BREAKING: Governor Palin to Speak at CPAC 2013

The American Conservative Union (ACU) has announced today that Governor Palin will speak at this year’s CPAC conference:

WASHINGTON, D.C.– The American Conservative Union (ACU) today announced former Vice Presidential Candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will address CPAC 2013 – the 40th annual Conservative Political Action Conference. America’s largest gathering of conservative leaders and activists will be held Thursday, March 14 – Saturday, March 16, 2013.“We are pleased to again welcome Governor Sarah Palin to CPAC in March,” said ACU Chairman Al Cardenas. “Governor Palin electrified the crowd in 2012 and we are thrilled to welcome her back this year.”

Sarah Palin was the 2008 Vice Presidential Nominee and is the former Governor of Alaska. Governor Palin first made history on Dec. 4, 2006 when sworn in as the 11th and first female governor of Alaska.  In August 2008, Senator John McCain selected Governor Palin to join him as his running mate in his historic presidential campaign.  Governor Palin is the first woman to run on the Republican Party’s presidential ticket.

Since her vice presidential run and governorship, Sarah Palin has remained one of the leading conservative voices in the nation and has authored one of the most successful non-fiction books of all time, Going Rogue, An American Life.  She has consistently focused attention on dozens of national races that have changed the face of Congress and continues the fight to bring commonsense conservatives to public office.

CPAC will be held March 14-16, 2013 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, offering three days of blockbuster speeches, policy discussions and networking opportunities – all celebrating the shared principles of smaller government, a strong national defense and traditional American values. Excellent news. She’s a bigger draw than Rubio, Ryan or anyone else. Wish I could attend.

  • Founders1791

    Waaaaaaay Cool!

Wasn’t Sarah the "9th" Governor, not the 11th?

  • lanahi

Awesome! And Rove was bounced this year from CPAC! Cruz will also speak. Maybe CPAC will be actually conservative this year!

    • Ceejay

Sarah without FOX……….. let’s roll…. tweets during the SOTU, I am afraid we have not seen anything yet. Cruz and Palin with the 2nd Amendment….pass the popcorn!

  • Mary Beth House

I’m thrilled. This is sure to be a barnburner of a speech.

    • Emily Baxter

I’m going to meet her for the first time! So excited! :D

  • Steve_Flesher

I hope she socks it to them real good!

  • Mr.L

Will be looking forward to seeing her rock that place again.

    • EmeraldReporter

Oh my goshers Mr. L! I’m a big fan of yours on YouTube! You need to post more often, you know that?

  • Thorn McDaniel

Great! One more confirmation that John McCain’s prediction of the extinction of the Republican Party is happening. Can’t wait to hear the national media’s coverage of the last belch of smoke and ash from the GOP.

    • palin45potus

      Just a wild ass guess…

You love McCain when he’s knifing the GOP in the back, right?

      • socon

No fan of McCain–but at least he never knifed Sarah in the back like the gutless GOP.

  • misterlogic0013

hopefully I will get to go and meet many Sarah supporters .. always a good time .. book early .. 2014 here we come ..

  • RightMom

Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Sarah Palin…hehehe! All hated by the Republican establishment. Gotta love it!

    • Ceejay

Wonder if some RINOS will suddenly have scheduling conflicts?? Sarah will take all the oxygen out the room …..and no one can come close to that!

      • fb274

Talking about RINOs, McConnell will be there and it is ‘his campaign lawyer’ who is working with Rove with his new PAC that plans to vet the primary competitors. And, I am wondering if it was McConnell who told Cruz he was tired of hearing about Sarah Palin or was it another Senator? Cruz does give credit where credit is due and he states it was after Gov. Palin’s endorsement his campaign exploded positively.

  • palin45potus

Heck, maybe they oughta move the Sarah Palin event to the Redskin’s Stadium.

    • Glenn Selan

      They might need too!

  • happymullah

Her speaking at CPAC will bring more media coverage. This is a constant like the law of gravity.

And it says loudly that as far as Sarah Palin is concerned there’s no such a thing as "a 15-minute fame." She will always be there like the North Star.

    • alien4palin

Agree!!! She is the "Conscience of a Nation" As such she is here to stay. Whether she is physically present in public or silence in retreat & reload mode,
her enemies are afflicted with letting her live rent free inside their heads 24/7/365.
The only way they can rid of their affliction is to face up to the Truth.

    • excopconservative

Hmmm… dropping Karl Rove, offering Prez Day discounts, signing up Ted Cruz as closing speaker on 2-14, then Sarah Palin on 2-18. Can anyone conclude that attendance was going to be WAY down this year?

      • BostonBruin

I suspect this is a big part of why they asked her to attend. Low attendance = minimal media coverage. That has all changed now.

        • RICHARDAS

Last Year 20.000 showed up –they had to close the hotel and lock it down and we where not allowed to leave the hall no matter how much we needed tooooooo !!!!
will go this year now– only an hour on the train from Philadelphia.

          • Reynolds88

Good luck buddy! If I wasn’t job hunting (unemployed) I would consider the same!

          • c4pfan

            That’s great Richardas!

  • BostonBruin

What’s interesting is that the conference is very close to D.C. An appearance or two on one of the Sunday shows based in D.C. is a distinct possibility. Her phone must be ringing off the hook asking for interviews that weekend.

Honestly, I thought CPAC had already come and gone, with lard-ass Rove throwing his weight – and a lot of it – around. Most thought it would be just another RINO fest. Now, I actually have a reason to even care about CPAC.

So much for Sarah being "obsolete". I wonder what the state-run media will say about this.

    • Ed from justice

      Hey Tom;
I really did think that Field and Stream was out of business too. And I am an avid fisherman, including ice fishing. Seriously. I didn’t know they were still around until they ripped on Sarah. These people are missreading the country, but their ploy worked. They don’t care if you love or hate them, they just want you to read about them. Not the same with CPAC. They need the people and they must fill the seats or they will look weak and stupid. Now the place will be buzzing.

      • socon

I bet they lost a lot of readers as a result of their lies. I think their ploy backfired big time.

  • MarkRNY

She just keeps getting…"irreleventer" and irreleventer.

Nice of Aljezeera to allow her to do this! What do you think Suzie P? Ask your editor (I swear, I hope Sarah cracks a joke about this–no mercy! Ask Mr Heath!).

  • PhilTan

This is , IMHO, a huge deal that she will be speaking at CPAC. Huffington Post has a big story up about it , four down from the top. She’s got them all wee-wee’d up.

  • FrankinOhio

Sarah, you just made my day!!!!

  • Ed from justice

I left a copy of an email I sent to CPAC this morning. I wasn’t aware at the time that Karl Rove (the conservative champion who is looking for the right people who can be elected… maybe Mitt Romney or someone like that ) had been dropped, but what conservative in his right mind would believe that this guy has their best interest in mind? I guess they tried to replace him with Barbara Bush who famously said she hopes Sarah would stay in Alaska… when Barbara couldn’t come they decided on plan C call Sarah… Sarah come out with something that will shake this country up please. We need help and we need it now. You know what to do so why am I giving you advice. Set the course and we will sail it with you. We can have great times in America again.

    • Escaped_Teleprompter

Quote: "… when Barbara couldn’t come they decided on plan C call Sarah…"
Gov. Palin is not someone who is a stand-in replacement for another preferred speaker. Palin receives scores of invitations, and a very lucky few of those invitations are accepted by Palin. In the case of CPAC, Palin received invitations every year, but only agreed to speak last year and this year. She must have just accepted a standing invitation to speak at CPAC, and this makes headlines.

      • Ed Sloan

Escaped_teleprompter… I was pretty sure that I composed my post in a way that even an Obama voter would be able to tell that I was being scarastic. If not then I apologize. I was just making fun of the CPAC folks who fnally came to the party…. when they realized that if they wanted to have any sort of success, they would need to get the only real leader of the conservative movement in america on the agenda. I would not be a bit surprised if they decide to give her the keynote spot. Cya buddy

        • Escaped_Teleprompter

I just wanted to make sure that miscellaneous Palin detractors who come to this site do not seize on this bit of misinformation to start another anti-Palin rumour.

          • socon

Sarc tag / is our friend.

  • Glenn Selan

She has a 75% success rate with candidates that she has suported!
