Dan Riehl – Who Is The Torchbearer For A Re-Energised Conservatism…Perry Or Palin?

I have always regarded Dan Riehl as the one of the most honest, independent and fearless commentators of the right. Serious and thoughtful, nobody would ever accuse Mr Riehl of playing to the gallery. He ploughs his own furrow and does not hesitate to lock horns with fellow conservatives if the occasion arises.

Perry Waited 10 Years to Cut Spending – Sorry, Rick, Presidents Can Only Serve 8 Years

Obama always talks about what will take place ten years down the road, but in reality the presidential term is only four years long with a maximum of two terms. Waiting ten years in order to take action is a red flag on a resume for a potential presidential candidate.

Accidental Good Fortune? Or Strategic Genius By The Woman Tony Knowles Called ‘Alley Cat Smart’

In two weeks, Bachmann will be pretty much out of it, and Perry will have a slight advantage over Romney, and an expected Palin endorsement of Perry coming to seal the deal, exactly how Perry’s team envisioned things when he entered the race. There’s just one problem with that theory: I don’t think that’s Palin’s plan.

Governor Palin Highlights the Weakness of the Texas Governor Position and Rejects the Premise of a Romney-Perry Two-Way Race At the Iowa State Fair

Palin: You have different functions in the state of Texas and the state of Alaska in terms of governing powers from the governor’s office. So it’s tough to compare what the executive duties are. We have a very strong governor’s office.

The American Research Group Pours Cold Water on Rick Perry’s Calling

As for the actual South Carolina poll, the good news for the Governor is that Bachmann and Cain won’t be around by South Carolina and that’ll leave 23% open for her.  The only reason why Mitt “peacetime” Romney leads in the state is because Tim Pawlenty and Jon Huntsman are completely hapless as both men trail…..Buddy Roemer.  It’s clear that Romney probably has a ceiling of 30% in South Carolina and the Governor should be able to surpass that percentage if Bachmann and Cain are no longer polling in double digits.
