This is exactly what Governor Palin’s point has been all along, and what she meant in her CNS interview when she noted that the government takes in $6-$8 billion per day and can use some of that revenue to service the debt.

Both stakeholders in re-distributionist schemes, those riding in the wagon (as opposed to those pulling it) and their benefactors in the public sector workforce, see it in their self-interest to perpetuate a system that rewards wealth destruction rather than wealth creation.

The $4.00 per gallon prices we’re currently paying for gasoline will seem like a bargain if this inept administration has its way.

The big question as Chairman Bernanke gets set for his first quarterly press conference is how Sarah Palin was able to figure out sooner than everyone else that the Federal Reserve’s campaign of quantitative easing wouldn’t work.

This is how things are done in Obama’s world: Apply political pressure to S&P in an effort to persuade them to scuttle their report, then accuse them of politics when they refuse.

Reduce spending in the tax code? It’s magic…tax increases are now spending cuts, and we all have a big tax increase, er…spending reduction in the tax code, to look forward to in about 20 months.

We have more conventional energy resources than every other country in the world. With the recent tsunami disaster in Japan being exploited to put nuclear energy on hold for another generation at least, we need to be developing the proven energy resources with which this nation is so richly endowed.

We need a leader with a steel spine who has the authenticity, practical experience, and strength of conviction to do what needs to be done. Republicans — and America — should demand nothing less at this critical point in the nation’s history.

Sooner or later ( I suspect sooner), investors will demand much higher interest rates for U.S. debt or look elsewhere to invest their money. This is both predictable and inevitable if we continue down the path Durbin, Obama, and their ilk are leading us. When that happens the U.S. government will have effectively ceded control of the budget to creditors, who will then dictate our priorities much like the IMF dictates priorities to Banana Republics, an outcome Governor Palin has been warning us about repeatedly.

Obama’s fiscal chickens are coming home to roost, as Governor Palin knew they would, and this is a dangerous development. It is not a stretch to describe this as a measurable decrease in U.S. national sovereignty.

Today, to add to the fun, we present Obama’s new press secretary, Jay Carney, as he explains to Jake Tapper how adding to the national debt to pay interest is really not…adding to the national debt.

So there you have it. We’ll just ignore the interest on the debt, even as it rises each and every year. What could go wrong? This way, for example, if our annual interest on the debt is $800 billion, we can run an $800 billion deficit and claim we aren’t adding to the debt, that our books are balanced. It’s magic!

I’m flabbergasted. When Obama signed the bill two years ago, we were assured that the economy would come roaring back to life, and that unemployment would remain below 8%. Surely the White House would jump at the chance to tout the wonders of what, along with the wildly popular ObamaCare, was one of the the signature achievements of Obama’s first two years, no?
