Palin: Developing resources here grows our economy. It decreases trade imbalance. It creates hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs and it secures our union by eliminating dependence on dangerous foreign regimes, regimes that use energy as a weapon.

Our economic future is directly tied to the relative cost of energy. We cannot resume economic growth until we have a president who is not a servant to individuals who wish to constrain economic growth by making it too expensive to operate.

One of the reasons why other Republicans haven’t used Governor Palin’s argument is that they simply do not understand the oil and gas industry. They don’t have the same level of experience that Governor Palin does in dealing with oil companies and probably don’t comprehend that tax incentives and subsidies don’t impact all oil and gas companies the same way. Unlike Governor Palin, hacks like Romney and Pawlenty, con-men like Trump and Huckabee, and space cadets like Bachmann have been unable to explain how the oil industry works in a way that goes beyond trite and tired talking points.

The gas prices have increased 67% since Obama took over and instead of doing everything in his power to decrease those prices by allowing more domestic supply of oil which would translate into obviously more supply of gasoline too, he instead is heading the other direction. He’s over there asking the Saudis and other Arab nations to ramp up production so that we can purchase from them. That makes absolutely no sense because there goes our jobs, our opportunities, our money into foreign lands. We could be having that circulated here and that would boost our economy.

Again, the deadly combination is the cost of oil going up with the devalued dollar that the federal government does have control of. You combine those two and unfortunately there’s not a real bright-light at the end of the tunnel here in the very near-future.

I would also ask you to better explain your thinking on Libya. We can’t afford any actions that don’t take care of crucial U.S. needs and meet our own interests at this point. You are the Commander in Chief, so please explain what you believe is our “interest” there and not elsewhere.

Well, what the tea party wants is for government to be smaller and smarter. So, you know, when you consider that we just saw an increase in government spending by about 28% and saw a little chip out of that to the tune of 1%, I would say that no, the tea party and Americans in general who are concerned about the fiscal health of our country did not get what they wanted.

It’s unbelievable (literally) the rhetoric coming from President Obama today. This is coming from he who is manipulating the U.S. energy supply. President Obama is once again giving lip service to a “new energy proposal”; but let’s remember the last time he trotted out a “new energy proposal” – nearly a year ago to the day.
