Governor Palin’s New FOX Article

Another splendid article from the Governor via FOX News

The next time you hear politicians denounce Barack Obama as a lawless, imperial president with a scandal-riddled administration, ask them what they’re going to do about it. Their gnashing of teeth over Obama’s self-granted omnipotence is repetitive.

Let’s agree with our ninth president, William Henry Harrison, who said there is nothing more corrupting, nothing more destructive than the exercise of unlimited power. We understand the problem. The only way for politicians to fix it is with a little less talk and a lot more action.

The Constitution provides the remedy for a president who commits “high crimes and misdemeanors.” It’s impeachment.

Alexander Hamilton described impeachable offenses as those “which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust.” He explained that they are “political” offenses “as they relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself.”

No serious person who is paying attention can deny that Obama and his administration have abused and violated the public trust and disregarded the Constitution. Let me count the ways.

Without notifying Congress as required by law, he set free terrorist prisoners at a time of war when they can return to the battlefield to kill our troops.

In violation of our Constitution, he regularly ignores court orders, changes laws by executive fiat, and refuses to enforce laws he doesn’t like, including our immigration laws.

When Congress declined to pass amnesty for illegal immigrants’ offspring, he unilaterally enacted his own version of it, which created the current crisis on our border as illegal youth pour into our country to receive what he illegally promised them.

He committed fraud on the American people when he promised that if we liked our health care plan we could keep it.

He got us into a war in Libya without Congressional approval. When our ambassador begged for security at the consulate in Benghazi, he was ignored and then murdered when the consulate was attacked as predicted. Americans were left behind to die, as the president did nothing to rescue our people there. Afterwards, he helped spread the lie that a spontaneous protest over a YouTube video was to blame for this highly organized, premeditated terrorist attack.

Obama’s IRS targeted his political opponents for harassment. Then the agency lied to and stonewalled Congress and likely destroyed subpoenaed evidence, while Obama falsely declared there’s no corruption there, not even a smidgen.

Impeachment is the ultimate check on an out-of-control executive branch. It is serious, not to be used for petty partisan purposes; and it is imperative that it becomes a matter of legitimate discussion before the American people lose all trust in our federal government.

Impeachment requires moral courage to advance what is right, and it requires political will. A complacent or disheartened electorate may silently endure these abuses from the administration, the permanent political class is only too happy to maintain the status quo, and the mainstream media is not a fair watchdog. So, the nation’s last line of defense is for We the People to rise up and say, “enough is enough.”

Obama’s lawless encouragement of illegal immigration should be the tipping point for that political will because it impacts all Americans – native-born and legal immigrants of all backgrounds who followed the rules and now watch rewards go to rule breakers while they’re forced to compete for limited jobs and resources. It’s the tipping point because the forgotten working class is hurt most by this lawlessness; and these good Americans deserve the strongest, most effective tool to defend the livelihoods they’ve so honorably built!

Some argue that at best the House might vote for articles of impeachment, but the Senate is unlikely to convict. But that is no argument against holding a president accountable and sending the people’s message to all successors.

Obama can keep laughing and say, “so sue me” to the House’s tepid lawsuit threat. Let’s hear him laugh off impeachment. At the very least, despite his mocking the Constitution, this Constitutional process will put him on notice.

The only thing necessary to transform America into something unrecognizable is for good men to do nothing! If not these violations and the president’s promise to continue to “go it alone” in ignoring the separation of powers and rule of law, what will it take for you to take a stand? How bad does it have to get?

We live in an America where the NSA spies on our communications, the IRS targets us because of our political beliefs, the border is overrun by foreign nationals, terrorist leaders are released to the battlefield, our health care is taken from us and we’re forced to buy a plan we don’t want and can’t afford, Catholic nuns are targeted by the government simply because they adhere to their Catholic faith, the Justice Department arms Mexican drug lords, and the president keeps a “kill list” of people he’s authorized to be executed on sight.

Very informative piece and you can read the entire thing here.

No one questions, if honest, that Obama has acted in a lawless manner and violated Separation of Powers in the Constitution etc

So Gov Palin’s critics instead attack her and/or state it is bad politically -hey, about standing on Principles

Wish that Fox site used Disqus. There are a lot of negative comments to which I would have liked to respond. Am 81 and don’t want to have to learn some different system with a different password. I don’t give my email address to anyone as I don’t look at any emails.

A well-crafted Bill of Particulars against a Regime of Criminals.

This isn’t a one-off. Palin has some sort of strategic plan that she is executing.

I just finished reading it. I totally agree with you.

    • stevethird

Many out there in blogger/fb land don’t seem to get that. They are stuck on Harry Reid, and how impeachment worked so well for Clinton. Frustrating, but it will come clear over the next few months.

      I think your right
you have to look at her history of success when challenging political parties of either ilk , she has a plan and what I think she is trying to do is
squeeze the parties into showing their true colours to make our choices in November stand out and separate from the colourless political system we have now . in other words Reagans bold colours not pastel shades , and she is a big follower of RR .

    Excellent Article…

When will it be time for civil disobedience?
screw the executive branch and all who organizations reporting to it.
We are all equal under the law, so if they don’t follow, why should we?

  • DocBarry1

It is my hope that the Governor consider doing a video to go with her opinion or Op-Eds – to actually see her and then hear her say the words adds so much to the message

Watching her presenting her positions are Priceless.

Another brilliant piece by Gov. Palin. I noticed her use of historical quotes to back her positions and taking on arguments opposed and dismantling them with impeccable logic. I too, hope that she will do another FB video expressing these views.

It’s going to be quite difficult after this article to claim that Impeachment is "unnecessary". I don’t care if, as Rush says, that the President and his ilk want Impeachment so that they can use it as a club against the GOP. It’s time for them to grow a set. If they do it right, the whole ugly mess of his Chicago-Thugocracy will get dragged out in the open for everyone to see. More important, it’s The Right Thing To Do.

Once again, Sarah Palin: The Adult In the Room. It’s called being a Leader.

    God bless her.

    • Laddie_Blah_Blah

That lady stands alone among our political leadership. Check that. She IS our political leadership, and is the only one who can legitimately be called a leader.

"It’s time for them to grow a set. If they do it right, the whole ugly mess of his Chicago-Thugocracy will get dragged out in the open for everyone to see. More important, it’s The Right Thing To Do."

Rush sounds like just another time-serving media chickensh*t, but Mark Levin and Sean Hannity get it.

Sarah will not let this go. The "right thing" is the only thing that matters to her.

      • lyndaaquarius

she’s always 10 steps ahead, politically, of everyone else. Finely tuned political instincts and timing. She knows exactly what she’s doing. This will become apparent in short order. "The dogs may bark, but the caravan moves on".

I love the swift swing of the nightstick! Boom!
The Governor sure has a way of shaking the naysayers out of the bushes and making them reveal themselves so all can see why the republican party is not holding to the principles in the platform and why there is no longer a distinction between the supposed political parties.
The timing of these swift swings are perfect.
    Thank you Governor Palin.

  • JDCampbell

Obama laughs because his brand of chaos has worked perfectly. Obama is by all accounts an egotistical Mad Hatter of sorts half crazed with power. If by some miracle we can have him impreached, or commited to an institution, what then?

    • friskyness

Biden will be president…….he won’t get away with as much as Obama does…….

        That may not happen
as the truth about who Obama is it will be revealed that he is not a US citizen thus illegally president thus everything he did would be null and void , Biden would not be vice President paving the way for John the crying B until such time the democrats could find a new leader .

  • Aaron Herald

Past is prologue. As the sun rises and sets so will Obama continue upon his path of lawlessness. Emboldened by his previous escapes from justice, Obama’s hubris is destined to lead him to risk even bolder acts of malfeasance. The curtain will then be pulled aside and the great and powerful Oz will stand exposed. It’s only a matter of time until even our weak-kneed leaders in the Beltway will be forced to respond to the existential threat Obama presents to America. Palin will be vindicated for her principled call for impeachment.

  • PhilTan

"Let’s hear him laugh off impeachment". So well said and so true. Great point.

  • BearNJ

While the GOP leadership under Boehner is afraid of his own shadow.
and It will never happen but there is a serious case for it. Sarah’s post can educate the public who haven’t read the Constitution and undertsand the limits of the Executive.

The Presidential oath is to "preserve, protect and defend the
    Constitution of the United States.".

Obama’s violation of the separation of powers, by means of unilateral executive actions, in violation of U.S. law.

He has continued the use of signing statements, and has made dozens of appointments of special "czars" and recess appointments, to circumvent Congressional oversight and the Senate confirmation process. Obama was ruled against by the Supreme Court 9-0.

Obama’s health-care plan has been illegally changed 41 times. It’s a violation of the law and his oath. He had no authority to unilaterally change laws. Again a violation of his oath.

He has expanded domestic surveillance and wiretapping with, "fusion centers" to data mining to drones to alarming Department of Homeland Security power grabs. This is a clear violation of the 4th amendment

His administration has used the IRS to target political enemies. No direct connection to President (Other than hundreds of meeting with IRS commissioner) but he’s responsible for his administration. Nixon THINKING about doing this was in his Articles of Impeachment.

Violation of the U.S. Constitution and the War Powers Resolution by deploying U.S. armed forces and conducting war against Libya without Congressional authorization or a declaration of war. Indeed, Obama has insisted that a United Nations resolution authorizing "humanitarian intervention" is a higher authority than the United States Constitution. Even Bush had authorization for the stupid Iraq. war.

The Obama administration recklessly endangered the public by releasing from prison criminal illegal aliens, terrorists and refuses to defend the borders. Protect and defend the nation is a basic requirement of a President.

Illicit edicts on gun control actions in addition to the deadly "Fast and Furious" gun-running operation intended to collect fraudulent gun data. A border agent and at least 200 Mexicans died. Obama used executive privilege to stop
    the investigation.

Obama has weakened America both domestically and abroad by emboldening our enemies, tacitly supporting a Muslim Brotherhood revolution, spurning our allies, and minimizing the threat of Islamic fundamentalism. This is potentially
a violation of his Constitutional oath.

Expanded the regulatory state with the EPA to violate individual property rights and deny due recourse. This while he make sure to give legal rights to illegals and terrorists.

Changed laws for political crony capitalist friends like Solyndra where US tax payers were put on the hook and management was released from personal guarantees is a violation of Federal law.

Ongoing efforts by FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski to gain control over the internet in opposition to a judge’s ruling and Congress’s will, by reclassifying internet companies as telecommunication providers thus making them subject to FCC regulation.

That’s some list. It’s worse list than Nixon’s articles of Impeachment.
