    ‘Who Is the Real Sarah Palin?’

    Executive Authority and Success

    Palin was the first female and youngest governor to be elected in Alaska, which is tied for the second most powerful governorship in the United States, according to Thad Beyle, a political scientist at the University of North Carolina.

    Budgeting and Spending

    Palin cut state spending between 2007 and 2010 by 9.5% while also reducing federal earmark requests by more than 80% during her tenure. She used her line-item veto to cut more than a quarter billion in superfluous spending in both 2007 and 2008. In 2009, she instituted a temporary hiring freeze, while at the same time reducing spending by more than 33% between FY2009 and FY2010.

    In stark contrast to President Obama and other governors whose fiscal records are dogged by credit downgrades, Palin left Alaska with an improved credit rating during and following her tenure as governor. Standard & Poor’s raised Alaska’s credit rating from AA to AA+ in April 2008. Then in 2010, both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s upgraded Alaska to AAA for the first time in the state’s history due to policies enacted by Palin that made the state’s finances more than solvent.


    Under Palin’s leadership, Alaska was 2nd in job growth, and 3rd in the change in its unemployment rate, compared to the other states. Alaska also saw a record number of oil jobs in both 2008 and 2009, while natural resource and logging jobs increased 13.7% during Palin’s tenure.

    In fact, Palin’s record on jobs compared to the country as a whole was stronger than the President’s and other prominent governors’ during their respective tenures

    Business Growth

    Alaska was an opportunity society under Palin. Alaska moved up from the 4th most business tax-friendly state to the 3rd most business tax-friendly state during her tenure.

    Palin was a firm believer in tax cuts. In addition to lowering unemployment insurance tax rates, she cut business license fees in half, suspended the state motor fuel tax, and signed legislation, allowing Alaska-based businesses the same opportunities as out-of-state businesses. All of this was consistent with her record as Mayor of Wasilla, where she eliminated small business inventory taxes and cut property tax mill levies every year she was in office.


    Energy issubeteutiful photoses are Palin’s forte, and her record proves it. In 2007, Governor Palin signed ACES—Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share—a net tax on oil profits that was passed in a bipartisan and transparent manner. ACES replaced the corruption-tainted oil tax plan of the previous administration, which was passed in secret and ultimately lead to the federal indictment of several Alaskan state officials and oil company personnel. Furthermore, ACES provided oil companies with incentives to develop. The progressivity of the tax meant producers were protected when oil prices were low, but the interest of the resource owners—the people of Alaska—were appropriately protected as well to achieve a fair return for their resource.

    Most importantly, ACES led to jobs, increased development, and a huge surplus for Alaska.

    Perhaps Palin’s biggest energy achievement was spearheading the creation of the Alaska natural gas pipeline. After five decades of unsuccessful attempts by Alaskan administrations to bring a gas pipeline project into existence, Palin and her team introduced the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) in March 2007. AGIA passed the Legislature by a vote of 57-1 in May of that year.

    Unlike the behind-closed-doors cronyism of past administrations, Palin’s AGIA legislation was conducted out in the open and made use of a genuine free-market competitive bidding process. Palin’s AGIA placed not only Alaska, but also the nation, further on the path toward energy independence.

    Palin played hardball with the big oil companies in her state. According to the Alaska state constitution, Alaskans are the resource owners in their state; and it was Palin’s duty as their CEO to get the best deal for Alaskans while at the same time partnering with these oil companies for the mutual benefit of all.

    Ethics Reform and Transparency

    Ethics reform was the hallmark of Palin’s governorship. She was swept into office on a reform message in a state with a serious corruption problem. Alaska at the time was undergoing a federal investigation that culminated in the indictment of various corrupt lawmakers. Palin had made a name for herself as an ethics crusader when she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservative Commission and blew the whistle on fellow commissioner and state GOP head Randy Ruedrich for doing party business on state time. This resulted in Ruedrich receiving a $12,000 fine—the largest civil fine for ethics in the state’s history. Alaskans respected the fact that Palin was not afraid of taking on the establishment of her own party.

    As governor, Palin fought for and signed sweeping bipartisan ethics legislation, which restricted lobbyists, improved disclosure laws, and improved executive and legislative branch ethics laws. In the face of corruption, she continued to take on her own party when it was necessary. She also increased transparency by releasing her oil tax bill to her constituents 17 days prior to the special legislative session, opening up natural gas pipeline deals to all potential parties, putting the state checkbook online, and not allowing lobbyists in her office.


    Palin forward funded education to allow districts greater flexibility, supported increased vocational training and early education funding, opened up opportunity to Alaskan students to participate in regional medical schools, and increased overall funding for special needs education by 175% (before she herself became the mother of son with special needs). Believing that the best reform was close to home, Palin wisely also chose to monitor rather than participate in national standards for education.

    Health Care

    Palin introduced health care transparency legislation that established an Alaska health care information office to give consumers factual information on quality and cost to help them make better-informed health care decisions. Recognizing that health care must be market-and business driven, rather than restricted by government, Palin proposed repeal of Certificate of Need—a layer of bureaucracy that prevents medical facility development. She established the Alaska Health Strategies Planning Council, reduced Medicaid assessments by 83%, and expanded Alaska’s SeniorCare benefits program for low-income seniors.

      Can the Landmark Legal Foundation at least lay out a case for impeachment?  Is going to bed during an attack on American territory when your authority is required for action a dereliction of duty?

      The process for Presidential impeachment is based in a small set of clauses in the United States Constitution:

      Article 1, Section 2, Clause 5:

      The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.

      Article 1, Section 3, Clauses 6-7:

      The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

      Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office,and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

      Article 2, Section 4:

      The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

        how is Obama NOT a coward? No action was taken to protect his narrative that we’ve got "al queda on the run". He also allowed babies born alive during abortions to die,so as not to antagonize feminists. Why is this naked hunger/greed for power not evil? The questions surrounding Benghazi will never go away.The voters in 2016 will not go as easy on her as did congress.

          I can’t begin to convey the contempt I have for a CINC who walks out while his people are under lethal attack. There is no excuse. Only the CINC can order US military forces to cross an international border to launch a military operation. That is why neither the military nor the CIA did so. They simply do not have that authority. Their hands were tied. 

          I am very disappointed that was not discussed at the hearings. Neither the Sec’y of Defense nor the Chair of the Joint Chiefs had the guts to inform the Congressmen that they could not order an invasion of Libya without the direct order of the CINC. Imagine if they had given that order and there had been some kind of international incident. That would have been legitimate grounds for the immediate removal of either man, or anyone else who over-stepped that clear line of authority, which places the military under direct civilian control, specifically under the civilian CINC. You simply cannot have anyone other than the CINC ordering an act of war against another sovereign nation.

          Remember how Obi Wanna and his administration bragged, over and over, about his order to kill bin Laden? That was because only he could have issued that order, and no one else. Same same for a cross border attack into Benghazi. Only he could have ordered it.

          Those two witnesses should have come clean, but they wimped out to protect the wimpus who did not do his job. All he had to do was give the word, and it would have been done, no matter what anyone else thought about doing it. Reagan would have needed about 10 seconds to make up his mind before giving the order. All his advisors told him not to use the "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" line in his famous speech, but we all know that he ignored all of their advice and did it, anyway.

          No way anyone could have told Reagan to abandon so many Americans under fire. Obama’s non-action on that night was an utter disgrace. No two ways about it.

    What’s going on today?  Second Amendment rallies in some states – check in your particular state. NY’s is on the 12th, but many are doing it today. Same drill as last month. Go to your state capital if you can. If can’t, write, call, fax, post – keep the pressure on. Palin-wise, Duane Lester, Liberty News Network defended her yesterday in the Tuscon blood libel thing.

    Today, we wrap up the topic of "Rings" as presented by C.S. Lewis in the portion of "The Weight of Glory" entitled "Thee Inner Ring":

    "The quest for the Inner Ring will break your hearts unless you break it. But if you break it, a surprising result will follow. If in your working hours you make the work your end, you will presently find yourself all unawares inside the only circle in your profession that really matters. You will be one of the sound craftsmen, and other sound craftsmen will know it.This group of craftsmen will by no means coincide with the Inner Ring or the Important People or the People in the Know. It will not shape that professional policy or work up that professional influence which fights for the profession as a whole against the public, nor will it lead to those periodic scandals and crises which the Inner Ring produces.     We can sum this advice up as "Just try to do the right thing for the right reason and other like-minded people will gravitate to you in true respect and friendship". The description provided by Mr. Lewis defines all the good people who go about their day quietly doing their job the best they can looking to give of themselves to others rather than taking from others for themselves. They are the quiet unrecognized heroes that actually make the world go round while the scoundrels pat themselves on the back and take the credit. They are the ones who when called upon in a crisis, step up and answer the call and then suggest that it was no big deal, just all in a day’s work, or lucky and glad to be of help. And it is no mistake that a very large percentage of these people call Jesus their Lord and Saviour and for them, their ultimate reward will be to hear their Lord and Saviour say to them, "Well done. Come. Enter into my rest".   

    Of course the world looks at those people and think they just don’t get it, and asks "what good does it do them?" or "Don’t they understand how the world works?" "Don’t they see that it is dog-eat-dog out there?" 

    But the truth is that is they that do not understand. It is they who cannot see beyond the end of their noses. It is they who listen to the tempting lies of the Devil promising more of what doesn’t matter because "everyone" does. And the path that "everyone" takes leads to misery and destruction sooner or later. In doing so, they disqualify themselves from Heaven and will not enter into the Lord’s rest.

    Nothing could be further from the truth in that the biggest terrorists, moreover, the biggest threat to the Republic since the Revolution that America is facing right now are the terrorists from within masquerading as Americans who are willfully turning America into a godless slave state unrecognizable to the founding fathers under the unconstitutional dictates of a despot and his minions who now claim that they have authority to kill any American that they deem a threat, and make no mistake about this, not to the America of the founding fathers that they despise, but rather to an Amerika under their dictatorial control!

    In the course of destroying a free America Obama has made us naked to our enemies. I do not believe that people fully comprehend the level that our national security has been compromised by a traitor who is getting away with unilaterally disarming our country both materially and morally to especially include our military which has been corrupted like everything else Obama’s tentacles can reach to. I can tell you this, unequivocally, those like me who have served in positions of security with the highest clearances possible in time of war fully understand the danger, and are very worried because when it happens, when we’re attacked, it will come quickly when we least expect it, and Obama’s puppet masters, the world controller types, will relish the thought of our enemies, Obama’s friends, being the tool of our destruction.

    The reality, however, is that we, by allowing ourselves to be corrupted by the evil in the world, by embracing that evil as law to the extreme of seeing nothing wrong with killing our innocents, with perverting our institutions with the promotion of any and all kinds of aberrant behavior that is anathema to the laws of nature and nature’s God of The Preamble to our Declaration of Independence, have invited our own destruction just as the Hebrews did via the Assyrian and later the Babylonian captivities. In short, we, by tolerating this evil instead of summarily exorcizing its diabolic influence from the body politic and every branch of our society at every level, local, state, and federal, have been the tool for our own destruction. Our only hope is to turn to Almighty God for deliverance from this diabolic evil that has our country by the jugular as our founders did in the conclusion of The Declaration of Independence!

      This is what the Bush mafia is doing. I am not agreeing with them. They are trying to lasso the TEA Party. As long as you know their game plan you know where and how they will attack.

      How I know that Marco is full of Bullschmidt is anybody who tries to tell you that they were inspired by Reagan would never in their right mind offer to help on the Dole campaign. Nobody on the right screwed Reagan once he was POTUS more than Bob Dole. Which means Marco doesn’t know Schmidt about the Great Communicator!

      I despised the SOB so much it was the first time in my life I refused to vote.

      The emergence of Rubio as the "saviour of the Party" is a good thing as it places him in direct conflict with Jeb’s Presidential aspirations. When the time comes, the two of them can split the RINO vote within the Party and all the conservatives will be crying out for a strong, solid conservative and will unite behind Sarah as the only one with the charisma/star power to carry the day against those two.

    Now the entire media machine is in tune with each other, and they can go about the business of having the GOP nominate a RINO who echoes the Democrat’s Party Line…to the approval of the media.

    It’s almost as if "That Woman" was nothing but a Bad Dream to those in DC.
