Palin: Developing resources here grows our economy. It decreases trade imbalance. It creates hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs and it secures our union by eliminating dependence on dangerous foreign regimes, regimes that use energy as a weapon.

She is as tied to “Drill, baby, drill” as Ronald Reagan is to “Tear down this wall!” How is it, then, that her name is eerily absent from most of the news stories about President Obama’s sudden willingness to explore drilling?

Suffice it to say, Governor Palin was right again, and she saw it nineteen months before everyone else did–the value of the dollar effects energy commodity prices which can affect prices throughout the economy

True leadership involves making decisions in light of what’s best for both the present and the future. When we look in particular at energy, we can certainly see that Governor Palin has exhibited forward focused leadership.

One of the reasons why other Republicans haven’t used Governor Palin’s argument is that they simply do not understand the oil and gas industry. They don’t have the same level of experience that Governor Palin does in dealing with oil companies and probably don’t comprehend that tax incentives and subsidies don’t impact all oil and gas companies the same way. Unlike Governor Palin, hacks like Romney and Pawlenty, con-men like Trump and Huckabee, and space cadets like Bachmann have been unable to explain how the oil industry works in a way that goes beyond trite and tired talking points.

The gas prices have increased 67% since Obama took over and instead of doing everything in his power to decrease those prices by allowing more domestic supply of oil which would translate into obviously more supply of gasoline too, he instead is heading the other direction. He’s over there asking the Saudis and other Arab nations to ramp up production so that we can purchase from them. That makes absolutely no sense because there goes our jobs, our opportunities, our money into foreign lands. We could be having that circulated here and that would boost our economy.

President Obama and Governor Palin call for increased energy supplies. Obama calls for increased supplies from Saudi Arabia, Palin from America.

Again, the deadly combination is the cost of oil going up with the devalued dollar that the federal government does have control of. You combine those two and unfortunately there’s not a real bright-light at the end of the tunnel here in the very near-future.

It’s unbelievable (literally) the rhetoric coming from President Obama today. This is coming from he who is manipulating the U.S. energy supply. President Obama is once again giving lip service to a “new energy proposal”; but let’s remember the last time he trotted out a “new energy proposal” – nearly a year ago to the day.

President Obama shows himself to be on the wrong side of the issues of energy yet again. When he promotes development of fossil fuels, he does so in foreign countries where companies cannot create American jobs. When he promotes energy initiatives in America or in partnerships with other nations, they are initiatives that have proven to kill jobs and increase both energy costs and national debt. Governor Palin continues to be on the right side of this vital issue that links America’s energy, economic, monetary, and national securities.

Right above our arctic circle, we have 90 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil. We have hundreds of trillions of cubic feet of clean green natural gas. God has provided these for us. It’s our responsibility to responsibly tap into them and use them for mankind and not rely on foreign regimes to do it for us.
