Deroy Murdock | May We Drill Now, Please? Petroleum futures Thursday reached $103.41 per barrel, their highest price since September 2008. Unleaded gasoline averages $3.35 per gallon – up 66 cents, year-on-year. Summer road trips may push prices higher. Amid all of this, the Obama administration treats America’s domestic-petroleum supply like the Smithsonian’s Hope Diamond: […]

Steven Greenhut | Could Wisconsin Happen in California? If a real battle over union reform can take place in Wisconsin and spread to other liberal rust-belt, union-dominated states, then it could perhaps happen in California – although it might take some time, given the political dynamic here and the "marches to its own drummer" ethic […]

The Telegraph | David Cameron Proposes No-Fly Zone in Libya The Prime Minister repeated his earlier call for Col Gaddafi to step down and said that all measures would be considered to increase pressure on him to go. "We do not in any way rule out the use of military assets," Mr Cameron said. "We […]

Michael Barone | Why Middle America is Rejecting Big Government The recoil in 2010 against the Obama Democrats’ vast expansion of the size and scope of government seems to have a cultural or a moral dimension as well. It was a vote, as my Washington Examiner colleague Timothy P. Carney wrote last week, expressing "anger […]

Robert Barro | Unions vs. the Right to Work There is evidence that right-to-work laws—or, more broadly, the pro-business policies offered by right-to-work states—matter for economic growth. In research published in 2000, economist Thomas Holmes of the University of Minnesota compared counties close to the border between states with and without right-to-work laws (thereby holding […]

If Sarah Palin...participate[s], this could break all records and could get to be really, really wide open and very interesting...What really intrigues me is I've seen the kinds of crowds that...Sarah Palin can draw, and we have not had these kinds of strong women candidates before. That’s another dimension that is kind of intriguing, I guess.

Of all the potential candidates, Governor Palin would no doubt be the one desiring new energy and ideas...and, refreshingly, hiring advisers who aren’t entrenched in any political machine.

Funny how the media are quite selective when filtering news items about Governor Palin. Not much was made last week about her latest Gallup Poll figures or the India trip but recent remarks by Governors Christie and Haley are bounced around the media like shreds of lettuce in a tossed salad.

Thomma attempts to highlight almost every meme directed against Governor Palin by cherry picking poll results and comments from GOPers. However, campaigns are run by creating one's own narrative, and campaigns are won by the voices of the whole of the electorate, not a small portion.

This poll of Michigan voters shows that excluding leaners, Obama would only win 44% of the vote in the Wolverine state against Governor Palin. What this poll suggests is that Palin's deficit is closer to 7-10 points nationally than the ridiculous twenty-point margins that some polls have shown.

The Palin-deranged Kathleen Parker has had a bad week. First, her preferred candidate for 2012 announced he wasn't running ( driven to this announcement by Governor Palin, of course). And now this.
