Video: Dr. Carson and Pres. Obama at National Prayer Breakfast; UPDATE: Hannity Interview Video

If you’ve been online or watched television yesterday or today, surely you’ve heard about Dr. Ben Carson, the neurosurgeon who spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast. Perhaps you’ve already seen the video, but just in case you haven’t, I’m posting it here. This man’s speech was brilliant. He never called out President Obama by name, but doing so was not necessary.

Dr. Carson stated at the opening that he had no desire to offend anyone, but that he was opposed to political correctness. His words, both honest and blunt, were delivered with great grace–not an easy combination, but he managed it well. President Obama looked increasingly uneasy as the doctor’s speech progressed, and I cringed a few times, knowing the President had to be wishing he were somewhere else–anywhere other than seated near this man who was bold enough to take him on, not behind his back, but in his very presence.

One thing I appreciated as I listened to Dr. Carson was the fact that he didn’t simply criticize the President’s policies; he offered intelligent solutions. President Obama would be wise to take heed.

UPDATE: Sean Hannity interviewed Dr. Carson Friday night. Inspiring story:

This man is a very effective speaker. He has such quiet authenticity and natural grace it’s like being loved just hearing him speak.

At the points where obama looks down as if he’s texting, it’s easy to imagine him sending out orders to have Dr. Carson audited by the IRS, investigated by Homeland Security and attacked by his media lapdogs.

Would that the good Doctor’s advice be heeded and acted upon. He has the right prescription for a lot of what ails America.

    Thanks, Adrienne.

This fellow is fantastic! I for one was mesmerized. It will stand as a new standard for good speechmaking. It was so good that Bob Beckel of "The five" on Foxnews found it most disrespectful, even shameful.
President Barack Obama responded Thursday at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., that “everything we’ve been talking about … at the prayer breakfast seems to be forgotten – on the same day as the prayer breakfast.”
“I do worry sometimes that as soon as we leave the prayer breakfast, everything we’ve been talking about the whole time at the prayer breakfast seems to be forgotten – on the same day as the prayer breakfast. You’d like to think that the shelf life wasn’t so short. I go back to the Oval Office, and I start watching the cable news networks, and it’s like we didn’t pray,” Obama said.
This is our President. Any speech that doesn’t idolize him and his ideology goes in one ear and out the other.

    • c4pfan

Beckel said what?!  Ugh, that pisses me the heck off!  If there is a person who shows no respect, it’s Beckel!

      • Adrienne Ross

Beckel said if Dr. Carson knows Scripture, he should know he’s supposed to honor those in authority. He accused him of "belittling" the President instead. In other words, he whined because Dr. Carson took President Obama to task.

        • CBDenver

That’s weird.  Since when does speaking one’s mind equal "belittling"?  Does disagreeing with Obama constitute "belittlig"?  I read the the Bible, too, and I seem to recall the prophets telling the leaders of Israel the truth when they were out of line.  Nothing wrong with that from where I sit.

        • alien4palin

Wow!!! Beckel said that. Any person who cannot accept the validity of a different view point nor constructive criticism is inherently a little person by nature. No person can belittle himself/herself anymore then self belittling.

The Chinese have a saying…..Respect is bestows upon you by others but shame you bestow upon yourself.

        • lyndaaquarius

How outspoken was Beckel when Pres. Bush was constantly maligned, slandered and mocked? So is beckel admitting that he himself violated Scripture?Beckel’s been around a long time, He sees how lousy  things are under Obama’s leadership. But, he can,t speak out , can he? He has to go along to get along. How Obama handled Benghazi was cruel and cowardly and Beckel knows it, too. This is not a man of strong character and integrity. America’s watching all this crap.

          • Billy Vmax

Simply put…….Beckel is a jackass, can’t get any simpler than that :-)

        • Billy Vmax

Beckel is a total phony, he is using religion to cover his short comings.

    • MaMcGriz

He goes back to the Oval office and…… watches television??

      That explains a lot.

  • CharterOakie

Absolutely masterful speech by Dr. Carson.  So much truth and wisdom expressed with grace.

    Thanks for posting it, Adrienne.

  • conservativemama

This speech is a must see.  It is nothing less than fantastic.  Also, this week the Lifetime network (I think it’s that one) has been playing a movie of his life.  What a mother he had.

Adrienne is right, Dr. Carson criticized, but he also offered solutions.  He spoke with such clarity, sincerity, authenticity.  You simply cannot teach that, you either have it, feel it, or you don’t.

Dr. Carson in a Palin administration.  I like it.  Replace Sebelius with this man.

    • c4pfan

Next week or this weekend?  Thanks!  I have to check out when that movie comes on!

    • myfairlady

The name of the movie is "the gifted hand" and I saw today that it had played last night on TNT.  I hope they play it again.  If not, I just might buy it on amazon.  To my surprise, a lot of christians that I talked to today already knew a lot about him because of the CBN station.

His speech yesterday was just what the country needed right about now.  It was a great speech!

  • c4pfan

Awesome!  :)  I truly wish Dr. Carson was the one giving the GOP address after Obama’s!

    • Adrienne Ross

      Just for you, c4pfan. :)

  • sodakhic

As Sarah would say, "Dr. Carson, you are a bold man". Common sense people are so easy to understand. And Adrienne,"you are a bold woman".

    • Adrienne Ross

      Thank you, sodakhic!

  • Adrienne Ross

Dr. Carson is on "Hannity." A commercial is on now, but he’s coming back after the commercial. Good stuff.

    • conservativemama

I missed it!  Will it get posted here?

      • conservativemama

        Just saw it at

An honest man.  How rare and wonderful.

        • alien4palin

Great interview. Thank you for posting the link.

  • Guest

Dr. Carson is a national treasure!

    Once again, thank you Adrienne.

  • blueniner

Just saw Dr. Carson right now on Hannuty, what an impressive man. He speaks plain common sense and ethical like Sarah Palin. Would like to see more of this man.

  • Marianne

Yes, indeed, President Obama would be wise to take heed. Unfortunately, no one has ever accused President Obama of being wise.

  • bedr1

Just a note, on Hannity Dr. Carson said it was a possibility to run for President. As it stands right now and from what I know about him, he would have my vote.

    • Adrienne Ross

He said he’d only run if the Lord grabbed him and made him. In other words, he’s not interested. LOL!

      • c4pfan

        I wish he were! :(

But, we can help his book become #1 on Amazon kindle!  Just 6.00!  That’s a great price for an over 250 page book!

        • David

I’m old school ( and old LOL) I just bought the hard copy..

      • MaMcGriz

Either that or he’s Governor Palin’s divinely ordained running mate! lol

Woo. What a team they’d make. I have no doubt a buncha stuff would get better in a hurry.

And many many heads would explode. ;)

      • David

Jonah was reluctant, too. I think Dr Carcon is wise enough to heed Jonah’s warning.

  • bedr1

When the socialists come after Dr. Carson its our job to protect him with everything we have.

  • c4pfan has the interview with Dr Carson up, if you missed it.

  • Jthom26837

Hear, hear. Very well said, Dr. Benjamin Carson. It appears that you and Sarah Palin ought to sit down someplace and have a nice cup of tea. The topic of d’Toucqueville is right out of Sarah Palin’s book ‘America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith And Flag.’ In addition, you brought up ‘Death Panels.’ The two words that had Obama and the Loonie Libs sqirming. I love it!!
     I Stand with Sarah Palin!!
I am willing to bet, sir that you stand with Sarah Palin as well.

  • Suki Pero

    Bold and wonderful speech.

  • Guest

That was a Great speech!  Thank you Dr. Carson…..

  • alien4palin

Adrienne, thank you so much for posting this excellent video of Dr. Carson’s speech!!!

Simply a most outstanding speech presented with humour, humility and in a manner of speaking that can be understood by most people. I am blown away!!!

Interesting look on OB’s face and I won’t try to imagine what is running through his mind but one thing I am sure he would rather be anywhere else but there.

  • dmac8889

He made it quite clear to Obama:  Yes, your program has ‘Death Panels’.   Here you have not just a highly educated man, but a man who has dedicated his life to keep learning, and caring about his fellow man.  You have Sarah who is suppose to be ‘Stupid’ and an "Anti-Intellectual", and they see the world the same:  As it is.

In Obama you have a man whose education was afforded him, regardless if he did or did not qualify by succeeding in the previous step.  By his own words (his autobiography) there was no one who concerned themselves with his success, so he skip classes in high school, Occidental College, and Columbia.  His classmates never knew him.  Now he is in the process transforming the greatest country on earth from a Capitalist/Free market society to a Government controlled Socialist society, a society that has been proven time and time again to be an utter failure.

Is it education that matters, or the thought that what concerns others is what leads to successful leadership?

  • cudaforever

Thanks Adrienne. That was priceless !!
I just sent the speech to many on my email list.

Obama is so used to lecturing others it was wonderful to see the Tables Turned !!

Hannity interviewed him that is good too:

  • Pete Petretich

After watching this video last night, and then sleeping on it, now I see more than ever that there is a two-party system in this country:

The party of BANKRUPTCY and CRONYISM

the party of FREEDOM and RESPONSIBILITY.

(Btw, I am not talking about Democrats and Republicans!)
