  • M_Minnesota

Palin is correct that Obama is disconnected from crises. Now Obama wants to add a 51st state. (Washington D.C.) Maybe Barry is thinking the State of confusion like the 57 states he Campaigned back in 08′

    • excopconservative

D.C. was created so that our capital would not be in one of the nation’s member states, so that the Federal government could not be accused of favoring one state over the others. Avoiding the appearance of corruption is not important to the Chicago thugocracy. "D.C. uber alles" is their motto now.

      • M_Minnesota

Yup, I knew D.C. was set up originally to avoid appearance of corruption. Thanks for that salient point!!

For Obama to even make a suggestion that D.C. be a state shows how out of touch he is. Even if that suggestion is merely a play of "Don’t look at what the other hand is doing."

        • excopconservative

The dems are accepting that they will lose the Senate this year and are thinking about how they will go about getting it back. The answer is to alter the playing field.

They know that CA will not break into 6 horizontally created states giving them an additional 8 to 10 senators, so they are looking to pick up 2 more by making D.C. a state. This is the Chicago mob doing what it does best.

There is no logic in this proposal, only a misplaced sense of "fairness". D.C. is just a city and has no attributes of a state. If the city of Washington, D.C. is made a state, then why not Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco? There’s 6 more senators to be had there. Every major city in the country could make a case for statehood better than D.C. Most of them have an economy apart from the making of regulations and government.

This idea is a "Hail, Mary" in hopes of avoiding an extended period of possibly decades of being a minority in the Senate.

    • suehimel

Nah, he is thinking of 2 more Senate seats for the Democrats and…..I don’t know how many more House seats for the Democrats. But it would have the most impact in the Senate.

    • PhilTan

He want’s an almost certain two additional democratic senators elected from this newly minted state. Can he do it by executive fiat or must it be ratified by the existing 50 states and a supermajority of congress. let’s hope for the later.

I don’t see how that debunks anything. The blogger provides zero evidence of his claim. If this video was actually posted on a Ukranian Ministers FB page months ago .. where’s the link?

If this Ministers FB post has been subsequently deleted, then where is this bloggers back-up of the page. Anyone can save any webpage and make a permanent back-up copy simply by right-clicking on any webpage and selecting "Save As".

      • colint

Primarily I blame European Air Traffic Control for allowing planes to be routed through a war zone. It may be that from the Russians who want to separate from Ukraine obtained from Russia equipment that they could use against Ukraine aircraft and then used it negligently. The US has given arms to several groups and US arms left behind or given to Iraq are now being used by Islamic extremists murdering Christians or others for religious reasons. If Russia is to be held responsible for unauthorised misuse could the US be blamed for misuse of weapons it supplied.

Don’t think it is in US interest to see and treat Russia as an enemy equal to N. Korea.

        • iizthatiiz

gotta agree that traffic controllers AND Malayasian Airlines bear a degree of responsibility for the tragedy. This wasn’t the first shoot-down in that region. Previous incidents were well known within aviation circles. Flying a direct path over the war region instead of rerouting to safe skies saved the airlines quite a bit in fuel expenses.

The Russian rebels however bear main responsibility. They pulled the trigger .. and the BUK system is capable of detecting civillian transponders.

          • AmazedOne1

I don’t have time to look it up right now, but I saw a quote by Malaysian Airlines in which they said that they had deemed that the route was fine (even AFTER the rebels had warned planes to stay out of that airspace) because it was the highway of the skies.

          • colint

Agree. Russian rebels primarily responsible though we don’t know how qualified they were in equipment use. If Malayasian Airlines were aware of the risk they are certainly culpable but I think Air Traffic Control should be able to mandate the route.

            • stlouisix

That’s not all we don’t know. We don’t now if the Russians themselves experienced with those weapons masquerading as rebels fired them! And we’re sure as hell not going to get the truth from a KGB thug like Putin and one of his enablers like the serial sociopathic lying Obama who’s on record of telling the former soviets who still are that basically I will be able to help you more when I’m reelected!

        • TheresaAK

Glad you are not in charge…Russia under Putin, is indeed equivalent ….you are going to find out…about Putin’s evil soon.

    • Craig Phillips

I heard that there was a report playing in Russian TV news that the plane was loaded with dead people and sent in to be shot down with the intension to blame and embarrass Mother Russia – you know; the very kind of thing you’d expect from the Dutch & Australians ( now 37 Aussies lost )
That in itself would suggest that the media controlling neo-fascist Putin regime have dirty hands in all of this.

    1 Thessalonians 5

4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

5 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.

7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.

11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

It is a sad day in America when Americans compare a would be "king"
and a "would be czar (dictator)…and the "would be czar (dictator) wins
    the contest of admiration.

This is where America is today….

    Remember this…WE ARE AMERICA…"We don’t do Kings"…Sarah Palin

and we certainly should NOT be admiring a dangerous man like Putin. (me)

Please lift up the Christians and Jews in Ukraine, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Iran,

    • palin45potus

I’m sure glad that you are a fearless Palinista!

Ya know, I’ve been regularly upbraided by Ernst1776 in the past for my negativity towards the GOPe. After reading his criticism of you I think I understand that he is a "Can’t we all just get along" type. Which is a great and noble ideal to aspire to.

Except that in today’s world the Dem’s are playing "broken-bottle" politics and the GOP is as well…at least towards conservatives as we see in Mississippi and we have seen in the past, most notably towards Sarah Palin but also towards anyone associated with her.

The quickest way to curry favor with the msm and the Dems for a RINO is to badmouth Sarah Palin. Chris Christie, Joe Scarborough, Mitt Romney, the whole bunch has been praised by the press for being snarky and nasty towards her.

Ernst rightly salutes Sarah for being "Above it all" but she’s not a shrinking violet by any means. She saves her ammo for Obama. I mean, why should she waste her breath on a bunch of wannabes when the real source of trouble is in the White House. Her biggest problem is that her own party has repeatedly sided with the thugs instead of with her, partly out of greed but mostly out of fear. They don’t think that she will or could hurt them. They’ve undoubtedly been told in minute detail exactly how they will be dealt with if they don’t do exactly as they are told.

Anyways, keep up the good work. I couldn’t log on last night but I saw that there were many who defended you admirably.

      • iizthatiiz

    My Dear Friends in Sarah,

    Happy Tuesday to you all!

Here are a few highlights from and observations on the Governor’s interview last night on Hannity’s show.

    God bless!!

    DEO VOLENTE, SARAH 2016!!!!

General observation: Did you guys see how young, how alive, how feisty, how fearless, how JOYFUL she looked last night, speaking from her beautiful seat and home in Alaska, dressed in fiery orange!?! I shall return to this theme at the end of this post.

    Particular highlights and observations:

She powerfully and pertinently contrasts President Reagan’s reaction and response to the 1983 shooting down of the Korean airliner to obama’s reactions to the various current crises. REAGAN CALLED OUT EVIL; he didn’t talk about "flexibility," etc.

There is a very different MINDSET now in the presidency.

She cites the border crisis too.

obama is in over his head. And she notes "We warned people in the campaign" (i.e., in 2008) about his lack of executive experience and qualifications, about his being a community organizer. What else would we expect? she says in effect.

She cites the "president’s" distancing himself from things, even PHYSICALLY distancing himself, and his pointing of fingers and his passing of the buck as his (tacit) acknowledgment that he is in over his head.

Hannity cites her prediction, in the ’08 campaign, that Putin would invade Ukraine. The Governor brilliantly wields oratorical humor and self-deprecation when Hannity calls her prediction "profound." She says that it was easy for her, not from her house, but from Alaska, to keep an eye on Putin!

This lady does not forget things like the Tina Fey distortion, but, like Ronald Reagan with his sunny optimism, she can LAUGH at the "slings and arrows" of her enemies!!!

Finally, she censures obama’s "shirking back" and the "shrinking" back from America’s influence and from our country’s example of being a "shining city on a hill."

A VACUUM has been left; and this vacuum is being filled by EVIL MEN.

But it is not too late, she says, and she cites the importance of the coming mid-term elections.

    In conclusion, guys, …

… Just LOOK at her as she was last night:

She, IMV, looks younger, stronger, more vibrant than ever!! She even gives an enthusiastic thumbs-up to Hannity’s idea of coming up to Alaska to do some salmon fishing!

The Establishment threw everything they had at her … their filthy and vile and vicious everything …

… AND SHE, for all of her short stature, STANDS TALLER THAN

My friends, even though she has not (yet) been elected as President of the United Sates, Sarah of Alaska, IMHO, HAS WON!!!!

    • M_Minnesota

Goes back to Palin’s statement if Obama cannot be impeached, no one can. • Cheetah444

I mentioned to you a few weeks ago that I was going to hear Dutch Sheets speak in my area. Well, he spoke last night and one of the things that came out of the meeting was that we’d see a Daniel 7:22 fulfillment on 7/22 – today!

"Until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the holy people of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom."

The ObamaCare ruling could certainly qualify as a major judgment in our favor!

Going to hear Dutch and Chuck Pierce this afternoon again!

More on "The Forgotten Man" please!

This is THE winning theme. I knew it as I heard the speech unfold.

The shameless thieves in DC also knew it as they heard it, and are undoubtedly hard at work "market-testing" the ideas from their army of consultants on how to steal it for themselves.

Of course, just as no one should ever try to cover a Beatles Song, no one should try to imitate Sarah Palin. They might be able to steal the prose but they cannot match the poetry.

    • BrianusBerkleianus

Right on, 45!! Sarah is beautifully unique, and we all know well that there is no fake or substitute that can take her place!!

    • 1776er

      Agreed. Agreed. Agreed.

The Forgotten Men and Women of America need our story told. The American Middle. The hard working Have A Little Want Mores who have no interest in marching in the protest parade or waving placards or screaming at demonstrations because we are too busy working to pay the bills in an ever losing proposition to maintain our now steadily vanishing standard of living. A diminishment that is by design of the Ruling Class that commands Washington and Wall St.

We have no voice in Washington or the in the media, entertainment, the arts, education or withing the circles of the Dominant Ruling Class and the PPC which exploits all Forgotten Men and Women of what Angelo Codevilla calls the Country Class. We have no voice or effective Representation. Our views are irrelevant to decision making effecting all of our futures. We do not have a place at the table. We are on the menu.

Thank God we do have a voice. A loud, crystal clear, authentic unambiguous voice advocating for and expressing for the Forgotten Men and Women of America.

Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin is our voice and our heart. She advocates for us because she is one of us. We are Sarah Palin.

      • BrianusBerkleianus

        "We are Sarah Palin."

    • AmazedOne1

I think Sarah needs a phrase that is uniquely her own, wording SHE creates and SHE then is known for — like "death panels." In contrast, "The Forgotten Man" is already the name of several works:

The Forgotten Man, and Other Essays, an 1876 collection of essays by William Graham Sumner

The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression, a 2007 book by Amity Shlaes

The Forgotten Man, a 2005 Elvis Cole novel by Robert Crais

The Forgotten Man, a 1971 TV film

The Forgotten Man, a 1941 Robert Benchley short

July 22nd, 2014 • The D.C. I want people to really think about the fact that the GOP has been fearlessly defending Obama from facing the consequences of his actions by taking impeachment off the table completely.

Because this same GOP "partnered" with the Dems directed by Obama’s man Pete Rouse back in 2009 in order to drive Sarah Palin from office. They were using bankruptcy as their weapon. Imagine that, trying to bankrupt the mother of a young child with special needs. Remember that the next time they try to extort from you by saying "It’s for the children!".

But what they did to her was ipso-facto "Impeachment by other means" and so what was she impeached for? She was impeached for following the letter of the law, for not "playing the game" and making sure that the well-connected cronies were well-fed and looked after ahead of the people who elected her, and for being a strong voice of opposition to Obama and his over-reach of his Constitutional Authority, which was seen right from the start with the Stimulus Money and those "Strings" that were attached to all that "Free" money. Basically, the politicians in Alaska were furious that she would put principles over political payoffs and they conspired to "Bring Her Down" using the quirks of Alaska’s legal system to thwart her defense against a series of calculated charges designed to generate negative headlines and to paralyze her administration with FOIA requests.

A President Palin will face this exact same opposition on a national scale, and the press will be licking it’s chops to see impeachment charges brought against her. I expect some grand-standing politicians to be in a race to file the first charges against her, and they will all be BS. This is the moral state of Washington DC today, where an Obama is protected while he dismantles America, and where a Patriot like Sarah Palin is targeted for destruction because she will stop the gravy train.

    • BrianusBerkleianus

      Great, 45; thanks!!

      This is a fascinating juxtaposition:

The Establishment’s REFUSAL to impeach the evil obama, and their virtual, if not literal, "impeachment" of the blameless Sarah Palin!!

      • palin45potus

(Guys, in response to Exgunman’s inquiry above, and for anyone else who may be interested, here is the piece that I posted the other day on the Governor’s speech in Denver.)

    My Dear Friends in Sarah,

A Happy and Blessed Sunday to you all.

Here are some highlights from and observations on the Governor’s speech yesterday.

    God Bless!

    DEO VOLENTE, SARAH 2016!!!!!

General observation: It seems providentially suitable and significant that the Governor pronounced her clarion call to arms from that very same city where barack hussein obama was "crowned" during his DNC acceptance speech in late August, 2008.

    Particular highlights and observations:

She draws a clear line of distinction and demarcation between, on the one hand, the Permanent Political class (BOTH sides of the aisle) that profits from the corrupt system, and "The Forgotten Man," on the other hand. She presents a magnificent "litany" of just who "The Forgotten Man" is, including ordinary
working people, students who foolishly put their trust in obama, veterans who have been betrayed, and Tea Party patriots who have been persecuted by obama’s IRS.

My remark: She continues, IMV, to lay the foundations for a new political paradigm and pattern and alignment: Not Dems vs. GOP, but Big Government vs. The People!

She proceeds to censure the "president" for Benghazi and amnesty. She mocks the "messiah" of ’08, and reaches out and asks Democrats if they really still support "The obama Doctrine": Break the Law, Get a Reward.

Common sense is an endangered species in DC, she says (implicitly ridiculing, IMV, the overreaching of the EPA).

If obama won’t secure the borders: IT’S NOT IMMIGRATION, IT’S INVASION!!!!!

She censures the collusion going on to replace American workers with cheap, illegal-alien laborers.

After discussing what The Forgotten Man has lost, she declares what he still has: BELIEF in this Exceptional Nation.

She praises Ronald Reagan for standing up for The Forgotten Man, and for leaving his Democratic Party, because it had left him.

My remark: IMHO, this is a clear warning that SHE could leave the GOP for the same reasons that Reagan abandoned the Dems!

She challenges the politicians who censure obama for lawlessness: What are you gonna DO about it?!? Let’s call their bluff, she says—I’m calling their bluff, she says.

She calls out the Left for abusing the term "racist."

She explains what the Founders meant be impeachable offenses.

Re obama: If HE is not impeachable, NO ONE is!!!

She compares obama to a mob boss who cannot disclaim responsibility for a hit, just because he did not personally carry it out: The Buck Stops With The Guy At The Top!

She asserts that making the CASE for impeachment is not what is hard; it is finding the moral courage and GUTS to do it!!!! She censures "cautious inaction."

obama is abrogating Congressional authority, and is making himself a ruler, not a president; IN AMERICA WE DON’T DO KINGS!!

She cites, among many perils, the dangers of obama’s JUDICIAL appointments, and warns about unrecoverable damage from them.

We have to use OUR mighty weapons of a pen and a phone to influence Congress to impeach (a clear, if implicit, censure of obama’s infamous words, "I have a pen and I have a phone").

These endeavors must be carried out with courage and SUNNY OPTIMISM—and she again cites Reagan; these efforts are rooted in time-tested truths.

Then she crowns the speech with her peroration. It was, IMHO, one of her finest oratorical moments (and there have been a hell of a lot of these, as we well know)!!

Magnificent—a spear of truth piercing right to the essence of things.

After all (my remark) what is to "play god," except to decide that YOU, and not the LORD OF HOSTS, may decide what is right and wrong; what is moral and immoral; what may and may not be done!!!

Finally, she cites Colorado’s motto "Nothing Without Providence," and beautifully, forcefully, and perceptively supplies its complementary and completing words and sentiments: EVERYTHING WITH PROVIDENCE!!!!

Thus America will be saved: With an appeal to Divine Providence, to Heaven, for Wisdom and Courage!

My friends, the Left can have their so-called "president." For me, for you, for growing millions upon millions of us, OUR President, America’s REAL PRESIDENT, spoke yesterday in Beautiful Colorado!!!!!

I always look forward to these and apparently I’m not alone.

"The D.C. Circuit’s decision today in Halbig v. Burwell is a repudiation of Obamacare and all the lawlessness that has come with it. The Obama Administration, through the Internal Revenue Service, has attempted to dispense revenues to the states without proper congressional authorization, robbing Congress of its constitutionally-provided power of the purse.

This decision restores power to Congress and to the people and if properly enforced, should shield citizens from Obamacare’s insidious penalties, mandates, and subsidies.

This is a significant victory for the American people and the rule of law, but we must not rest. Americans will continue to lose jobs, pay higher premiums, and receive fewer healthcare choices because of this disastrous law. Every last word of Obamacare must be repealed to restore jobs, growth, and opportunity in our country." – Senator Ted Cruz
