Anyone who has not been living in a cave — or Washington — knows that amnesty and so-called immigration reform is extremely unpopular in America. A new Reuters poll found that most Americans say that illegal aliens should be deported.
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/21/us-usa-immigration-idUSBRE91K01A20130221

With unemployment remaining persistently high, Washington’s priority should be unemployed and under-employed Americans instead of illegal aliens competing for scarce jobs. Republicans had a golden opportunity to gain supporters by siding with workers anxious about their job prospects, and those of their children. Instead certain RINO Republicans, such as Rooobio, eagerly advance Obama’s agenda of creating more Democrat voters through amnesty.
    .

    • Cat Got Your Tongue?

I think that the people who have employed illegals should pay for the deportations.

Hopefully Sarah will mention this in her CPAC speech, but she only has 15 minutes, so I’m sure she will use the time wisely.

I mean, Why did you shoot wlves from a helicopter? Mumbling about, making to sense whatsoever. Unfortunately, an acquaintance pointed this out to me early this morning.

Hello! Is there anyone that can give a summary about the little 3 year old girl and the TSA? For some reason, I am getting a warning about the Briedtbart page being a ‘trojan’? I don’t believe it though.

Lucy, who suffers from Spina bifida and
is confined to a wheelchair was on her way to Disney World when she was
stopped after going through security at her home airport. She, along
with her parents and siblings made it through the security checkpoint
without a problem until the TSA stopped them on their way to their gate.
TSA promptly took away Lucy’s favorite toy which led her to weep
uncontrollably. TSA demanded that her parents stop recording. Lucy’s
father, a lawyer, told them that he was legally allowed to record them
and her mother said repeatedly "you’re not touching my daughter" without
      a camera documenting their actions.

This is all that was posted and there is a video.

      • c4pfan

Thank you for posting! That was so stupid on the TSA’s part.

We live in nice country subdivision with acre lots (because the sewer system doesn’t run out this far). There’s been an empty lot next door for years; the boys on the other side of the lot incessantly run dirtbikes there. It sold last week, and this morning there were a bunch of trucks when I left for the gym. As I was leaving the gym, my son called and said you might want to come home right away but it’s a good thing.

When I got back, an event tent with a speaker podium was set up right across from the basketball net with small American flags in the ground surrounding the lot. The lot was purchased to build a house for a wounded warrior — a Marine who lost both legs and I believe his eyesight — and his family. Rand Paul and his wife are coming to dedicate the project. How cool! Son’s excited; the carpenter working on our porch is excited — so am I!

      • golfmom3

Just got back in the door. Ceremony and speeches are over — cute kids, sweet family and they have a black pug. It’s not that big of a town — and they were all over in the lot next door! We know the builder, and he builds really high-end homes so I’m sure it will be beautiful and accessible. Met Rand’s wife — she’s the state chair for the organization — she was with Matt’s wife and introducing her around. What a fun morning!

What a great story Golfman. Be sure and tell the marine and his family that everybody at conservatives4palin is so proud of his service and sacrifice. Our prayers will be with him and his family.

    • Laddie_Blah_Blah

      Wow! That’s great.

  • golfmom3

Our new neighbor will be Corporal Matthew Bradford, his wife and 3 children. He joined the Marines straight out of high school in September 2005 and deployed to Haditha Iraq September 2006. He was injured January 18, 2007 stepping on an IED. Shrapnel blinded him, his left leg was immediately blown off and his right was amputated later at the hospital; he has limited use of his right hand due to breaking the bones in the blast. He reenlisted in the Marine Corps April 2010 as the first blind double amputee working at the Wounded Warrior Battalion East at Camp Lejeune and met his now wife there in June 2010. He is working on a degree in communications.

This is a project for HelpingaHero.org and it looks like they will do the same for 32 other Warriors and their families across the country. Helping a Hero is nationally co-chaired by Gov. Pataki and Lt. Gov Dewhurst.

The IronDog resumes today in Nome. Work time was completed yesterday and the times and positions have been updated. Of the 5 top teams, Davis/Palin had the least wrench time (3 min. 14 sec.) and remain in 4th place 29 min. behind the leaders and 14 min. out of 3rd place.

The 1,000 miles to Fairbanks is mostly along river and sea ice so it’s a sprint to the finish. Our guys have good equipment with 4 of the top 5 on Ski-Doo sleds. Time for them to open up! Good luck to all the racers.

Why Mitt Romney is speaking at CPAC 2013: 5 theories

    http://theweek.com/article/index/240396/why-mitt-romney-is-speaking-at-cpac-2013-5-theories

The GOP’s 2012 standard-bearer is making his return to public life at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Conservatives are as confused as everyone else

Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, is one of the featured speakers at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference, to be held in mid-March at a resort just outside of Washington. Romney, who has largely kept out of the spotlight since losing his White House bid in November, will make his return to public life alongside conservative stalwarts like Jeb Bush, Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), former Sen. Jim DeMint, and Sarah Palin, plus rising stars like Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wis.), Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). CPAC is probably the most high-profile conservative gathering of the year, a testing ground for conservative messaging and Republican presidential hopefuls, and conservatives are as confused as everyone else why the American Conservative Union (ACU) invited Romney to speak, and why Romney accepted.

(Click the link for the rest- But here are the 5 reasons. You’ll need to open the link to read the boring details)

    1. Romney’s bored

    2. He’s jumping back into politics

    3. CPAC likes him

    4. Nostalgia

    5. Romney’s the perfect spokesman for today’s "split personality" GOP

S.E. Cupp and the Freezing of the Conservative Mind

    By JEFFREY LORD

    http://spectator.org/archives/2013/02/21/se-cupp-and-the-freezing-of-th

Columnist disses Rush while misreading Reagan and Lee Atwater.

One reads S.E. Cupp on Rush Limbaugh and the late Lee Atwater and has to wonder.

One reads her compatriot young conservative friends in the New York Times and has to wonder.

Do these conservatives even listen to themselves?

Are they really conservatives — or just the latest, newest incarnation of that age old 20th century invention: the GOP moderate? The newest sparkling edition of a wannabe Ruling Class? Making the rounds of the bar scene in Manhattan and New York and longing to be hip?

(Click the link for the rest. Lengthy but excellent, as most of Jeffrey Lord’s work is)

    • Guest

"The very essence of the Reagan movement politically within the
GOP was a keen sense of guerrilla warfare. An utter unwillingness
to sit still and be quiet, a complete willingness to challenge the
      status quo.

Understand the political fault lines within the Republican Party and find the candidates like Ted Cruz who are more than willing to exploit them, Atwater-style. Reagan-style.

The moment one shrinks from this is exactly the moment you are on the road to becoming, to pick names not at random, Mitt Romney. Or Stuart Stevens. Or Karl Rove. The Establishment in waiting. You will be waiting 20 years or more to ascend to leadership.

Can the Republicans be saved from obsolescence?

      Of course.

If they pay attention to Ronald Reagan and Lee Atwater.

Not the myths. Not the legends.

The real, flesh and blood president and party chairman.

In the words of the old Chinese strategist that Lee loved to quote, Reagan and Atwater understood that:

The Way means inducing the people to have the same aim as the leadership, so that they will share death and share life, without fear of danger."

      Amen.

Oh yeah, that’s got our names all over it. I stand with Sarah Palin.

      • palin45potus

I love the descriptions of the two types of Republicans from back in the seventies. The Country Clubbers all dressed to the nines, and the Reaganites not so much. The look of horror on the faces of the Country-Clubbers as they had to rub elbows with "Those people"

Personally the moment that Reagan made it with me was that impromptu speech he gave in Kansas City at the 1976 RNC.

Up until then, I "Knew" from the Time Magazine’s we read in school to the Network News, etc that Ronald Reagan was a complete dunce and imbecile who couldn’t dress himself, but also an evil maniac with an insane plan to finish off mankind.

After that, I was a Ronald Reagan supporter come what may.

        • Guest

That was a funny line, the GOPe in their lush blue pin stripe suits and the ladies in Saks 5th avenue by the riff raff in cowboy hats and women in their J.C. Penny dresses were embarassed by the regular folks, which would be the Tea Party types today.

    • Leroy Whitby

There are a lot of opportunists. Sadly, if you want something done you’ve got to do it yourself. Ignore the party, ignore the pundits and get moving. Please! Cause we need each other.

    • blueniner

An excellent piece, Lord nailed it. If you havent already 45, see the movie
"The Boogie Man" it is about Lee Atwater, a documentary on the way it was it starts with Gerald Ford to Reagan to Bush 41 and Atwaters death, alot of clips alot of Reagan. You will see alot of familer faces of politics, even a young Karl Rove. If you havent seen it Netflix has it, check it out.
