That’s right America, these cities like Detroit that come into America’s living room need to be sent a message from 300 plus million citizen doctors. “Our long national nightmare is over!” The prescription is clear, no more financial bailouts to cities that spend beyond their means, and whose appetites are larger than their financial ability to pay for the meals they consume.

Considering the treatment that Republican consultant Stephen Schmidt and his minions gave Sarah Palin during and after the 2008 campaign, it is a safe bet that few followers of C4P are Schmidt fans. So all should enjoy Jeffrey Lord’s American Spectator piece on The Quisling Consultants. Everyone should read the whole thing, but here are [...]

MPI is one of the state-based, free-market oriented think tanks that has sprung up in the past few years, and it and its fellows are now more relevant than ever. Many conservatives, depressed over the condition of Washington, DC, are shifting their attention to states and localities in the hope that these can be islands of sanity in a political world that is increasingly disconnected from reality, and the state organizations are an excellent resource.

Fiction fans know The Hunger Games as a trilogy of novels and a recent movie about a decadent imperial capital that levies tribute on its impoverished provinces. Quite a few people are making the connection between this fictional world and contemporary Washington. The latest is conservative blogger Glenn Reynolds, who asks in USA Today “Are [...]

Yesterday’s post by Adrienne Ross had a nice recap of Palin’s strengths: Her message is always one of reform, respect for life, and restoration of our founding principles. She has not veered from championing fiscal responsibility, energy independence, and a strong national defense. She always encourages standing by allies, not bowing to enemies, and unapologetically [...]

Several recent posts on C4P have linked to articles comparing Sarah Palin with conventional politicians of both parties, with the comparison much in favor of Palin — see Why the Left Hates Sarah Palin (Evan Sayet, 2012); Some of Sarah Palin’s Ideas Cross the Political Divide (Anand Giridharadas, 2011); Hey GOP, take the Palin cure (Charlotte Allen, 2012).
