Americans are sick of these sort of frivolous cases that so abuse our justice system. These things cost taxpayers money and place an unnecessary burden on to the public. We are equally tired of the shoddy reporting from the likes of the Associated Press.

One of the reasons why other Republicans haven't used Governor Palin's argument is that they simply do not understand the oil and gas industry. They don't have the same level of experience that Governor Palin does in dealing with oil companies and probably don't comprehend that tax incentives and subsidies don't impact all oil and gas companies the same way. Unlike Governor Palin, hacks like Romney and Pawlenty, con-men like Trump and Huckabee, and space cadets like Bachmann have been unable to explain how the oil industry works in a way that goes beyond trite and tired talking points.

It turns my stomach to hear the assumption articulated that "well we have to" despite the fact we’re raking in, the federal government, $6 billion a day. Take that money and service our debt first and pay down some of that debt. Make sure that we’re showing the international financial markets and our lenders that we’re serious about getting our debt and deficit problems under control.

The gas prices have increased 67% since Obama took over and instead of doing everything in his power to decrease those prices by allowing more domestic supply of oil which would translate into obviously more supply of gasoline too, he instead is heading the other direction. He’s over there asking the Saudis and other Arab nations to ramp up production so that we can purchase from them. That makes absolutely no sense because there goes our jobs, our opportunities, our money into foreign lands. We could be having that circulated here and that would boost our economy.

Many of us have faced hardships and had to accept assistance. Looking back, however, do we not sometimes feel that the assistance enabled us to slack off? Did accepting money we did not earn make us better people?

The good news is that like Huckabee, Trump is not really considering getting into the race. She'll need to absolutely clean Romney and Pawlenty's clocks among Trump/Huckabee voters once both Trump and Huckabee end the charades that they've been perpetrating among Republican primary voters. At a minimum, she'll need to win the Trump/Huckabee bloc by a 2-to-1 margin over Romney/Pawlenty.

When we use the actual 2010 figures for turnout, PPP’s heavily-biased result of 50-39 become Palin 42%, Obama 46.5%. Palin leads 42-40 among independents. The good news for Palin is that, in the poll, almost all of the Democrats are decided, and just 7% aren’t sure if they would go for Obama or Palin. As is normally the case, the undecideds for the challenger are much higher and 14% of Republicans are unsure. Meanwhile, a solid 18% of Independents are not sure.

Taking back control of the House last year was only the first step. Now you and I must fix our eyes on 2012. Our goal is to take back the White House and the Senate. We must take back control of Congress and the White House in order to undo the damage done by the disastrous Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda.

And if he's not willing, Greta, to engage in some of these tough issues that have to be addressed, then it's all the more reason for Government to just step aside. Get out of the private sector's way. Don't monetize debt. Don't engage in more quantitative easing. Don't look at more bailouts and more stimulus-type funding and more deficit spending. Just get out of the way and let the private sector start growing and thriving and let the private sector get the economy back on the right track.

Again, the deadly combination is the cost of oil going up with the devalued dollar that the federal government does have control of. You combine those two and unfortunately there’s not a real bright-light at the end of the tunnel here in the very near-future.
