Video: Dr. Carson and Pres. Obama at National Prayer Breakfast; UPDATE: Hannity Interview Video

If you’ve been online or watched television yesterday or today, surely you’ve heard about Dr. Ben Carson, the neurosurgeon who spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast. Perhaps you’ve already seen the video, but just in case you haven’t, I’m posting it here. This man’s speech was brilliant. He never called out President Obama by name, but doing so was not necessary.

Dr. Carson stated at the opening that he had no desire to offend anyone, but that he was opposed to political correctness. His words, both honest and blunt, were delivered with great grace–not an easy combination, but he managed it well. President Obama looked increasingly uneasy as the doctor’s speech progressed, and I cringed a few times, knowing the President had to be wishing he were somewhere else–anywhere other than seated near this man who was bold enough to take him on, not behind his back, but in his very presence.

One thing I appreciated as I listened to Dr. Carson was the fact that he didn’t simply criticize the President’s policies; he offered intelligent solutions. President Obama would be wise to take heed.
