Dan Riehl – Who Is The Torchbearer For A Re-Energised Conservatism…Perry Or Palin?

I have always regarded Dan Riehl as the one of the most honest, independent and fearless commentators of the right. Serious and thoughtful, nobody would ever accuse Mr Riehl of playing to the gallery. He ploughs his own furrow and does not hesitate to lock horns with fellow conservatives if the occasion arises.

UK Media:Hey, Maybe Sarah Palin Isn’t As Dim As We Were Told….

An odd thing is happening in the UK media and I doubt it’s anything to do with Killer Cucumbers. After nearly three years of dismissing Sarah Palin as an airhead……she is suddenly being treated as a human being with a claim to be considered as a serious operator in the lead up to the 2012 election.

“In her icy lair she waits” – Palin the Anti-Politician…

In her icy lair she waits while perplexed scribblers try to convince themselves that beside a distant northern lake there is no shadow roaming free beyond the parameters of their prescribed calculus and ingrained ritualistic incantations.

Canadians Says They Want More Stephen Harper…

Harper is pro Israel, treats a mainly critical media with contempt and is quite a reasonable rock keyboards man. He holds strong social conservative views but in the past has been opposed to those Conservative Party members who wanted to push the party into socially conservative positions. He prefers to be seen as a fiscal conservative, strong on national security and extremely suspicious of the United Nations.

LA talk show host John Phillips blogged an interesting post on Sarah Palin at the LA Times. His key point was that whoever was sworn in on a cold day in Washington in January 2013 was going to have to take some very difficult decisions and suffer a rough ride from all quarters all the way to 2016.

BBC On Palin – Fairer Than Your Average US Media?

Being an Englishman and a political junkie I watch BBC Newsnight regularly. As with the US networks the BBC has an inbuilt left/liberal bias but, although you could never get an Obama/Clinton style love-in for Governor Palin, the recent Newsnight profile of her was reasonably fair.

Lloyd Marcus On How The Liberal Media Tries To Brand Palin

Funny how the media are quite selective when filtering news items about Governor Palin. Not much was made last week about her latest Gallup Poll figures or the India trip but recent remarks by Governors Christie and Haley are bounced around the media like shreds of lettuce in a tossed salad.

The Tiger And The Grizzly – If Only The Palins And The Chuas Had Gone Camping….

Hence Palin’s entry into politics was initially driven by a desire to improve the community within which her children would grow and develop.
