When former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died today at the age of 87, many of us reflected on an amazing life lived and mourned the loss of one of the great world leaders of the 20th Century. She was praised by both sides of the political spectrum for her courage and leadership. Governor Palin penned a very eloquent tribute to her, which ran on National Review Online. Predictably, there were a group of people who celebrated her death, proving yet again that leftists are some of the most hateful, intolerant people on the planet. And, there was yet another subset of people who reacted to Lady Thatcher’s passing in another way. They used this as an opportunity to trash Governor Palin. Now, we know the Mama Grizzly possesses many of the same attributes that the Iron Lady did, but it amazes and amuses me how some people can take a news event totally unrelated to Governor Palin and use it to find a way to smear her.
Ann Coulter was one of those people, as she reached a new low today and proceeded to make stuff up out of thin air as well as repeat a thoroughly debunked story from two years ago. Stacy took her to the woodshed here, so I don’t have to do it in this post. By the way, what happened to Ann Coulter? I used to like her. My guess is that 3 calorie a day diet has killed off the brain cells which control logic. Ann, I care, so I’m going to introduce you to my mom. She is your regular, everyday Jewish mother, meaning she is a great cook and she will make sure you are adequately fed. Maybe then, you’ll get some meat on your bones. Because, right now you aren’t looking so healthy, and as a typical, red-blooded American male, let me tell you- it’s not attractive, either. Trust me on this one.
When I woke up this morning and checked the Twitter, I was treated to this gem by Dave Weigel
daveweigel (@daveweigel) tweeted at 7:26 AM on Mon, Apr 08, 2013:
At some point today a former half-term governor of Alaska will have some opinions about Thatcher, but we can ignore that.
So, Weigel is basically saying “here is someone so irrelevant who I don’t care about, yet I’m going to take the time to tweet about her even though she has nothing to do with this story so I can show everyone just how irrelevant she is and at the same time show how edgy and snarky I am. If this convoluted logic makes you want to down a bottle of cheap vodka, you’re probably not alone. Weigel is a longtime PDSer who has been smearing Governor Palin for years. It seems as if all PDSers have a unique method to their PDS. Sure, they all hate everything about her, but I’m starting to notice some have a particular method or category to their PDS. Almost like a PDS fingerprint. For example, Andrew Sullivan specializes in Trig Trutherism. Because I had to be subjected to Weigel’s idiocy this morning, I figured we would take a stroll down Memory Lane and discover just what kind of a person Dave Weigel really is, and reveal his PDS fingerprint.
Let’s go back to 2010. In the spring of that year, Joe McGinniss, a dishonest writer who had been smearing Governor Palin for a couple of years, took his creepy obsession to stalker-like levels when he rented the house next door to the Palins while he wrote an unauthorized biography of her. Even people who were not supporters of Governor Palin’s thought this was crossing the line and somewhat creepy. Dave Weigel’s reaction? He took McGinniss’s side and had the audacity to claim Governor Palin was really the aggressor and McGinniss was the victim. Let’s review that, because most decent people probably have to hear that again. A family is minding their own business, going about living their lives. A notoriously dishonest writer, who has a weird and somewhat creepy obsession with one of the members of that family, moves in to the house next door, 15 feet away, to write an unauthorized book about said family member. That said family member expresses concern about the situation. In short, one person is being stalked and one person is the stalker. Dave Weigel not only took the side of the stalker, he said the person who was being stalked was really the bad guy in all of this. Weigel continued to defend McGinniss’s obsession, and even defended McGinniss’s book when it came out. Dudes, and dudettes, that’s the kind of guy Dave Weigel is.
In a way I’m glad Weigel made the comment he did today, because it allowed people to be reminded of the morally bankrupt human being he is. These are the kinds of people who hate Governor Palin. It should make you proud to be a supporter of hers. And to Dave and all the others who can’t seem to stop obsessing over her: rent free, dude. Rent free.
