Seeing Palin taking the fight to Obama recharged my batteries, gave me hope, made me ready for more.

I was honored to be in Madison, Wisconsin, yesterday with a group of strong patriots willing to rough the snow and cold to stand together in solidarity. You can see a video of the speech here and below is a transcript.

Deroy Murdock | Uncle Sam’s Books Would Land CEOs in Jail Imagine that Uncle Sam suddenly morphed into Samuel Smith, CEO of Federal Enterprises, Inc., a conglomerate with 2.8 million employees in 2009, $2.2 trillion in revenues in 2010, and a proposed budget of $3.7 trillion for 2012. If this private company were run the […]

Mark Landsbaum | Your Money’s Gone with the Wind (and Solar) Renewable energy is all the rage. California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a law last week to encourage more of it. The law "encouraged" in the way government encourages everything: Do it or else. Rather than produce a mere 20 percent of California’s energy from […]

Gallup | Obama Approval With Independents Down to 35% PRINCETON, NJ – The latest Gallup Daily tracking three-day average shows 41% of Americans approving of the job Barack Obama is doing as president. That ties his low as president, which he registered three times previously — twice in August 2010 and once in October 2010. […]

Gail Collins | Romney ‘Mutating to the Political Winds’ My job today is to give you a run-through of every book Mitt Romney has ever written. Fortunately, there are only two: “Turnaround,” which is about his stint as the leader of the troubled 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games, and “No Apology,” his campaign tome, […]

Mark Steyn | Losing The Future How do you “invest in the future”? By borrowing $188 million every hour. That’s what the government of the United States is doing. It’s spending one-fifth of a billion dollars it doesn’t have every hour of every day of every week — all for your future! Most of the […]

Palin’s Madison speech reminds us of some important things. She’s not in the least bit afraid of a tough crowd. She’ll hold members of her party accountable if they don’t keep their word. She is passionate about the Tea Party movement and isn’t about to abandon her conservative principles in order to fit in with what’s cool in D.C.

If you would persuade, you must appeal to interest rather than intellect.

And I say personally to our President, hey parent to parent, Barack Obama, for shame for you to suggest that the heart of the common-sense conservative movement would do anything to harm our esteemed elders, to harm our children with down syndrome, to harm those who are most in need. No, see in our book, you prioritize appropriately and those who need the help will get the help. The only way we do that is to be wise and prudent and to budget according to the right priorities.

We didn't elect you just to rearrange the deck chairs on a sinking Titanic. We didn't elect you just to stand back and watch Obama redistribute those deck chairs.

What we want first and foremost in our GOP standard-bearer is someone unafraid of the MSM, and who takes the fight directly to Obama. We also want them calling out our friends in DC when they — to paraphrase the Governor — rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic after they’ve promised to stop Obama from hitting icebergs.

As Doug noted earlier, "Governor Palin is showing a tremendous amount of courage and leadership by literally traveling to the "lion’s den.'" This is not just lofty rhetoric. The threats are mounting, and they should be taken seriously.

But she’s absolutely right to go there. This is the United States. Mobs don’t rule here, law and order does, and the brave confront the bullies, they don’t run from them.

Obama gave a "word salad" interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos where he misused the phrase "you know" twenty-four times in a twenty-minute interview.

The fact that all polling shows the race to be close with no clear leader and is verified by both methodologically sound and unsound studies does provide sufficient support for the supposition that the race is already extremely close, and that no candidate has a particular advantage.
