order", Bildedrberg, Bohemian Grove and Michelle Malkin.

    • Steve_Flesher

But he was disingenuous in the way he "exposed" Bohemian Grove.  He’d take one news source and say that awful things were happening there.  Then he’d take another news story which said Bush attended when in fact Bush did attend but part of an innocent frat boy ritual in his college days and not with male prostitutes or animal sacrifices as others tend to believe.

  • ssenecal5000

Yeah, Alex Jones is a nut job , but he might be  right about Michelle
Her "Hotair" site, now sold, has long been pushing atheism and homosexuality with the nameless faceless "Allahpundit"
Now her "Twitchy" site is doing the same thing under  "Twitchy Staff"

As for Jone, he has the same 911 truther positions as Rosanne Barr,, Joy from the View , Rosy O"Donnell and Van Jones. . I find it funny now that CNN is using 911 trutherism to discredit someone

    • bucky321

still have to like him for trying to get rid of piers.

    • The Ranger

I have never, not once, seen Michelle Malkin, Allahpundit or anyone else associated with either of them push homosexuality.  They may defend the rights of gay Americans the same way they defend the rights of any other American, but they have ardently opposed the gay left – as I do.

  • 01_Explorer_01

    Your typical Ron Paul supporter.

  • c4pfan

I don’t even know who this guy was until this site went over the bend over him and mentioning him every two seconds!

Why not post about the Marine who spoke to Piers Morgan?

  • blueniner

Speaking of Ted Nugent, where has he been with all this gun contol BS, this right up Teds alley, you would think he would be all over talking about it, unless he is on tour.

    • mark1955

Ted Nugent’s a phony! Remember how he jumped on Michelle Bachmann’s bandwagon and even composed a song to her. Then when asked during a CNN appearance about Governor Palin ( This was pre-October 5,2011 ) Hemmed and Hawed and was beyond non-committal. Also he was endorsing MITTEN’S well before the primaries were over.

Alex Jones didn’t help his cause by going nuts on the Piers Morgan program. I am certain that Jones is wrong about 9/ll. He also could not back up his claim that Barack Obama was recorded in the company of hardcore Communists, plotting the overthrow of the U.S. Government.

Still, I wouldn’t dismiss Jones when it comes to Monsanto. And I would pay attention to what he says about the NDAA, an issue too hot for even Fox News.

  • indemind

The LSM, to anyone who will listen- "Remember Sarah is NOT important ;-)   And we must discuss in GREAT detail how nimportant she is…

  • paul

This piece is exactly what Gov.Palin and "Bullies" is talking about. One would think that Media Matters wrote this piece.

    • The Ranger

If you think a MM shill wrote this, then by all means, prove it.  Jones went off the deep end and made a fool out of himself.  We need calm, intelligent, rational people willing to make a reasoned argument because Jones is EXACTLY what the left wants to paint us all as being.  If Alex Jones is what you call "reasonable", then you deserve to be lumped in with him.

  • CapitalG

Agree Jones is not an ideal spokesperson and I don’t consider him a to be a conservative at all.

He did make some very good points about the prescription drugs (Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors) and called Piers Morgan out for his failure to address that part of the issue because Big Pharma is a big advertiser for CNN. If Bushmaster, Stag Arms and Noveske Rifleworks were their big sponsors I doubt we would be hearing a thing about needing new gun laws on CNN.

…of course then he went into 9/11 conspiracy theory and pretty much proved he is a conspiracy nutter.

Personally I enjoy entertaining some of these theories as an intellectual exercise – but Jones takes them and runs with them as absolute fact even if there is little to no evidence.

  • Huina

Let’s focus like a lazerbeam on making  Sarah run in 2016 and don’t let people like Jones distracts us from the big picture, Sarah 2016!
