Governor Palin Congratulates David Brat on His Stunning Victory

Via Facebook

Congratulations to Dave Brat in Virginia on such an encouraging victory tonight! You shocked the political world and reminded D.C. that power lies with We the People and not any conventional party establishment. Dave Brat was massively outspent (more than 10 to 1) and laughed off by most, but he won the trust of voters the old fashioned way – one by one. Tonight’s victory showed the power of the local grassroots – the ones with boots on the ground who put up the campaign signs and go door to door to provide needed support for great candidates. Appreciation also goes to those with powerful microphones like Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, Ann Coulter and others who recognized Dave’s strengths and had the guts to provide him a megaphone to reach concerned citizens.

Grassroots commonsense conservatives can use this momentum to push good candidates like Chris McDaniel, T.W. Shannon, and Rob Maness to victory for America. These candidates are also being massively outspent by establishment candidates and they need our help and energy.

Thank you, Virginia! On to November!

– Sarah Palin

Video – Ann Coulter On Eric Cantor’s Loss To Tea Party Candidate

  • Laddie_Blah_Blah

So proud that Virginia has sent the most important message to establishment Washington, so far, this year. The very first time in the history of the republic that the majority leader of any party has been beaten in his own district, by his own party faithful.

No one expected that. I even interrupted the Nats game with the Giants to watch Megan Kelly and Hannity interview the victor, and to listen to the opinions of the Fox talking heads. Much of the credit has to go to the Great One, and to Ingraham and Coulter.

Somehow, the sun seems brighter today (even though its raining). Sent another check to SARAHPAC.

I am so proud of Virginia. I also watched Mr. Brat on Hannity and he was great. I was out running errands when I heard Levin on the radio almost calling the race for Cantor. I was shocked. My husband didn’t believe it until we got home and turned on the TV.

Almost makes up for having McCauliffe as governor, and a GOPe RINO running for the US Senate.

If that governor’s race were held this cycle, instead of last year, Cuccinelli would have won.

That Brat won this cycle makes his win that much sweeter.

  • Laddie_Blah_Blah

This is who Eric Cantor worked for. Here are Cantor’s biggest campaign contributors:

  • BuckeeBeaver

I am so glad that I sent in a contribution by online the night before the primary as it makes me feel that I did something to help out.
We can all make a difference if we just do something.
Go SarahCuda. We love you Sarah.

  • MarkRNY

Hey Sarah–Go thou out and do the same!
Way to go Brat. You took down Boehner’s brain!
Shockwaves baby–and shockwaves lead to Tidal Waves! (not PC "Tsunamis").

      Thanks, Sir Marcus!

Apparently Palin did not endorse in this race. She supported Brat, but from what I read at P4A and here, she didn’t want to say or do anything to hurt his chances. Hopefully she supports him financially going forward.

    • MurphycatII

I cannot find a straight answer on whether Gov. Palin endorsed Brat or did not endorse and only supported him (whatever that means.) Can anyone help? Why would she think she would hurt his chances with an endorsement? Does she underestimate herself? I would think and hope not! I for one cannot wait to see Sara Palin on the stump this summer campaigning for Brat>>>>>

      • Ting

Well, this is what Dave Brat told me yesterday. He asked for an endorsement and had hoped that he would get it, but he did not. I understood him to mean that he did not get a response, not that he got a "turn-down." He did not mention any form of support from her. He was not bitter about it. He admires her for many, many things, one of which is her strategy skills. We surmised yesterday that maybe since she is a lightning rod that she might have thought that his chances in the (let’s face facts, this sort of country club affluent snobby area west of Richmond) district were better without her. She has said that she only wants to go where she can help and not hurt, after all.

I wondered, but did not discuss this part with Dave, if she wanted to keep her options open to work with Cantor if she ran in the future.

Dave still adores her and supports her and is really so very much like her. I can’t imagine that she would have anything major with which to object about his campaign.

        • section9

I suspect that Palin and her people did not think that Brat could pull it off. Let’s be clear here ; take a look at that district- it’s Richmond for gosh sakes! If she endorses and Brat loses, Karl wins again.

I suspect you’ll see more forthcoming support going forward, but Palin has been hesitant to take on anyone in Leadership or any Friends of McCain.

          • Ting

Yes, that is my guess as well, But I really am only speculating about Palin’s point of view. I think I am accurately portraying Brat’s point of view, at least the part he shared with me.

          • DocBarry1

U have every rt to share your opinion, but I am hopeful that someone will ask her and then we will know for sure.

        • hope4palins

          Fascinating, absolutely fascinating. Thank you.

        • MurphycatII

Great insider info. and of great help in sorting out the palace intrigue. If they truly have never spoken, which is hard to believe, tell your friend Mr. Brat to keep sending out the feelers to Gov. Palin and not to give up on her. Her future endorsement is in the bag after Mr. Brat’s big win!

  • MurphycatII

If the Brat v. Cantor race was grassroots activism v. corporate money and the grassroots won. Doesn’t Sara Palin realize, that if she ran in 2016 she would have grassroots activism and a massive amount of grassroots money behind her? Sounds like a winning combination to me! Grassroots activism + grassroots money beats corporate money.

  • from_The_Patch

I wonder how many more "ass-whuppin’s" the GOP will need before they start to heed the people?

    • hope4palins

Imo they are like lemmings: The closer they get to the cliff, the faster they go.

  • BrianusBerkleianus

    Thank you, Governor!

The People will follow a True Patriot.

The People will follow a Genuine Leader.

The people will follow the REAL DEAL.

    The People followed George Washington.

The People will follow YOU, Sarah.

Please, please, if it be the Good Lord’s Will, as you perceive it, please run for President for 2016.

This is the display of Gov. Palin’s political brilliance that is rooted in her character, almost instinctive: She congratulated Dave Brat, and also complimented Levin, Ingraham and Coulter for their hard work and contributions. If it had been me I wouldn’t have been big enough to mention Coulter and Ingraham, but that’s why Gov. Palin is the political talent. She is incredibly magnanimous to people who have shown her little or no respect in the past, which only shows how classy Gov. Palin truly is.

She is absolutely right on when she describes this as a victory for the grass roots, and then at the end of the post ties that in with the need to use this momentum to help other people that we so desperately need on the national scene: Shannon in OK, McDaniel in MS and Maness in LA. In its own way, this posting is just as powerful a communication as her wonderful smackdowns of Statism. This is how a Leader acts, reacts, and communicates. It shows how truly Presidential she is: Professionals see this and are learning that she is someone who will not only hold their feet to the fire, she will happily give credit where credit is due without needing any for herself. That’s Presidential in the best sense; that’s real class, a quality sorely missing among her rivals in the PPC.

    God bless you Gov. Palin.

    • BrianusBerkleianus

"Magnanimous," "great-souled"–perfect word to describe our Governor.

      Thank you, hope4palins!!

Enjoyed the take, correct, natural leader, brings people together, humble, honest, always above fray, feel it her handshake, knew it then, immediately, totally Special Lady, balloon field, cold rainy day Indianola.(Sun came out start of speech, stayed until Sarah shook everyone’s hand, exchanged kind words, words of support,) words we embraced.

Huge gift for America, an American gal through and through, authentic, straight up, knows what has to be done, doing it. Everyday Americans, Reagan Dems, any semi sane person = silent majority, average tax paying American,T/P have her back, Coast to Coast, North to South, growing, (support massively underrated) Sarah is it, glue, who? yup, Sarah Palin, who would of thought it .. we did, Sarah Leads, Silent Majority alive and well. thanks ..

      • hope4palins

Thank you for your kind words. I agree completely.
