The American people are overwhelmingly conservative, and the GOP base is reliant on the conservative vote. But you need more than conservatism to win. And only one candidate has it all.

The best way to determine whether Governor Palin had a successful interview is if her opponents resort to lying about what she said.

Well, what the tea party wants is for government to be smaller and smarter. So, you know, when you consider that we just saw an increase in government spending by about 28% and saw a little chip out of that to the tune of 1%, I would say that no, the tea party and Americans in general who are concerned about the fiscal health of our country did not get what they wanted.

Governor Palin has called on both President Obama to muster up some leadership skills and the GOP to hold firm to their commitments.

The House GOP does not want a shut down. They just want legitimate cuts (and I would argue not even enough!). If we can’t agree to cut a billion here and a billion there, we’ll never close this $1.5 trillion deficit.

Where is Mitt Romney? Where is Tim Pawlenty? Where is newt Gingrich? Where is all the rest of them? The only one who stepped up to the plate, is Sarah Palin. I mean she gave the most forceful positive comment on this.

It looks like the Governor's ability to win a strong majority of the Huckabee/Bachmann/Trump vote will be key to her prospects. Trump and Huckabee are the second and third choices among Tea Partiers.

If Palin jumped in and started to “go right at Obama” on, say, spending, it’s easy to imagine the conservative reception for Trump’s Birther broadsides turning from amusement and applause for his fearlessness to annoyance and even anger that he’s sucking media oxygen away from more substantive lines of attack and making it easier for the media to “kookify” the GOP.

It's going to be tough for us to argue that our electorate is actually sane enough to recognize that Obama's birth certificate isn't a critical issue facing our country when Trump is indeed polling as a frontrunner.

As for the polls, I think the Governor will probably need to win over a strong majority of the people who are right now indicating a preference for Donald Trump, Michele Bachmann, Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee in order to prevail.

So there you have it. The establishment set up Governor Palin's TLC travelogue and Fox News contributions as part of their "grooming" process. I can only conclude, then, that someone neglected to tell the establishment.

For many years I believed that the media had a blanket left-wing bias towards all Conservatives. It has been proven lately that there is more of a strategy at play, in regards to what the media reports and what they don't, versus knee-jerk ideology.
