To drive supporters away from me by improving the poll numbers of other potential Republican candidates who Obama can more easily defeat, many in the media are asserting that I will not run for president.

What we got was a speech that was excessively partisan, dramatically inaccurate and hopelessly inadequate to addressing our country's pressing fiscal challenges. What we heard today was not fiscal leadership from our commander in chief

Reduce spending in the tax code? It's magic...tax increases are now spending cuts, and we all have a big tax increase, er...spending reduction in the tax code, to look forward to in about 20 months.

And while conventional wisdom among the chattering class continues to lean against Palin mounting a presidential run, Palin has been courting the conservative base while not alienating swing voters in swing states such as Ohio, Colorado, and Florida better than any potential GOP contender.

The White House and Congress heard loud-and-clear that Americans don't want cradle-to-grave government control of our lives....And we don't want our President continuing to manipulate the U.S. energy supply. What we want are the freedoms and opportunities to make a better life for ourselves in this most exceptional nation on earth

Washington D.C. faces a serious deficit spending problem, but that problem will only continue if the issues of leadership and character deficits are not simultaneously addressed.

Governor Palin will be speaking at the Heroic Media Benefit Dinner in Bethesda, Maryland on Saturday April 30 2010. Heroic Media has graciously allowed Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin to offer a kosher shabbaton in conjunction with this event. A relaxing sabbath day, replete with all Jewish prayer services and gourmet kosher meals.

Should she decide to run an active campaign, she would likely recover a good bit of the ground she has lost...It’s still not too late for her to give a series of serious policy speeches; not too late for her to put together a real campaign staff; not too late for her to crisscross Iowa and New Hampshire; and not too late, certainly, for her to raise tons of money for a campaign.

My main point is that there's no reason for the media to treat a hack like Christie any more seriously than it treats a space cadet like Bachmann.

Governor Palin isn't reverting or flip-flopping on anything. In fact this interview ties it all up. It clarifies the governor's position. While she herself doesn't have a problem with it and wouldn't bother making it an issue, she understands why some people have questions and want answers.
April 12 2011 - 5:24 PM | By: Doug Brady
But if Palin is so devoid of intellect then how come she worked her way from being a small-town councillor to small-town mayor, a state oil & gas commissioner to state governor, to vice-presidential candidate in a little over fifteen years?

Around 60% of the undecided voters in the Palin-Obama matchup in Pennsylvania are people who already voted for her for Vice-President. Only 17% of the undecideds in the Palin/Obama matchup are Obama voters from 2008. It's clear that she'll win an overwhelming percentage of the undecided voters.

This is why it would be so disastrous, not only to the Republican brand but the country as a whole, if the GOP is dumb enough to nominate Romney or someone like him in 2012. The only difference between Romney and Obama is that Mitt may manage America's decline a bit more efficiently than Obama.
April 12 2011 - 1:28 PM | By: Ian Lazaran
The crosstabs show that there are around three times as many undecided Republicans than Democrats and that conservatives comprise a strong majority of the undecided voters.
April 12 2011 - 12:58 PM | By: Ian Lazaran
The best-case scenario for Palin in a poll, other than her leading, is to be even with Romney even with Mike Huckabee in the race. In this scenario, it all comes down to who's better able to win the Huckabee vote and most reasonable people will conclude that she has a better shot at winning Huckabee's vote than Romney.

Sarah Palin was correct in using the term “death panel” in regards to those who would discount the value of a life because of an individual’s disability. Thank you, Palin.

Since when did the opinion of foreign leaders enter into the calculus of whether or not a U.S. law passes constitutional muster? Or am I wrong and I somehow missed that chapter in the civics and political science courses I've taken in the past?

The American people are overwhelmingly conservative, and the GOP base is reliant on the conservative vote. But you need more than conservatism to win. And only one candidate has it all.

The best way to determine whether Governor Palin had a successful interview is if her opponents resort to lying about what she said.

Well, what the tea party wants is for government to be smaller and smarter. So, you know, when you consider that we just saw an increase in government spending by about 28% and saw a little chip out of that to the tune of 1%, I would say that no, the tea party and Americans in general who are concerned about the fiscal health of our country did not get what they wanted.
